Who George and Alicia
Where Katie's house
When Backdated. Before Alicia's taken by the slave people
Rating PG-13, maybe?

George had been enjoying himself quite a bit. He was glad that Katie had thrown this little bash for them. Keeping up with the old team was great. Even Oliver seemed to have taken time out of his busy schedule of Quidditch, Quidditch and more Quidditch to come join them for a drink. Once he'd arrived, Fred seemed to have taken the liberty to transfigure one of Katie's vases full of flowers into a Quaffle and some Snitches, which immediately flew around the room. Katie had not been amused. Now, though, after a long period of jumping up and down and wishing Harry were there to catch all of them, they simply gave up and were grateful that they weren't Bludgers.

George was now standing by the punch table Katie had set up. He'd fished a Snitch out of the bowl, feeling quite triumphant about his ability to catch Snitches. Or apparently fish for them. Either way, he was the leader in Snitch catching. The score was 1. Congratulations to himself.

It had been a good several weeks since the best, worst, most humiliating day of her life. She had remembered exactly how it ended too, with her looking up at him with startled eyes, grabbing and putting her clothing on, and then rushing far away. It had most certainly not been the experience that had rushed her off. No, in all honesty, she knew and did cherish the memory for quite some time. It was her own insecurities that had her leaving him without a word.

Yet, here she was, in the one place she knew she would see him. Katie had kept insisting that she come, telling her to get over whatever fear she had paralysing her from coming. She had kept on relenting until finally giving in, pleasing Katie immensely.

It was odd to have a party at such a time, especially with all the chaos around them. Yet, the atmosphere seemed quiet enough to not alarm any Death Eaters nearby, besides Katie had assured her of the charms set about the area.

She couldn't help herself as her eyes roamed about and finally caught sight of George. Her cheeks reddened instantly at the memory of when she had last seen him. He was now looking quite triumphant with himself, strutting about with a Snitch struggling in his hand. For a moment her embarrassment at their last meeting had lessened and she couldn't help the smirk that had graced her lips as she neared him. She instantly snatched the snitch from his fingers and shook her head. "Too slow, Weasley. Better luck next time."

George thought that he'd done a relatively good job of avoiding Alicia for the time being. The whole thing itself hadn't been embarrassing. What was the worst of it was that she'd left without a word. He had hoped that she at least would have stayed. He hadn't really spoken to her since then. That wasn't what he'd had in mind after all that. Still, there they were.

"Hey, I caught it," he grinned at her. "Point goes to me." This was slightly awkward, but he wouldn't let that show. No, sir. "You're looking good, 'licia." Maybe that made things more awkward. Oops. Oh well. They'd have to face it sooner or later. At least no one else knew for the moment. Except Fred. But Fred was sworn to secrecy upon pain of Percy's singing.

Oh honestly, Alicia really was such a twit at times. She could feel it the instant he grinned at her and her heart skipped ever so slightly. She covered it up with a small cough and laughed ever so lightly as she gave a nod. "Caught it without a soul challenging you." She gave him a small smirk which instantly faltered at his compliment.

She could feel the tip of her ears heat up and instantly averted her eyes. The memory of that night was still so vivid in her mind, almost causing her to wonder if it had done the same to him. She avoided it though, merely brushing a dark strand behind her ear as she flashed a slight grin. "You don't look too bad yourself, Weasley. Though, you're still too scrawny for a beater, you know."

"Still caught it," he reminded her. "There are people who can't even do that. Hell, Wood can't even see the snitch." That was a perfectly legitimate reason for why he was awesome. Because Wood was not. At most things. Good Keeper, though. He noticed her awkwardness, but decided not to mention it. Normally he would, but he had a good idea of what that was all about. He had no desire to announce that at the party.

That night certainly had affected him, and he actually wondered if she had liked it, or if she had run out to avoid telling him that she hadn't liked it. Or the dreaded 'I've had better' thing. He would never live that down, and she had to know that. George was not an insecure person most of the time, but he and Fred both knew that romance was his downfall. Fred was the smooth one. He was good with women. George managed to skate by with being confident on everything else. He'd never been in this situation before, so he had no idea how to handle it besides not bringing it up.
