(Students are milling around the outside the school. CADYN and DYLAN pull up in CADYN's car, a slightly beat up 1969 Ford Mustang Grande, and get out. CADYN looks around the crowd for DEVON.)
CADYN: Do you see him anywhere?
(DYLAN looks around.)
DYLAN: No yet... oh! Over there!
(DYLAN points at a group of students to their right. CADYN and DYLAN walk over to them . When they look at them, CADYN speaks.)
CADYN: Hi! Uhm, does anyone know where I might be able to find Devon Hughes?
(One male, DEVON, raises his hand up to identify himself.)
DEVON: That's me. Who wants to know?
(CADYN smiles and holds her hand out. DEVON shakes it.)
CADYN: Hi, I'm Cadyn Paxton and this is my roommate, Dylan McManus. I'm a photographer for UC San Francisco's student paper and they're doing an article on high school athletes. They gave me a list of students to check out and, well, you're one of them.
(DEVON grins and gets a cocky air about him.)
DEVON: Really? Awesome! So, uhm, what do you need me to do?
CADYN: Well, the paper wants me to get head shots of you as well as action shots.
DEVON: I've got a game coming up in a few days? You could get some shots there?
CADYN: That's perfect! We can do the head shots after that.
(DEVON nods.)
DEVON: Sounds like a plan. Do you, uh, think I could get your number? Yanno, to stay in touch?
(CADYN smirks lightly, seeing his buddies leer and elbow each other. She starts digging in her purse as she answers.)
CADYN: Yeah, sure thing.
(CADYN finds a pen and reaches out for his hand. DEVON gives it to her and she writes her number on his hand.)
CADYN: There ya go. Call me with the details on the game, alright?
(DEVON looks at the number, smiles and nods.)
DEVON: Sure thing.
(CADYN smiles back and puts the pen back in her purse.)
CADYN: Awesome. I'll talk to you later then. Bye, Devon.
(CADYN smiles at him, winks and waves. She and DYLAN turn and walk away.)
DYLAN: He was kinda cute.
(CADYN shrugs lightly.)
CADYN: Kinda. Not really my type, though.
DYLAN: No one's really your type, are they Cadyn?
(CADYN laughs as she unlocks her car and gets in. After she's buckled she turns her car on and answers as they pull out.)
CADYN: That's not true. What about Dante?
DYLAN: The empath? Yeah, doesn't count, hun. That was like, six years ago.
CADYN: But I really liked him. It was just weird that he could sense every little thing I was feeling.
DYLAN: Yeah I think that'd drive anyone crazy. You know... I can think of a few people who are into you.
CADYN: Oh really? Who?
DYLAN: That one kid you photograph all the time. You're little "alt male model". I think his name is Kane or something like it?
CADYN: Yeah, its Kane. But that one I knew about. I've gone on a few dates with him before.
DYLAN: You have haven't you? Chris was mad about those ones, just like I knew he would be.
CADYN: Chris? Why would Chris be mad? I thought he liked Kane...
CHRIS: Oh, he likes Kane well enough. When he's not trying to get with you. Please tell me you know why Chris got mad.
CADYN: No I honestly don't, now fess up.
DYLAN: Cade! Chris is head over heels for you!
CADYN: What?! You're crazy!
DYLAN: No, sweetie, I'm a premonitionist.
CADYN: Yeah, a crazy one. Chris and I are just friends. He's like a brother to me!
DYLAN: And you're more than a sister to him, babe.
(CADYN makes a face as she parks outside her studio.)
CADYN: Okay, cut it out please.
DYLAN: You'll see soon enough.
(CADYN and DYLAN get out and head inside.)
CADYN: You know something don't you?
DYLAN: Of course I do! Cadyn, I always know something!
CADYN: So spill!
DYLAN: Nu-uh. No way. You're going to just have to wait this one out.
(DYLAN sticks her tongue out at CADYN and enters the building first. CADYN follows and we can still hear her whining.)
