Who: Britannic; open
When: Tuesday, April 7th, 2009 (afternoon)
Where: Xavier's; computer lab
What: bloggin' / contemplating the Professor's departure
Status: in progress
Rating: PG-13?

Brian had had lab duty plenty this week, and with the departure of Xavier, he felt he needed to go top side and do something thinking - get in touch with the outside world. He made for the computer lab, instead of checking his laptop in his room frankly because he thought he might spot another person that wasn't a fellow lab-dweller.

As he scanned the stories in the news to do with the MRA situation, he nibbled on his lower lip with dismay. He worried for Betsy - wherever she was, and he worried for his fellows and students and older colleagues. Things could get shady real fast, and the brit wasn't sure he could follow the Professor's lead and deal with things in a political fashion. He was itching to exercise more than his medical talents - and the Danger Room wasn't cutting it. He had an even head on his shoulders, but things were getting out of hand here in the US, and from what he read, things weren't much better for mutants in his homeland, either.

His hand moved to his chin and his elbow rested against the edge of the long desk, and he rested his eyes a moment. "Shit," he muttered. He wasn't even sure how he would be dealt with, being an 'alien' and such. He'd yet to find the information on foreigners to do with the MRA, but he'd keep looking.

'Yes, Braddock', he thought sarcastically, 'the internet is a great place to be to help you relax'. Hardly.

Normally Josh would be in class with Xavier at this point in the day but since the headmaster had taken off for Washington D.C. class had been canceled. Now, without his afternoon class, Josh found himself with more free time than he was used too. Normally the golden mutant would be outside but due to a fantastic April showers he was stuck inside, bored out of his mind.

As the golden teen walked the halls of Xavier's Academy, wearing a pair of dark jeans and a black polo shirt, Josh found himself drawing closer to the computer lab. Sure he had his own computer up in his room but going up there meant he may run into his roommate and Josh really didn't feel like dealing with him at the moment. Pushing the door open, the golden youth slipped into the room before shutting the door again.

"Looking at porn there Braddock?" Josh joked after spotting the older X-Man and making his way over to the man. At some point in time since Brian had returned to Xavier's Josh had developed a small crush on the man. Blonde, tall, built, smart and with that hot accent... But Josh had never really got a vibe that the man was interested and so it had remained a one-sided crush. Oh well, Josh could still dream. Taking a backward seat next to Brian, Josh dropped his chin into his hand and gave the older man a smile.

Brian smirked, "Yes, of the midget variety," he replied, rather uncharacteristically politically incorrect. "You'd think I'd be watching Amazons," he grinned, feeling his mood lighten. Company helped.

"How's my favorite healer?" It was true, Josh was handy to have around. "Finding yourself with little to do?" Things were agonizingly slow around the place, despite the energy of the school's population. Everyone was on pins and needles awaiting word from Dr. Hank and the Professor. Or, at least Brian was. He clicked the browser down and opened up a hand of solitaire to keep himself busy while he chatted. There were some relaxation issues at work. C'est la vie.

"You know we have crazy web tracking on all the public computers right? Rumor is Xavier has a technopath hooked up to the server," Josh joked, a smile on his face as he teased the other man. It may have been his own group that started that rumor a year ago for the new kids, but Josh wouldn't be surprised if something like it ended up being true. Perhaps that was how the X-Men were funded, electronically stolen money from some technopath.

"I am bored with nothing to do," he replied, breathing hard and running a hand through his increasingly shaggy hair. Perhaps he could shave his head today, that would be something to do. However Josh doubted that would be enough to distract him from the issues going down on capital hill. A small part of Josh was terrified that if this bill was passed he would be scooped up and stuck in some lab to heal and be tested on. Hell with his healing factor he could become the next Wolverine. "What about you England? Anything exciting going on in your life?"
