Hermod thought he might be starting to get through to her. He was almost certain she wouldn’t be getting this mad if she didn’t want him. “I am not going to shut up. I love you. It kind of surprised me, too. But it’s true. I love you, Bast.”
He stepped closer and gently put his hands on her shoulders. “It’s scary and new and a little bit crazy. But it is true. I love you.”
He did love her. The more he said it, the more confident he grew in his feelings. He smiled and gently stroked her hair.
“I know I’m the total opposite of your type. I’m not wild and carefree. I blush a lot. I’m a bit of a prude. But I love you. I love the way I feel when I’m with you. I was crushed when you left. I should have gone after you right then, but I’ve never had this experience before so I didn’t know what to do. I’m sorry. I should have come after you. I should have whisked you away after the New Year’s Ball.”
He was starting to sound like his friend Lottie. “Sorry for the babbling. I love you and I don’t want you to go away again.”
