Saturday -- Week fifteen WHO: Ruby and Bear WHAT: She's coming to check on the addition to Bear's treehouse! WHERE: Bear's treehouse WHEN: Saturday afternoon RATING: TBD STATUS: Incomplete // Closed
There was one thing that Ruby had never thought she'd find in the new direction of the world. And that was love. She'd felt more than certain that there was something about her or some strange reason...something that would keep her from finding the one true love she'd been wanting since her days as a litle girl. But that just wasn't true. Ruby had liked Bear for a long time, practically since she'd first met him. And somehow or another, those feelings had blossomed into an unspoken sort of love, expressed in blushes and shy glances when she was sure he wasn't looking. Now, though, things were different. Bear had told her that he cared for her. Loved her. It sent her completely over the moon. The smile on her face hadn't really gone away since then. And Tink saw that too. She was a smart little girl, and her questions only showed what she knew. 'Did he kiss you today?' or 'Do you miss him?'. Most times Ruby didn't really know what to say, considering it wasn't common to hear those sorts of things from a young girl!
But it was true, she missed Bear when she wasn't around him. Even more now that she knew that he cared for her like she did for him. Still, it didn't keep her from going about her work. If someone called her because of an injury, she was there administering first aid. She was going through her medical supplies, almost taking inventory and seeing what she could replace with things she could make by hand. And, of course, she was checking up on Nova, seeing that she was getting further along in her pregnancy. That was of big concern, of course, seeing that she was the mother of their tribe leader's child. And the first known woman in Sundance to be having a child. Ruby wanted to make sure that Nova and the baby would be healthy. It was her responsibility. And yet...she couldn't help but be jealous of Nova. Because, of course, Ruby had wanted to find the love of her life. But she also wanted a family of her own. A child of her own.
She'd just finished off her afternoon of inventory, setting things aside that she knew that she'd need in the coming months when Nova had her baby (namely one of the precious few syringes of morphine that she had) when her thoughts drifted back to Bear. Knowing that Tink was out playing with her friends, she changed her clothes. Her sweats were exchanged for worn in and terribly comfortable black jeans and her big, oversized t-shirt was swapped for a pretty red tank top leftover from her teenage days. Because really, she wanted to look at least a little nice. Not like she'd just rolled out of bed.
With a smile on her face, she walked over to Bear's treehouse with her hands in her pockets. She heard the sound of him working inside on the addition that would be Tink's room. Still, she didn't want to just barge in. So, as soon as she climbed up the ladder, she knocked on the door. "Bear?"
