Girls' Night Out (tag: Ninkasi)
It had been too long. Hadn't it? Reshi counted on her fingers and decided, yes, it had definitely been too long. She'd had a complete discussion about it with Taweret, and had been texting her regularly with no real updates and a lot of speculation. And giggling. There had been a lot of giggling. But out of Ninkasi? Nothing.
Enough was enough. Nergal was out for the evening, and though she thought of asking Taweret along, Reshi was a bit afraid that the overwhelming personality of the Egyptian might keep her niece from opening up. At least at the beginning of the evening. She needed to get Ninkasi to... to loosen up.
Any other person, she would have gotten them drunk. That tended to loosen both the tongue and the inhibitions. But that would certainly not work with her twin's daughter. No she was going to need some other vice to crack the girl's defenses. Intoxication of the traditional sort would not do, which also ruled out recreational drugs. What else got people wound up and took them outside of themselves?
Oh!
OH!
Yes, that would be absolutely perfect!
With rolls of fives stuffed in her pockets and a halter top that would give her husband a heart attack if he knew she was going out in public in it, Ereshkigal showed up on Ninkasi's doorstep. Though it was not the first time she'd been to her niece's home, it was a fairly rare occurrence. So she rang the bell, then waited with seeming patience, though truthfully she disliked standing on a stoop.
She very much disliked it.
Very much.
