Seraphine. ([info]adustum) wrote in [info]deliverance_rpg,
Seraphine tended to take a lot of walks. Mostly, because she didn't own a car. She had a well established job and not too shabby of a flat but she didn't drive. In fact, she couldn't. She never learned how to. It was a silly thing, something she should have learned when she was a teen or going to college but it never interested her. At that time, a quarter of the people 16 and older didn't drive. Transportation was growing, albeit slowly compared to other countries, but growing none the less. Now in the nuclear winter of her older days, she sort of wished she had learned but even now, in this sort of world, it didn't bother her. She walked a sort of gangly sort of stride, not quite clumsy but not quite graceful either. It was a stride of tiredness and pointlessness. Home was where she went everynight she got off and sometimes where she spent her days now that food was becoming rare. These days, with the shipments being limited, she found herself going stir crazy. They had taken her one love away from her: cooking.

She had a beanie on her head and was wrapped firmly in an old wool coat. She hardly ever paid attention to her shoes though she could feel a slight cold wetness down by her right toe. Perhaps it was time to ask for new ones. Her hands were stuffed inside her coat, no gloves to speak of. There wasn't really a need. Though she knew she had basic motor function with them still, she didn't have feelings through most of her hands. The medlabs assured her that this was just a phase of the medicine and eventually she would regain feeling back, much like she had in most of her body. But there was also the chance that she wouldn't. She had a few spots on her legs and one big one on her back that she never regained back. But, there was hope. She had to have that.

She kicked the snow with her boot, watching it fly ahead of her when she caught sight of the other person. It was weird cause she looked like she was playing around but she had a frown on her face. Crossing the street, she made her way over. “ 'Scuse me, need some help?” She pushed her hair out of her face, her bangs stuck to her forehead, despite her intentions.
