A Ball To Remember 5 (tag: all attending!)
The Can-Can Dancer shrugged. The Peacock was more than welcome to go off and mingle. In fact, that was a wonderful idea. “I think I'll do the same, after a quick snack.” She nodded her head and started to walk away. “Nice talking to you, Hera,”

Then she paused to look over her shoulder, “And if you're not Hera, well... I wish you luck when she finds out who you are.” It wasn't exactly a stretch to insinuate that the Queen of Olympus would be less than pleased at someone dressing as a peacock

Then the Dancer made her way over to the food, where she was pleased to see some easy finger foods. The question was where to start at this point, did she go for the fruit or a vegetable... or maybe a small sandwich.

“Oh, if you're ordering, tell him I want an Appletini.” The Six Flags Guy said and gave another wink to the Bride. Appletinis were awesome too. In fact it just emphasized his awesomeness.

So she wasn't taking to the ring pop. Which was just as well, he would just eat it later. So, he stuck it in his pocket for after the masquerade. In the meanwhile, he needed to try a different tactic with the lady. While he waited for the appletini he was sure would be made for him, he decided to make conversation.

“So, this husband of yours. Are you sure he's here? What's his style, his taste? Maybe I can help you find him?”

Or, blatantly avoid him.

She laughed, a lot actually. It was nice to laugh. It was nice to not think of everything else going on and just be. Why hadn't she been here sooner?

Well she kind of just blended in a lot mostly. Mostly.

"I ran into four walls and knocked over a vase. I bet Hebe'll be pissed but hey like I care, I can just have her.. well I can deal with her."

She laughed again. "I wish it was easier to boogie in though!"

She smiled at the woman, or girl? Well Goddess was a better word. There were so many weird things about actually being here. It wasn't her normal thing. So some stranger talking to her ahhh..

Yeah this was weird. At least she was friendly!

"Yep, Beauty from Beauty and the Beast, well Belle. I thought it was pretty tame rather than, oh hi I'm a whore! You know, modern day get ups.." She shrugged her shoulder and ordered herself a glass of water because she didn't trust Hebe not to have something in every drink.

"Are you having a good time?"

Well there was a heck of a lot going on now. Good. Just the way it should have been. Not that she expected less from this sort of party. She had hoped while wandering around to find a few couples in little areas. But well, not everyone was Greek. Still, it could have been hilarious.

Pity.

She hopped up onto the edge of one of the many bars and ordered a Cosmopolitan.

She didn't need anyone to talk to really, half the fun was watching.

So, Gandalf didn't get the joke. Figured. Herman narrowed his eyes at the implied insult from the wizard that he didn't read.

“It was a joke. Dumbles. As in Dumbledore. Also a character from a book.” He wondered who this god was. Friend? Foe? Obviously someone that lacked both a sense of humor and manners. “I am Herman Munster. A character from television. Well, old television.”

Then, he considered the need for a drink himself. Something that wasn't sitting on the table going flat while waiting for someone to pluck a glass of it. There was no way that champagne was going to stay properly bubbled. “And given the dense population of party-goers at the bar, I would assume that it is something we do on our own.”

“Not hoping, no.” He said. He watched the Nun and the Power Ranger carefully. Something was changing in their tussle. “Expecting, actually. Every inter-pantheonic event ends in violence of some kind.”

He stuffed his hands into his pockets and adjusted his position on the wall. “And I don't have to start anything. It practically starts itself.”

"I guess it doesn't," she said with a laugh.

Her red lips slipped into a pleased smile when he called her by name. Here she thought she was being clever, but the reference hadn't been as forgotten as she'd thought. "I'm never one to turn down a drink and if a Marv does show up, he'll have to learn how to deal with it." She shrugged a slender shoulder, enjoying the attention.

Then she shifted her attention with his and took in the room again. She'd marveled at the fact that all these gods had come to the party, but she didn't know who was who. The idea of placing different faces behind different costumes amused her. "I'd say it was a roaring success. Party hasn't been invaded. No fights have broken out yet, that I've seen. Everyone looks like they're having fun from here," she remarked before turning her attention to him. "And now I have someone to keep me company."

“We pesky Greeks are all over the place,” Batman replied, winking behind the mask. The Bat knew that was a waste of flirting since Catwoman couldn’t see behind the mask, but instinct had taken over.

Batman looked over at the new arrivals. Another superhero, a wizard, and a very nicely dressed saloon girl. That could add a new layer of fun to the betting. What would they want to wager? “The more the merrier, I always say.” That was probably not very much in character, but the knowledge of the character was limited.

“Shall we go and invite them to join us?” Batman looked around, wondering who else might be fun to drag into this bet.
