“Again, my apologies, your majesty,” he said bowing to her. He was going to get himself banished from Olympus if he wasn’t more careful. He knew there were plenty of other young gods that would love a chance to have his job. Hera had the poor to get him fired if he pissed her off too much.
“Kratos told me he had something he needed to take care of and he needed me to cover his shifts. He’s never taken time off before. Except for that time Apollo made him stay home when he got pneumonia or something. I just assumed he found a girlfriend. Watch your step, you majesty.” He guided Hera around a pile of something unpleasant. He wasn’t sure what it was but he knew it did not belong on his queen’s shoes.
“My brother would not discuss any real girlfriend with me,” he confessed. “He probably thinks I’m against any long term relationship. Never really had one myself.” He wasn’t really against a real relationship; he had just never seen one. Other than his grandparents, no one else he knew ever had a happy marriage.
He tried to think about the last conversation he had with his brother. Had there been anything on Kray’s voice or manner that he should have noticed? Had he tried to talk to Zee and been blown off? What the fuck was going on that had the queen worried?
“My mother has no reason to doubt Zeus’ oath. Or he ours.” He needed to find Kray and figure out what was going on.
