I'm ~lovedbythesun on LiveJournal as well, and when moving from GreatestJournal (formerly ~disgracefully), I decided to consolidate under one name. And it is a name I love so much. If you've never seen Legend, GET THEE TO A BLOCKBUSTER. It is amazing 80s fantasy movie nonsense, with Tom Cruise in drapey leather, Mia Sara as a princess, and Tim Curry as the fucking DEVIL. The American soundtrack, done by a band called Tangerine Dream, for this movie is fantastic, and Loved By the Sun is just... soul-moving. HERE HAVE A VIDEO AND GET THE CHILLS, YOURSELF. Also, listen to THIS ONE because I love it to bitty bitty bits. The scene that goes along with it is just marvelous.
My name is ________ because ________: i'm lost but i'm hopeful because ... well, it's how I feel most of the damn time. It's a line from the Alanis Morissette song Hand in My Pocket. There are a few songs and CDs in the world that I fully connect to, and Jagged Little Pill was one of them. This line stands out the most, because again, it's how I feel a lot of the time. I'm a little lost in the world, drifting a bit. But I'm always hopeful that things will turn out for the best.
My journal is titled ________ because _________: i've got one hand in my pocket and the other is giving a peace sign because... same song as above. I like my names and journal titles to match, and this one just fit. A lot of pictures taken of me, I AM giving a peace sign.
My default userpic is ________ because ________: Drew Barrymore giving, you guessed it, a peace sign. Drew Barrymore has been a fascination of mine since I was little and discovered we had the same birthday. And the year I was born was the year of her breakout role in E.T.. She's overcome a lot of shit in her life and is her amazing quirky self, and that's something that I aspire to.

Because really, I don't have 50 BAJILLION OTHER THINGS TO WRITE. Whatever, I was early for work, I can do it.
1. My username is ______ because ______: missbossyboots. When people started feeling out IJ, I was in a whimsical mood, and moving away from my old online handle of velvetglitter. For no apparent reason, instead of going with shinyandnat like everything else, I went with missboosyboots, a journal I'd had on GJ I used as a plotting journal with Ashley and Jenna. It is, however, pretty apt, because I am a very bossy little miss when I get down to it. I am pretty sure I got called a bossy boots when I was a kid.
2. My name is _____ because ______: the purple kangeroo. Something linesblur referred to me as once a long time ago, and I like it so much it stuck. From the fact I love purple and that I am Australian. DID YOU KNOW PURPLE IS THIS SEASON'S NEW COLOUR? omg, so much purple in the stores right now.

without any irritable reaching after fact or reason." A quote from Ben Whishaw when he was interviewed about Bright Star. He's talking about negative capability, Keats' theory describing the capacity for accepting uncertainty and the unresolved. I am sort of in love with the idea - I am the exact opposite, I always have to facts and reason. But I think it's beautiful.

To my utter despair, the movie doesn't come out til Boxing Day here, but you can bet your sweet bippy I will be there at the first showing of the day. I had plans to see it with people until ONE OF THEM FLED THE COUNTRY AND THE OTHER REALISED SHE WAS GOING TO BE LEAVING FOR A FOLK FESTIVAL DJAKLJDALKJADL FML but I am going to go see it anyway and maybe again once they're back. Anyway, about the icon. I love it because Ben just looks so peaceful and restful (and why not, I'd be pretty restful if I was lying on Abbie Cornish's bosom, ngl). 1. My username is ______ because ______: steffpanda because in like grade 9 I decided the e-mail "snowboarding_chick_03" was lame. I didn't want to use my real last name, and since I am completely obsessed with pandas, steff_panda@hotmail.com sounded cool. I have since been asked if 'panda' is my last name, and joined almost every online site possible with steff_panda or steffpanda since. For the record, I have about 70 stuffed pandas, and probably around 30 figurines, and everything else ever made that is panda. Such as soap, dishes, piggy banks, pencils, loofas, ... name it, I probably have it.
2. My name is _____ because ______: steffyyy, because up until last week it was still steffpanda and I didn't have anything clever to put. I'll think of something someday.

My username is ______ because ______: amor_remanet; Well, back at the end of ninth grade, when I got my first livejournal, I'd been using Duanya as an online alias (still seen in my email address) and various forms of Sailor Moon-themed silliness as backups. Duanya came from a D&D character who got shot in the face and died; the Sailor Moon stuff was just me being an obsessive fan-nerd. Anyway, when I got to LJ, I wanted to do something ~different~ and ~new~… so I put my four years of Latin class to work and made up a Latin username. It translates to "love remains," which I thought was being Poignant And Cool… and then it just stuck and I'm too attached to change it.
2. My name is _____ because ______: "Kassie: a wild tl;dr monster" because, for ages, it was "Kassie, guardian angel of emo angsty boys" courtesy of something sherlock said on some snaps cup meme (I think it was a snaps cup meme anyway?) a while back, and as much as I loved that name, I thought a change was worthwhile. Also, I talk too much.
3. My journal is titled ____ because ____: "no, not the young people. they shall be spared." This is one of my favorite lines from the translation of Strindberg's The Ghost Sonata I read for Theatre History in my freshman year. Mostly, it's because I just really liked that line. Likewise, the subtitle is, "it could be worse! we could be stuck in the audience!" from one of my favorite lines in Muppet Treasure Island. (Statler and Waldorf are the figureheads on the bow of the ship. They're discussing how much it sucks to be stuck on said bow.)

Just so you guys know, there is some ~rl~ stuff going on right now with my family that is kind of heavy -- it's nothing I need to pull a Madagascar and lock down everything for, but it's sort of gnawing away at the back of my head. If I don't respond to something or seem weird on AIM, that is probably why! Plus it's finals time, as everyone knows, so I might just drift off sometimes to go work/sleep. Probably sleep.

Working on steamtrek apps when you are tired and distracted means they are not going as well as hoped. Jocelyn is ALMOST FINISHED, thank Christ, and I will just have to work on Giovanni tomorrow. aaaaaaaaaargh. Why did I leave this to the last minute.
ALSO, I NEED YOUR HELP.
I am rapidly going insane and losing track of everything I'm supposed to do, what I've promised people I'd do, what I need to do. SO. Here is your chance to remind me - AGAIN - if I have promised you something and forgotten about it. If it is not on the to-do list I posted here, then it will not be getting any attention from me. If there is plot I have not mentioned in awhile, stuff I was going to do, whatever, I seriously am losing my mind.
A decent night's sleep would help. Which I will not be getting tonight. FML.
