At just over six months pregnant, Laura knew her hours at the bakery would significantly decrease soon, especially since she'd only ever been there part time. But she hoped to see the young man there sometime, if for no other reason than to come across a familiar face again. "Oh? What kitchen do you work in? I understand the struggle of limitations though, but at least at home I try to get creative with four or more mouths to feed." Her husband sometimes invited others over, so Laura always made sure there was enough for everyone.
Laura nodded in understanding, part of the reason for their earlier arrival was the plan to get there while it wasn't quite so dark yet. Not that she wouldn't be able to light their way home one way or another. Laura glanced over to keep an eye on her daughter, but the girl was well-mannered, so she had no real concerns about her getting into anything.
