34. Today he turned 34 and it occurred to Ehren he never thought about how time had passed so quickly until now. Wasn’t he just sixteen? Didn’t he just start working as a mechanic? His memories didn’t seem that far away but years and years had passed. When did his youth slip away from him so quickly and how much quicker was it going to go from here? Time would Tell he supposed.
Julie’s was busy tonight, side effect to throwing his birthday party on a weekend. He wished he’d just cancelled and stayed at home. Big events like this always kicked his social anxiety into high gear and he didn’t know why he let Bria talk him into this. It wasn’t as if he didn’t know anyone here, he was surrounded by friends, but often he only interacted with them individually. Who knew what kinds of things they would say to each other about him.
By 9pm, Ehren decided it was maybe time to have his first drink, before any of his friends arrived. He ordered a scotch neat and sipped at it gingerly while he waited.
