It was rare this time of year that he was able to sit down and put his feet up on the tasseled hassock in his study. Which was why, as he settled into the cushy plumpness of his red velvet chair, Santa began mentally reviewing his to-do list for today. Did he really have time to enjoy his peppermint hot cocoa, or had he forgotten something that would require his attention?

Of all the stupid trends to start this year, Hebe hated YOLO the most. The core idea behind it was laughable to her, you only lived once? Hebe lived anew again every night. With every lover. With every change of season and change of trends. There was no ONCE in her life. It kept going and going and times would change, bell bottoms would be out then come back into style, Zeus knows why. Bell bottoms.

But all these kids and their 'YOLO' tattoos. All their SWAG shirts. All of that. Hebe wanted to slap the lot of them around and yet HER core being was screaming it too. Because Hebe was youth. And she caught HERSELF saying YOLO before she pulled a shot glass, with her teeth, out from between a pair of really nice...

Posting Order: Zeus, Hera, Eris, Enyo, Hebe

This had to have been Hera's idea, he thought to himself as he drummed his fingers along the table in the informal dining room of his palace on Olympus. It wasn't that he despised his children with Hera, quite the opposite in terms of Hebe and Illythia, but some of them were quite difficult and tended to cause him moments of disgust where Zeus couldn't help but wonder if it was really worth claiming them as his own. Three troublemakers: Ares, Enyo and Eris. They tended to cause him more headache than pride. ( True, they could be useful, but that was only on an occasional basis and he didn't find there was ever much need to interact with them when they weren't needed. )

There were a hell of a lot of things that Hebe had missed doing. One of them was partying. The second was shopping. The third was partying again, it deserved two spots! The fourth through probably twentieth spot was men. She missed men. She missed Gods. She wished the way the sounded, smelled, tasted, moved.. so on and so forth. Youth was YOUTH, they mingled, danced, went through the motions, lost themselves, went crazy, fell in love all at the drop of a hat. Hebe needed that. She needed release from the bounds of her latest wedding blues. Stupid husband that was stupid and gah. Thankfully Hercules was pretty much history. She may have held the title but not the ring, not the commitment. Which made things like this way easier. It really didn't matter what Erote she ran into, but her hips kind of guided her right for Anteros' door.

It wasn't as if Hebe was that important of a Goddess. Not when you compared her to all of her family members. Youth was just youth. But if you tried to tell Hebe that she'd probably have daddy beat you up. And then have someone fix you so he could do it all again. The problem was, for Hebe, is she was too important when it came time for graduations. Hebe caught caught up in youth's change. From youth to Adulthood. From Child to Youth, to youth to young adult. And so on. This time of the year was just too busy for her. So she tried to split herself up so she could be everywhere.

After the messy business of tracking down a wayward nymph and dealing with not only the paperwork involved, but all of the collateral irritation because of her husband's involvement with one of the players, Hera was more than ready for a break. Unfortunately, she was not exactly in the position of simply being able to put a “gone fishin'” sign on her office door and stepping out. There were a thousand little things that had to be dealt with, people that needed to be motivated, things to be put in place, just so that she could have a few moments of time to herself without worrying about interruption later. It took time, but finally, she was set. She was free.

Hermod had finished getting dressed and was looking at himself in the mirror. He straightened his tie and smoothed down his hair. He had someone coming to look at his horses today and wanted to look his best. The ranch manager had told him the daughter of some rich, important man had been looking for a pony and had heard about them from somewhere. He hoped that if she found a pony she liked then maybe he could convince her to donate to his miniature horse helpers. He always welcomed any help he could get with the assistance animals.
