First Plot Thread GO!
WHO: Order faction
WHERE: Prism Tower on the Upper Plate
WHEN: Late morning, 9AM
WHY: The first move.
Prism Tower has become the target of an explosion of mysterious origins. The image of the burning building causes everyone watching to pause in what they're doing and conversation to die out. For a moment the whole city seems to be holding its breath.
As the minutes tick by, the details become clearer. The first explosion occurred just past nine in the morning, on the highest level of the building. The next, smaller blast went off just five minutes later just a few floors below, the panicked screams and chaos within audible even over the roaring of the flames. By this point, a horrified crowd had gathered below despite Spectrum's best attempts at evacuating them from the scene. They watched in shock and horror as yet another explosion rocked the middle of the structure with an ear-splitting boom. It was almost as if the fire was toying with its rapt audience, cutting off the escape of those within it. This structure is the heart of the Upper Plate, the workplace of thousands... the amount of casualties must be staggering. Is anyone on the upper levels even still alive...?
As the third blast sounds, Spectrum redoubles its efforts to evacuate the civilians. The structure is somehow still standing tall, a proud testament to its construction, though it slowly warps beneath the white-hot flames. Another blast or two might be all it takes to finish the tower and cause it to collapse in on itself. The debris and flames that would rain down would mean certain death for any unlucky enough to be trapped both within and beneath it. In the teeming mass of people being forced toward the park exits, it would be possible, though not easy, to slip past the Spectrum guards and towards the structure. If you keep your head above the crowd and your eyes open, you might even spot a handful of others doing just that. Though, why anyone would do such an unquestionably dangerous, pointless, even stupid thing is a mystery... isn't it?
