Mackenzie Dawson ([info]liquified) wrote in [info]deliverance_rpg,
Luckily for her, Mackenzie Dawson had no such issues with her own footwear, even though she'd had her work boots for a fair while now and were starting to show their age. Unfortunately, in such times she couldn't afford the luxury of getting new boots whenever she just felt like a change, or because they were looking a little worn, and would probably only get a new pair if the ones she was currently wearing literally fell to pieces. It was a good thing they still held up because Kenzie's car had decided to break down, forcing her to take the shuttle to get as close to the site as she could before travelling the short distance from there to the building on foot. The shuttle meant that it wasn't too much of an inconvenience for her, but it was still annoying. She would have to remember to get it seen by a mechanic sometime soon.

The last job of the day for Kenzie was a building that didn't seem to need too much attention, with continually crumbling walls and a generally slightly worn state, which wasn't all to uncommon for buildings in the complex. Still, it was her job to check it out in case it turned into or was an indication of something worse; the last thing the people in the complex needed right now was a building falling on their heads. At first glance there seemed nothing too drastically wrong with the structural integrity itself, but she knows first glances can be deceiving, a thought she kept in mind as she had joined the other engineers from varying disciplines around the blueprints.

Upon hearing the door to the elevator door open she glanced up and, recognising the latecomer, she offered a smile as he approached the group and spoke to her. "Hi, Darrien," she replied, glancing around quickly before continuing, "we've really got to stop meeting like this."

She motioned to the rest of the group, still talking about plans for after they clock off. "You haven't missed too mu-" She stopped mid-sentence to sneeze. Again.

It felt as if all day she'd been doing nothing but, and everyone who knew her knew that was one of the first signs of her getting a cold. Sometimes she thought she had a cold more often than not. "S'cuse me," she apologised, sniffling a little.
