Somewhere in Wiltshire, the day Harry Potter left Hogwarts forever...

Lucius Malfoy, scion of the Malfoy Family Line and a true Pure-blood, found himself in a quandary. He had not been one of the lucky ones at His Master's current residence when The Daily Prophet had arrived, but he had been at his own family manor when Draco rushed into his study, the aforementioned paper clutched tightly in a white-knuckled grip. Lucius had never seen his son so flustered.

"Draco? What is it?" he wondered. Instead of answering, Draco slammed the paper on to the desk's surface before his father's astonished eyes. Lucius quickly read the letter that Harry Potter had sent to all the available media outlets, shocked that a mere child would do such a thing. After all, Lucius had but the thought into that idiot, Cornelius Fudge's head to try and smear the reputations of both Potter and Dumbledore. He did not expect the child his Lord despised would react so strongly. It was almost...Slytherin of him...

And then he read the last few lines and his jaw nearly hit the table. His face went red with his rage and he stood quickly, his chair flying across the room in his anger.

"How dare he try and ruin our Master's good name!" he hissed. Still not saying a word, Draco placed a scroll on the desk in front of his father. "What's this?"

"Read it, father." Draco gulped nervously. With jerky movements, Lucius yanked open the scroll, recognizing it as a family tree. He glanced at the name near the top, surprised to see it was the ancestry of Salazar Slytherin. He looked at his son.

"Where did you get this?"

"It's on display in the Slytherin common room on the wall next to his portrait. You've never noticed it before?" Draco replied.

"No, never. I always assumed it was just some random piece of art."

"It was...until Potter's letter came out. The moment the students read it, this parchment began to glow green and the picture changed to this." Draco told him. "Read it." Lucius turned his gaze back to the ancestry chart, scanning down each of the lines. Something caught his eye and if possible, his pale skin paled even further. Under where the name read "Tom Marvolo Riddle" there was this statement: "Riddle changed his name to Lord Voldemort in the early 60s after discovering the whereabouts of his muggle father, Tom Riddle Senior, murdering the man and his muggle stepmother and stepsister."

Shocked, Lucius looked at his only child, the one he had very nearly sacrificed to an insane mud-blood.

"What are we going to do, Father?" Draco asked.

"Do? I'll tell you what we're going to do." Lucius stated. "There is no bloody way in hell I am going to serve someone of dirty blood nor will I let my son do so. Find your mother and instruct the house elves to pack away anything valuable and destroy every dark object currently in my possession. We're getting the hell out of here at first opportunity."

Draco, having never seen his father in such a state, nodded quickly and ran out of the room. Lucius quickly changed the wards on the manor from passive to active, meaning that no one not of Malfoy blood would be able to enter the manor or the wards would vaporize them.

In a matter of moments, Malfoy Manor was empty of everything but basic pieces of furniture. The Malfoys themselves quickly fled to parts unknown, deciding to send Draco to a different school under a new name...
