Neville had been scrambling around, arranging things ever since he had gotten the ‘ok’ from Mother Cat to throw Megan a surprise birthday party. And since they hadn’t discussed their birth dates before, Megan didn’t know that Neville knew when her birthday was - so he was keeping quiet about that as well, wanting everything to be a total surprise.
He was in the greenhouse checking on one of Megan’s gifts, until he moved to his makeshift office just off of Greenhouse One and started composing invitations, and a letter to Susan asking a favour as well. The invitations were enchanted, so that if Megan was to happen upon one at someone’s home or business, all she would see would be an ad for used cauldrons. Neville smiled happily as he went about the whole process and hoped she would be as surprised and happy with her gifts he had for her on top of the party.

I’ve enclosed the invitation for the small surprise birthday party I’m putting together for Megan. Thank you again for smacking me about the head and telling me, otherwise I would have never known.

I do have a favour to ask of you though, a couple actually. The first is if Megan asks if I’m planning anything, don’t tell her... or even let on that I know it’s her birthday. I know, it’s awful of me to do that but, I want this to be a complete surprise. The second is if you could invite her out during the day on Saturday and keep her busy so I can set up? Let me know alright, I’ll owe you. We’ll probably have to work out a way of letting me know when you’ll be bringing her back to the Orphanage for the party.... I’m sure we can think of something.

Let me know if you want to get together during the week after class to prepare, I’m all for it.

Dear Friends, I’d like to cordially invite you to a Surprise Birthday Party for Megan Jones!!

Her mother, Catherine, has graciously permitted me to have the party at the Orphanage so that the kids could be there to wish ‘Miss Megan’ a Happy Birthday as well. So hopefully you can all make it, and feel free to bring a guest with you. There will be some refreshments and cake, so there’s no need to bring anything unless you’d like to give Megan a gift. The pertinent details are below, but if you have any questions, please owl me and enchant it accordingly, as Megan isn’t aware that I know it’s her birthday.
