April showers bring May flowers. While there were plenty of showers in April, it is still unseasonably (or is that unreasonably?) cold. The temperatures for the month will average in the 40s and 50s for the most part, with more than a few nights dipping under that. While Colorado's never been Florida, this is a little much, isn't it? A decimated world's not bad enough - it has to be hampered with a blizzard, too? What else is this world going to throw at the survivors?

The snow showers increase, mixing with a wind coming down off the mountain to create a blizzard.
May 4th - 7th - Those who haven't made it into Breckenridge yet might have a little bit of trouble getting in. A blizzard rolls in overnight and decides to settle in. Over the course of the three days it lingers, it doesn't dump much snow but it does make life difficult. While it isn't constant low visibility, the wind is fierce and hampers patrols, increasing the odds of things sneaking in. When the blizzard blows out - the evening of the 7th - it leaves behind an accumulation of snow ranging from half an inch in sheltered or high-gust areas to drifts of up to seven feet. Because, you know, rebuilding a decimated world isn't bad enough without some blizzard thrown in.
May 10th - To celebrate the efforts of the town to survive the blizzard, and to welcome the newcomers, several residents have gotten together at the local Pizza Hut to throw a town-wide pizza party, open to everyone.
May 19th - Something, somewhere, did a number on the animal population. A large flock of birds, accompanied by a pack of savage dogs makes it into the town. All of them are rage-infected, leading to chaos in town. Anyone bitten will suffer the effects - either illness or becoming infected themselves. It's all hands on deck to combat this threat.
May 28th - The thunderstorms weren't just rain and noise. Several powerlines were downed, leading to most of the town being without power until the minds with the knowledge can right things for everyone. Most places will be without power for the majority of the day.
