So we held our first official BTD OOC chat on AIM this evening at 9PM EST. We came up with some good ideas during the chat, so I'm thinking about possibly making this into a weekly or biweekly thing based on people's schedules. I'll try to hold it at earlier times, like 6PM EST or 7PM EST if that fits people's schedules better. The more people involved = the better input we have to work with. When would be good times for everyone? What timezone are you in?

During this session, we came up the following thoughts and ideas that we would appreciate everyone's input on!

Jasper Goes Double Agent
-- The general idea is this: "Maybe Alice could have a vision about them (the Volturi) plotting to do something to the wolves, but since it involves the wolves she can't see what it is. So they need to figure it out from the inside." - Cori
-- The reason the Volturi might be so interested in the werewolves is because they want to experiment with what happens when you cross a werewolf with a shapeshifter. Or a vampire. Actual torture/medical scenes may happen if people are up for it. This is what might prompt Alice to have a vision and get Jasper to go rogue.
-- "The Volturi probably know that Jasper's the weakest link in the Cullen chain and could be interested in his powers, and then they have an interest in Alice too, so he could be a target. He could kinda stage himself to go to the Volturi's side, but as a spy kind of thing so he could keep the Cullens informed on what they were up to. But I think that at the same time, it might get a little hard for him to keep his control and not slip to their side." - Cori.
-- We're working on the idea that only Carlisle and Alice will know that Jasper isn't really working for the Volturi. Edward too possibly, if they can't keep it from him. The reactions from the other Cullens about Jasper going rogue will be more genuine and will give more credence to the idea that he's really bad now, because they really will think he has gone rogue.
-- Since the Volturi are interested in adding Bella, Alice, and Edward to their ranks, they will allow him to visit the Cullens time to time. This will give them ample opportunity to chew him out for betraying their lifestyle.
-- Jasper will eventually slip up and actually drink from a human though. It will earn more trust with the Volturi, but less with the Cullens including Carlisle, Alice, Edward, and even Jasper himself.
-- The shapeshifters won't get involved unless it becomes absolutely necessary to stop him from killing the whole town or something. They have a tentative peace with the Cullens killing Jasper will probably break that trust and mess up all of their lives.

Timeline: Sooner rather than later. We're already forming the structure for it in the Felix/Jasper scene. But we would love input from everyone! Especially those that play Edward, Bella, the Volturi, and the werewolves!

The Input: Edward will probably catch onto something being up if they hide it from him. So it's probably better if they don't and let him in on it from the start. The werewolves won't be too happy with Jasper or the Cullens.

Rosalie/Emmett/Nessie vs. NPC Volturi Guard
-- The general idea is this: The Volturi haven't forgotten Nessie and have noticed the trio missing from Alaska and Forks. They have a NPC Volturi Guard play master of disguise and possibly attempt to kidnap Nessie or make vague threats.
-- A fight may happen.
-- This prompts the trio to go to Forks, because it looks like that they'll be safer with the family, if the Volturi are going to be everywhere.

Timeline: Sooner rather than later. We would love input from Nessie and Emmett! And we'd also like to know if you'd rather play the NPC Volturi Guard on your own or if you'd like me (Chaku) to NPC him for you?

The Input: Nessie's down for the plot and doesn't care who NPCs the Guard. Same for Emmett and Rosalie. Feel free to start it whenever and if none of you bring in the NPC, I can later. :)

Supernatural Beings
-- The general idea is this: Vampires, werewolves, and shapeshifters exist. But what else is out there?
-- We might, eventually but not right this second, want to look at the possibility of expanding the supernatural universe that S. Meyer has created for us. But what kind of creatures do you think would mesh better with our characters and story? What kind would you like to see? What ideas do you have for them?

Timeline: Later rather than sooner. We already have a lot to work with. So let's focus on the now rather than the later, but we'd still like input here!

The Input: Witches possibly? Those that have ties to a family or a group. Not generic. Other shifters (killer rabbits?), possibly from other tribes and countries.

I've seen a few places that have witches and other being like that on there. I will look around for the few that I've seen so we can see how other people are doing them.

Attempt kidnapping is a great idea, I was actually thinking about it myself. I'm over at Gwen's place stealing her internet because we have to big test tomorrow. I don't mind if we get to NPC or if we have one of the mods doing it.

	I really like the idea of a group chat every so often, just to make sure we're all on the same page with plots and the like. I usually don't get home from work (on weeknights) until around 6pm EST, so the earliest I'd be able to get on and participate would be closer to 7pm. But that's just me! (Reply to this) (Thread)

I was just reading over that! Haha. I think it's a great idea - good for plots. Either way is fine with me, but with Edward being able to read everyone's minds, it would probably be incredibly difficult to keep it from him, you know? If they were constantly thinking about the most random stuff to keep him out, Edward would become suspicious, and I'm sure someone would eventually slip up.

i'm digging all the new plottage! its sounds fun. i think jasper switching will be interesting for the werewolves too, because it will definitly put a strain on their willingness to cooperate with the cullens.

and i'm sort of thinking that with all the werewolves around, Alison is starting to feel sort of a responsibility for them. like almost a duty to them because she is a direct descendent, and its only just now coming through because she's never been around so many of them for so long. i hope that makes sense...

Sounds like a party! I love plotness. Um, for the one involving Emmett, Rosalie and Nessie, maybe I could write up something real quick with Marcus? You know, ordering the unnamed guard to do what he/she's supposed to be doing? I need something for him to do anyway, since there's no Aro or Caius for him to play with.

And Jane's down for the first plot :)

I missed this chat, but having them at 6 or 7 means I'll most likely be around for them.

	If you could, it would save me the trouble of writing it up! I may actually pick up Caius, just so that you won't get bored and so that we're closer to having a more complete Volturi set. I like the idea of double agent Jasper. Very interesting. He could maybe work on befriending a few of the less bloodthirsty Volturi a little, and eventually try to lure them back toward the Cullens way of thinking, too. Alec would probably find it interesting, though Jane would kick him probably. ;) The Volturi have that one chick who makes their people loyal, too, so Jasper might genuinely start feeling like he belongs there and have to fight it, no?

Go go Volturi VS. The alaskan folk!

Supernatural beings - generic witches/warlocks are a little generic, so if we do that, I'd like to see something of a personalized touch. Maybe their powers are specific to a few old family lines or something? The ____ family all have something mental they can do, the ____ family can all control different elements, the ___ family have the ability to augment their physical abilities (run fast, levitate, etc.) And so forth?

Also it's established that the La Push gang are shifters, and that the wolf just happened to be the form - so what about other shifters with some other forms? A desert coyote group, a group that can go Grizzly or Kodiak bear, a group that can go tiger/mountain lion/pick a cat, etc. . . a tribe of shapeshifting, deadly bunnies. . . . heee. Maybe an aquatic sort of group from an island place? Can change into sharks or dolphins or something?

Umm. . . the only other obvious magic races springing to mind are the typical fantasy stuff. Fae, dragons, etc - and I think those are too far out for Twilight universe.

And yes, still on hiatus. Was just popping in while I was checking email from the hotel! *waves*

Deadly bunnies ftw lmao. But those are all good thoughts about the other supernatural types! After watching True Blood, I was definitely started thinking about including more shifters (and if S. Meyer says she hasn't read the Sookie Stackhouse books, I'm calling bullshit). But if we include witches, they're definitely not going to be the generic types either. Something more involved that has to do with a specific group of people or situation, I think.

Still, I don't want to get too far away from the Twilight universe either, so it will be long coming and slow goings when they start to show.

Giant hoppy bunnies of shapeshifting dooooooooom! And hee, True Blood. I so meant to catch up before I left and forgot. SMeyer claims not to have read/watched almost any vampire stuff before writing, from what I understand, but who knows. (She said she was going to watch Buffy after she finished BD, and my friend was cackling about how she'd be horrified by the premarital sex and canon lesbians.)

Sorry I'm late replying to this! I was meant to be more active in the chat but I was half asleep at the time :D I'm on the GMT time zone so anything earlier would be great in the future.

I think the plots sound cool. Since Bella doesn't need to know about Jasper she'll be confused, sad and possibly mad later on if she finds out Edward knew all along, ha :D

Also, before I disappeared did you mention something about a Bella and Felix meeting at some point?
