The mention of people being understanding drew a look of slight disbelief from Adam for a moment. After all so little of the island really screamed 'friendly and welcoming'. Still there was no denying that, beyond the rougher element, the handful of folks Parish had met over the last few weeks had been kind. So after considering if for a second or two the chef found himself nodding along in agreement, before offering a soft smile at the unintended pun too. "First impressions aren't the strong suit of a place like this, but there are nice people here to be sure."
When she hesitated AC almost apologized there and then; both for the sign and for seemingly pushing a baked good onto a stranger. Yet when Daryn took one of the turnovers and thanked him, Adam merely shrugged before shaking his head. "You're welcome, but really it's no big deal. I had some spare time, and some spare ingredients laying around, so I just ended up baking for fun. Seriously though, you don't have to take one if you don't want to. I...this whole powers things is still freaking new to me, and I know the sign is all kinds of weird."
