I think the problem can fairly easily be solved by having separate communities for those who like fic and those who want straight news... That's sort of why I'd rather not post fic/art here, but have another community for it.

I searched Insanejournal, and it seems they don't have a Discworld-only fan creations asylum. I'd rather like one.
