The Death Note article on Fan History Wiki needs your help! The article is supposed to give a history of the fandom. At the moment, it isn't doing that very well. It only has very basic information. It needs more. Whatever information you can add, from a date added on the timeline to a fandom specific term to how big a fansite or community is, that would be really great!

Fan History also has a directory of Death Note fans with 8,203 articles. The articles about members of the fandom are a neat way to promote yourself, people in the fandom you love and as a way of warning people away from wankers and other fandom trouble makers! They also help give an interesting picture of the fandom's history by showing which fandoms Death Note fans came from, what fandoms they joined after leaving the Death Note fandom, who the big name fans are, etc.

Explanations are needed as to why the Death Note fan fiction community acts the way it does. Why isn't their more activity on SkyHawke, FicWad and FanWorks.Org? why ere 6 stories deleted off FanFiction.Net on January 9? Answers needed!

Just a quick note from your resident mod: the "thirteenth" volume of the series, How to Read 13, has been released in the US! It's full of info about the story and characters and comes with a special shiny card revealing L's real name (for those of you who don't know it, you can have a card! liek, omg! XD It's very shiny, but in my opinion a bit pointless). It also has the pilot Death Note chapter at the end, and tons upon tons of info. If you'd like to learn more about the background of the story, I highly recommend you pick it up. Just know that the text is pretty small in a lot of places, so read with a lamp nearby.

The second part of this update is the one that I have to squeal over. Death Note: Another Note - The Los Angeles BB Murder Cases, the DN novel, has been released in English. It's about the LA BB Murder Case mentioned in passing in the series, and how the case is solved. It's absolutely fascinating and I really really REALLY think you should all read it. Really. :D

Is anyone planning to watch the L change the World movie? (Its out in thearters in Japan) They made Death note movies, 1&2..now this is the spin off movie. If your in japan, go watch it I heard its good.

First, the news: there was a special one-shot chapter of Death Note in the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump to help promote the new L-centric movie L change the WorLd. It's set post-series and is definitely worth reading - scanlations are available here. Obviously, there are spoilers for the entire series. Feel free to talk about it - I liked it, for the most part, but I was also busy going "OMG OMG OMG I'M READING NEW DEATH NOTE OMFG!" the entire time I was reading it. XD

And now the icons! These are my SPECIAL SOICHIRO D: FACE ICONS. Because virtually all the faces Yagami Soicihiro makes are worth slapping "D:" on. All of these are from the movies, but I want to make some anime and manga ones too. :3

Hello, I run Fan History, a fandom wiki dedicated to writing and preserving the history of fandom. There is an article about the Death Note fandom that could use some help from people inside the fandom. :) The article at the moment most just has information about activity on FanFiction.Net and MySpace. It needs canon release dates and information on LiveJournal stuff, the major fansites, etc. (And why is the Death Note fandom only getting big now? The manga was released in 2003/2004 but most communities and first fan fiction outside of English seems to have been written in 2007. MySpace Death Note fandom seems tiny compared to Pokemon, Digimon and Sailor Moon. What's up with that? Are the demographics just different for these fandoms from Death Note? Ditto with mailing lists. I think there is one major Death Note mailing list on Yahoo!Groups.) It also needs information on what Death Note communities outside the English one are doing. Kind of surprised to see an active Hungarian and Finnish language community.

Any help in editing the aforementioned information or other information into the article would be much appreciated. :) If you don't feel comfortable editing the Death Note article, please pass the link along to anyone you think might be able to. :) The more people who contribute to the article, the more accurate and useful it will be.

First off, the community now has a profile that looks somewhat spiffy. Er, at least I think so. I also made a crappy logo/icon (seen in this post).

Secondly, I have to plug an asylum I've made :D lxlight, for all your L and Light related needs. Or something like that XD It's affiliated with this community, of course, and I'd like to designate this the "affiliation post" - comment if you maintain a Death Note-related asylum and you'd like to affiliate for great justice.

And lastly :O Anyone happen to know any Death Note rps taking apps, here on IJ or elsewhere? Or does anyone want to be the L to my Light play with me?
