It had been a very interesting lecture.
Thoth would have liked to have interjected a few time with some questioned, however, he did not want to interrupt the flow of the speaker. Nor did he wish to intimidate the others that chose to pose their own queries at the end of the lecture by asking something that might have thrown the lecturer for enough of a loop to end the question and answer portion of the program. It was better to allow all that were present to experience this and learn as much as they possibly could from the material presented. Then, with any luck, they would take that information and think on it until they reached their own thought-out conclusions.
One could only hope. It was not always the case. He knew that. A sad truth, but it was all he could do was hope that in time things would turn toward a desire for higher knowledge again.
Right now, all he was hoping for was a cup of tea -or he'd even settle for coffee that wasn't overly fancied up, that did not require a doctorate to order it. Thoth, for all his wisdom, found most coffee shops cumbersome to order in. This was especially troublesome in his current location.
The lovely lecture on the history of banning language and ideas... in honor of the end of Banned Books Week, had been in Eugene, Oregon. It was a lovely city. However, the Pacific Northwest was... well, for someone as simple as Thoth was in food and beverage tastes, it was a bit more than cumbersome. He understood what was meant by the phrases Fair Trade, Organic, Local, Non-GMO, Vegan and all that. What he failed to understand was how all of those things were combined together and still made something taste good and then the combinations that were given at the time of ordering...
It seemed easier to go home and make his own tea at that rate.
Hands tucked in the pockets of his jacket, he chewed on a toothpick walking quietly down the sidewalk through town, hoping something maybe would catch his interest. If not somewhere to get a coffee or a tea -black and uncomplicated in either case, then perhaps a shop with something for Seshat. That was a thought...
