The look Zeus slid Hera could only be described by the most banal of terms... something Hebe would say, really? Because absolutely no part of of him feared for his own, or even Hera's, physical safety. But how like her to misconstrue the concern completely. She was, of course, missing the complete possibility of impact somewhere else and a dramatic domino effect. Especially if some of their more... emotionally volatile children became involved. Not to mention others, not even of their blood, that would see any sign of weakness on Olympus as something to be exploited: from within Olympus itself, from the Underworld -creation help them all, or worse... another pantheon. After that mess with Bragi, he certainly did not trust the Norse to not exploit a hole if they found it. Or at least not make some pitiful attempt to do so.
“Please,” he said dryly, “if my personal safety was on the line I would have spoken to him already. But things can spiral faster than one is prepared for when warnings are ignored simply for the reason of -that could never happen.” Zeus paused a moment to taste his own ceviche and to think. “He's not malicious at the core, that is never my concern. It is the domino effect from a reaction to... whatever is going on.”
Oh, the ceviche was quite good. He was going to make sure the kitchen staff was made aware of how pleased he was with that.
“Remember, he interacts with Egyptians and Sumerians.” The latter was the concern. Zeus did not really trust the Sumerians as a whole, or care for them. Such a prickly lot. Well, the one with the bar was alright, but her relations...
“I will talk to him,” he said a moment later. “And if Zelos has any information, you can see if he will divulge.” There was a sudden moment of brilliance that struck him. “We can compare our discoveries and see what, if anything, needs to be done.” It would force them to have another meeting and another chance for him to assess what she was hiding from him.
