The question didn't phase AC in the least. If anything that smile of his merely grew a tad larger, and a bit more sheepish, before the chef shrugged and nodded his head once more. "Sure. Granted, I don't always heed said advice, but sometimes it's better to talk things out with a complete stranger since they have no real stake in things one way or another. Since I was already debating the whole thing, well it helped to get another opinion. So thanks for that. As far as the invite goes, well think nothing of it! Back at the CIA we used to do this sort of thing all the time."
Of everything Adam missed about his old life, it was getting to cook and host for friends. And the friends of friends. And total strangers too. In the kitchen is where AC felt most alive; bringing dishes to life, trying out all manner of new recipes, and getting to see folks happy and full after he was done serving up the meal. "After working all day at the restaurant we'd close up and the staff would all come over to my place. We'd pop up a few bottles of whatever sounded good, and I'd go to work trying to create all kinds of tasty treats for everyone to enjoy. I may not be back there, but at least...well nothing says I can't try to keep some traditions going, you know?"
