I need some help....
Date and Time: 29 February, 2008 Evening
Characters: Ginny Weasley, Lavender Brown
Location: St. Mungo's
Private/Public: Public
Rating: PG
Warnings: None
Summary: Ginny goes to St. Mungo's for a headache potion and runs into an old friend.
Completion: complete

Ginny had just gotten off of work, and it had been a hard day. Madame Malkin had her running around and around like a mad woman. It had given Ginny a headache, and lately, the potions she bought pre-made didn't help her any. And she didn't have time to make her own potion.

She stepped out of the Floo and walked up to the head desk. "Excuse me. Ma'am? I need to see someone about getting a headache potion."

Lavender was working a shift in the clinic, more to keep from spending any more time than was absolutely necessary alone in her flat, than anything. It was also a nice change of pace from agonizing over the difficult cases upstairs. After the third Skiving Snackbox incident of the day, though, the novelty was wearing off. Tucking her quill behind her ear, she surveyed the waiting room, finding it miraculously empty, on her way back to the head desk. Filing the chart she had just finished with away, Lavender turned at the sound of a very familiar voice, to see her pretty red haired friend looking a bit frazzled.

“Ginny!” Lavender said, surprised. Placing a hand on the shoulder of the clerk behind the desk, she said, “Don’t worry Mary, I’ll take her back.” Moving around the desk, she started to lead Ginny to one of the exam rooms, when another thought occurred to her. “That is, of course, if you don’t mind me examining you, Gin.”

Ginny's slight frown turned into a smile when the nurse she had been speaking to turned around. She had instantly recognized her as she turned around. "Lavender! It's been a long time. I almost didn't recognize you."

Ginny started to follow Lavender back when she asked Ginny if she minded. She pretended to think about it very seriously. "Well as long as you don't let those hands wander. I'm sure they are cold, every doctor's hands are always cold."

Lavender smiled back at Ginny. It was very nice to see a friendly face. A neutral friendly face. She tried to return Ginny’s serious face, but couldn’t help the corners of her mouth quirking upward into a smile as she replied, “You drive a hard bargain Miss Weasley, but I will do my best. I may have to prod you a little extra to compensate…”

Lavender laughed softly, and opened the door to exam room three, gesturing for Ginny to enter the room, closing the door behind them. Sitting on the low, rolling stool and pulling out a chart, Lavender searched briefly for her quill before finding it tucked behind her ear. “Alright Ginny, you’ve been having headaches? Can you tell me about them? On a scale of one to ten, how severe are they? How often have you been getting them? Are they localized to a specific area? And what have you been taking for them?”

Ginny saw Lavender fail slightly at keeping a serious face. Ginny let the corners of her mouth turn up slightly too. "Well I guess I can agree to that. Better to be prodded than covered in bumps."

Ginny sat up on the examination table and watched Lavender search for her quill. Some things never changed. "Yes. They hurt and they always seem to be there. The scale depends on the scale for Madame Malkin. If she's in the extreme bitchy mood, well then it's a fifteen. If she's how she normally is, it's about a –“ Ginny stopped to try and guess how she would rate the average number. “I would say a five.”

Ginny pointed to the area that she got the headaches. “They seem to always just be there. I always get them right behind my eyes. And I've just been buying pre-made potions for them. They don't seem to help, and I don't have time to brew the potion myself. So that's why I'm here."

Ginny crossed her legs and tried to peek at Lavender’s sheet. “So how long do I have?”

Lavender nodded, taking notes as Ginny described her headaches, her quill scratching steadily across the chart. “Madame Malkin?” she asked curiously, looking up from the parchment for a moment. “Are you working for her now? I thought you were working for George?”

She arched an eyebrow when Ginny leaned in, trying to look at the sheet. “Trying to peek?” Lavender asked in a teasing tone. “Well, the good news is that I think you’ll live. Ooo, but a fifteen? That’s rough. So you’ve been under more stress than normal? They sound like tension headaches to me. I’m just going to do a quick scan to make sure that it’s nothing more serious, though the chances are slim.” She paused, waiting for Ginny to consent before standing and swishing her wand, muttering softly to herself.

"Yes, just last month I started as an intern under her. One month down, of two years. I still do paperwork for George, and I work at the shop on Wednesdays if I'm needed, which isn't often since it isn't the summer and Christmas is over."

Ginny sat up straight and put on an innocent shocked face. "I would never!" Ginny smiled at Lavender and winked. She listened to her as she went on.

"I'll live? Well that's good to know. A fifteen is usually what I'm dealt. I've had a complete stress change. I was used to the five level happening every once in a while. Now a fifteen pretty much every day is an overload."

Ginny nodded her agreement to let Lavender scan her. "I guess this is where the extra prodding comes in." After that Ginny stayed quiet letting Lavender work.

“Wow,” Lavender said, her tone obviously impressed. “That’s true dedication. Madame Malkin is infamous for being terrible to the few interns she takes. But when you get out, you have some of the best training in the business. And you’re still doing the paperwork for George? You are a busy woman.” Madame Malkin was known throughout the trade as being very particular, which was part of what made her robes so great. Lavender’s mum would often praise the other witch’s work, as prickly as she was in person- at least to people who weren’t customers.

Lavender laughed at Ginny’s innocent face. “You’re really good at that, though growing up with all your brothers, I can’t say as I’m surprised.”

Watching the magical color charts above Ginny’s head, Lavender directed them silently with her wand, inspecting them very closely. With a half smile she said as dryly as possible, “Oh no, this is just normal prodding. I’ll save the extra prodding for later.” Ah, well, she never had been able to keep a straight face. “Everything looks normal here.” Lavender announced, reclaiming her seat. “Alright, you have some options. For the stress, I could give you a mild calming draught. Most people don’t experience any drowsiness with it, but it isn’t unheard of, along with all the other normal effects of a calming drought. That would probably help with the severity of the headaches, making the store bought potions more helpful. Or, as long as you’re not pregnant, I can give you some stronger headache potions. But, some people have a strange side effect, a euphoric feeling, and some trouble concentrating on difficult tasks. Again, it is not common, but possible. It is usually very well tolerated. You don’t have any allergies, do you?”

"True dedication or true stupidity? I guess I've never looked at how she treated interns. I just knew that I couldn't learn from anyone else." Ginny sighed. "And it's only been a month, but I feel like my views of robes are completely different. The paperwork is easy for the shop. Compared to how it was when I first started it a few years back."

Ginny smiled brightly when Lavender laughed at her innocent face. "And my Mum still thinks I'm the best child she has. My poor brothers."

"Well, options are nice. I'm most certainly not pregnant, much to my Mum's disappointment. I think I might go for the first option. But would I have to take the calming drought on a need-to basis? Or on a schedule? And no, no allergies."

“My mum’s in the trade – she owns a little shop in London. I’ve heard about Madame Malkin for years. She’s well respected for her work, and avoided at all cost if you’re a competitor,” Lavender smiled a little to herself, thinking of her mother’s rants about the other witch. “Whipped the shop into shape, have you? That’s quite impressive.”

She laughed again at Ginny’s smile. “Well, they do say that ignorance is bliss. Ah, well, you are her youngest, all rose-tinted and pristine.”

Nodding as Ginny asked her questions and answered Lavender’s, she thought a moment before responding, “Well, sometimes when you’re having frequent headaches, all you have to do is break the cycle, and they will return far less frequently and usually not as severe. So, I would say to take the calming draught every day for a few weeks, to break the cycle, and then slowly decrease the frequency to an as-needed basis. You should contact me or another healer before decreasing the dosage. And you need to report any strange side effects you might have. I recommend a follow up in about a month, to make sure that everything is working as it should. Of course, if you find that it isn’t as effective as you need, contact us, and we can reassess your options. You also have to make sure that you are eating enough and drinking plenty of water. Dehydration always makes a headache worse. Any other questions? Or major life decisions that I should know about?”

"I didn't know your Mum was in the trade. That's great. I'll have to disguise myself and go check out her shop. Malkin would kill me if she knew I went to another shop." Ginny thought about what it would be like when she was done at Malkin's. If Ginny met her on the street, would it be awkward?

"It took me months to get that shop into shape. I threatened George with a hex if he ever let it get wild again. He told me I should save us the trouble and just do it. So I have. It's really not that bad."

Ginny listened carefully as Lavender told her what to do. She worried about the eating enough comment. Working so much kept her from eating. And when she got the chance, her headaches were too bad that she didn't feel like eating. In fact, Ginny had stopped working out as much because she was too busy, and she still managed to lose a few pounds. "No questions for now. But if I have any, I'll make sure to owl you. How does that sound?"

Ginny looked down at her watch and saw it was the dinner hour. "So you get off soon? Maybe we can get a bite to eat and catch up."

“A disguise? Should I warn Mum that you’re spying for the competition?” Lavender teased. “It’s just a small shop, not much to it really. All with a ‘quirky flare’,” she smiled, waving her arms in the dramatic manner of her mother.

Lavender shuddered theatrically at the mention of hexes, “Ooo, that’s no idle threat either. I would not want to be on the wrong end of that wand of yours.”

The look on Ginny’s face when she was explaining the draught made Lavender watch her curiously, but she wrote it off as just the other witch taking in the information. Sure, that was it. Ginny was just taking mental notes. “Owl would be perfect.”

Leaning over, it was Lavender’s turn to peek, this time at Ginny’s watch. Her shift was coming to a close, and it would be nice not to eat leftovers in her kitchen while Hyacinth watched her with a disapproving look. How an owl could look disapproving, she had yet to figure out, but Hyacinth managed it. Lavender smiled brightly at the invitation. “Absolutely, I’d love to have dinner with you, Gin. Let’s get you a supply of those calming draughts, I’ll make sure that you are, indeed, my last patient of the day -they’ll be pleased to see me leave on time for once, I’m sure- and we’ll go get some dinner.”

Leading the way back to the front desk, Lavender directed Ginny back to the nurse sitting there. “Mary, would you please take care of Miss Weasley, here. She’s going to need a supply of these,” she slid the note across the desk, “and an appointment in about a month.” Leaving Ginny in Mary’s capable hands, Lavender moved off to file the chart and to make sure the waiting room was still empty. Miracle of miracles, thank Merlin, or whoever was responsible, but it was. She was relieved. The boss was right; she had been spending entirely too much time here at work, mostly obsessing over the Clearwater case, and her inability to make headway. Loosening the knot that held her hair out of her face, she returned to the desk, smiling at Ginny and asking, “What sounds good to you?”

"Yes a disguise. But don't warn her of that. Warn her that a friend of yours is coming in to shop at the competition, but if Madame Malkin discovered me, we would both be toast. So what do you think of me with blonde hair? Maybe brown?"

Ginny smiled at Lavender waving her arms around. "Well I happen to just love 'quirky flare'. I mean, I do live with Luna Lovegood and she is my best friend."

Ginny saw Lavender's curious look, but she just gave her a smile letting her know she was fine. "Great."

Ginny held her wrist out so Lavender could get a better look at her watch. Ginny grew excited when Lavender said she was able to make it to dinner with her. "Oh that's great! I wasn't looking forward to wine and bread."

Ginny followed Lavender out to the desk and smiled at Mary. As Lavender left Ginny looked over the counter at the calendar Mary had just opened to April. "Wednesdays and evenings are best for me, Mary. And I prefer to see Lavender again if you don't mind." When Mary gave Ginny a look that said she did mind and very much, Ginny stood back and smiled.

Ginny and Mary had just finished up when Lavender came back. "I'm usually up for anything as long as the place serves wine. How about you?"

Lavender giggled at Ginny’s description of what would become of her if Malkin ever found out she had been to a rival shop. “’Toast’ sounds pretty accurate. I think I will warn my mum, seeing as how I am rather fond of her and I’d like to keep her around a while yet.” Cocking her head to the side, she gave Ginny an appraising look that just promised some sort of girly torture. “Ooo! Brunette, definitely. With big, fat curls to frame your face nicely and make those eyes of yours pop.” Lavender paused for a moment, before laughing at herself again. She supposed some things would never change, even if she wouldn’t mind them to.

“Yes, well, Luna is the best kind of quirky flare,” she declared with a decisive nod of her head. She found it a little odd, but Lavender actually missed hearing about all of the strange creatures and conspiracies that Luna would explain in the most matter-of-fact tones.

Lavender briefly covered her eyes in dismay at Ginny’s comment, before admonishing, “Ginny Weasley! Wine and bread is not dinner. Part of dinner, sure, but not dinner. It’s a good thing we’re going out. We are going to get real food in you.”

Smiling at Ginny and the slightly disgruntled looking Mary, Lavender stuck her quill on the other side of the desk for safekeeping, and bid Mary a good night. She linked arms with Ginny and headed toward the floos. Thinking for a moment, she considered their options, “How do you feel about Thai food?”

Ginny tipped her head to the side and went "Aw! That's cute. Malkin could have my Mum. Especially when she starts in on her baby and wedding talk. I like to help out if it's going in the direction of my brothers. But me, not so much."

Ginny listened to Lavender describe how her hair should be. "You really think so? I was worried I wouldn't look good. But I'll look into it." Ginny said laughing.

Ginny laughed and thought of Luna. "She is. She makes life so fun. And she does weekly checks to make sure the flat is perfectly protected."

Ginny knew she was about to be spoken to like a child. And there it is. "I know it's not a dinner! But I can't cook to save my life, Luna neither. And someone told me that a healer told them that a person can't live on take out alone. So I was just cutting back."

Ginny gave Lavender a small apologetic smile. "But now I have my own personal healer-friend to teach me the correct ways of eating."

Ginny waved to Mary too, and linked her arm with Lavender. "Thai food sounds great, what do they serve? I don't believe I've ever had it."

“You have a devious little mind there,” Lavender said with a tone of awe in her voice. “At least you aren’t the only possible source for grandchildren. That’s a lot of pressure on a girl. Not to mention that my mum likes to remind me that I’m not getting any younger… and neither is she.” She sighed and shook her head. “If you’re clever, and I’m sure you are, you can deflect the attention to one of your brothers.”

Cocking her head to the side, she looked Ginny over appraisingly again, and gave the standard unholy smirk, “Well, there’s no question that red is gorgeous on you, but the right shade of brown could be fantastic.” Gnawing on her lower lip, Lavender thought for a moment, before laughing softly, “You know, you really shouldn’t get me started. I’m not sure you know what you’re getting yourself into.”

Lavender bit the inside of her lower lip to keep from saying anything else. Oh, she had gone into lecture mode, hadn’t she? Ginny didn’t look terribly excited about that. It had just been habit. Lavender smiled broadly and gave Ginny a little overly dramatic bow, “Oh yes, your own personal nutrition pseudo-expert at your service. Owl me any time with your eating questions. Hey, maybe we could even run into each other on purpose next time.” Now that was a novel idea.

“Ah, I must admit that I fell in love with the Americanized version of Thai food, but as far as I’m concerned, you can’t go wrong with curry. Or Pad Thai…”

Ginny tried to look innocent, but she was on the verge of laughing. "Me? Have a devious mind? Well I would be lying if I said I wasn't flattered."

Ginny went from looking innocent to give her friend a slight pout. "You poor dear. I would hate to be the only child source in my family. I promise you if that was the case my Mum would have made sure I was married by now, and probably to Harry if she had her choice."

Ginny sighed and went on, "And if I wasn't married yet, I would be having dinner at her house every night with a new guy that has husband material. Which to my Mum would include being able to have children. I admire that you have been able to hold out this long. That takes a lot of strength, bravery, and if it were me, lots of alcohol."

Ginny laughed. "Well how about this, when I need to change hair color, I'll go ahead and owl you, and you can help me choose my new hair."

Ginny pretended to ponder the thought of running into Lavender on purpose. "I never heard of such an idea. How does such a thing work? It must be bloody complicated."

"Just go slow with me, Lavender, I'm a Thai-food-virgin. We can't just rush right into these kinds of things. We've got to do this right." Ginny finished off giggling.

Lavender laughed at Ginny’s pout. “You know, my tarot card reading skills must be truly awful because back in school I had you pegged down for marrying Harry, and Hermione with Ron, both sets of you with a couple of kids each by now. Didn’t figure I’d still be single either…” she shrugged, “but I’m not complaining too much.” Just a little…

“Well, with me, it took being out of the country for six years and a failed engagement…” she trailed off, not liking to talk about Mark, and her failed relationship. “You mean your mum isn’t shooting for that anyway? I figured she’d be setting up the lot of you any chance she got.”

Lavender’s eyes lit up –ah girly girl to the core. “I’ll count on that.” With a dramatic flip of her hair, and a little smirk, she added, “I’m always glad to offer my considerable skill with all of your beauty needs.” She couldn’t help it, she laughed at her silly display. It was rather nice to have a friend around again. Lavender had missed this. Ginny had always been such fun.

Putting on her best vacant expression, and making her voice light and airy, Lavender said, “You know, I’m not really sure… I think it might involve an owl? Bloody complicated indeed.”

Fighting off the giggle that threatened, Lavender did her best to make her tone sultry. Giving Ginny a wink and a smile, she assured, “Don’t worry, I’ll be gentle.” She just barely managed to get her sentence out before dissolving into giggles of her own.

Ginny gave a nervous chuckle. She didn't want to insult Lavender, but Ginny went on. "I think they were half right. When we were back in school, that's what I really wanted. Before the war, I was a different person. I think we all were. But after the war, that wasn’t really what was meant for me. Harry and I are still close, but in more of a friend way.”

Ginny gave a true laugh. “And I wouldn’t mind having a child of his now. Maybe then my Mum might stop with the more grandkids thing. And she might not be so sad that Harry wasn’t made a true Weasley. Even though I would have been a Potter.”

Ginny smiled at Lavender after she mentioned a failed engagement. “It’s probably a good thing you are still single. You have done something great with your life. You save other lives, Lavender. Would you be doing that if you had gotten married right away? I think my Mum might have become a Healer if she hadn’t married my Dad right away. Not that I’m complaining. I like the way my family is, but it easily could have been different. And you’re just in your twenties! You have your whole life a head of you. At least a hundred years. Don’t worry too much about it. Besides, you’re the same Lavender we all know and love! We can’t complain about that!”

Ginny pretended to act a little worried. “Am I really that bad off?” She looked down at her outfit. “I thought I was doing just fine.” Ginny kind of slowed walking and turned her bum at Lavender. “How do my buns look, Madame Beauty Healer?” Ginny laughed and shook her bum at Lavender a little. She turned and walked right with her again. “I’m glad you’re back. You were always so much fun.”

Ginny shook her head. “I can’t do this. Let’s just plan on bumping into each other on accident every Wednesday at 8:00pm for drinks at the Leaky Cauldron. How does that sound? A weekly planned accidental meeting for some girl time. And I can even ask Hermione to come one of these times. And Susan and Luna. Too bad we don’t have the whole gang of girls around. Then we could make it a habit for us to meet up to take a break from daily life, just like we used to take a break from schoolwork. Well all of us girls except for Hermione. She always brought a book with her.”

Ginny giggled along with Lavender. She barely chocked out “Harry said the same thing!” Yes, Ginny did miss all the girls from her school days. Ginny didn’t know if Lavender knew, but Ginny was serious about all the girls getting together.

Lavender realized that Ginny was a touch nervous, and seemed to choose her words carefully. “Worry not Gin, I’ve long since come to the conclusion that a good portion of our dramatic divination ‘education’ was bollocks. Not all of it, but rather a lot. At least if you don’t have the gift of ‘the sight’ anyway.”

She thought a moment, staring off contemplatively. “I don’t think that any of us have really ended up where we expected to be. We were all different people back then. Hell Ginny, we were just a bunch of kids.” Lavender fought the urge to rub at her scar, but her hand twitched, and she ducked her head a little.

“Harry’s been a Weasley since he was eleven years old, official or not.” Lavender paused for just a moment, before adding, “Not to mention the fact that even if your name changed on paper, there’s no way anyone could take the Weasley out of you. Who would want to do such a thing? Unthinkable.”

Blushing a little as Ginny told her that she had done something great with her life, Lavender returned her smile. “Thanks. And I do love my job –most days, anyway. Feel free to give me a good kick in the arse any time I start whining. I’d appreciate it.” She smiled at her being the same Lavender comment, knowing that Ginny meant it well.

Lavender laughed at Ginny’s display. “Fishing for compliments, Miss Weasley?” she asked with a quirked eyebrow and a teasing tone. “As if you, my dear, haven’t always been gorgeous. I was just offering a little… help.” She smiled broadly, “I was just thinking the same thing.”

“Oh, Ginny, you are brilliant!” Lavender beamed with a laugh. “You always did have the best ideas. I would love to see the girls again, as many as are still around. A -how did you put it?- planned accidental meeting for girly-ness sounds perfect.”

Lavender snorted, loudly, with the force of her laugh. That was a tad embarrassing, but she didn’t so much care at the moment. It was very nice to be back. It was excellent to be here with her old friend making jokes. Managing a wistful look and an airy tone after a minute, she said, “Don’t they all?”

Ginny let out a dramatic sigh of relief. "Well I'm glad you've finally figured that out." Ginny sent Lavender a wink to let her know she was joking.

Ginny decided to just let that topic rest. She was having too much fun to ruin the mood. So she just gave Lavender a look to make her smile. "Moving on."

Ginny thought back to the first time she had seen Harry at the train station. He was so different now compared to that scrawny little thing. But Ginny knew deep down, that Harry was still somewhere in there. "Yes, he is. And I don't think anyone would want to change that. Not Harry or the rest of us Weasleys. We love Harry, and I couldn't imagine my family without him."

Ginny tried to think about being someone else. "Ginny Brown. Ginny Lovegood, no. Ginny Granger. No, don’t like the double initials. Ginny Potter? Ginny Thomas? Ginny Corner? Definitely not!" ‘Ginny -- no, shouldn’t think that. It will never happen.’ Ginny had run through the list of all her old boyfriends, and the last names of the friends she could think of right off hand. None of them seemed right. “No, I don't think I could ever be anyone else. Which means when I get married, the man will have to take my name.”

As they walked into muggle London, Ginny laughed. "Deal. But I expect you to do the same to me." Ginny paused for a moment before continuing. "After you work for Malkin for a week." Ginny knew she was whining and she had gotten herself into this mess, but she hadn't expected a psycho boss.

Ginny acted offended and pointed to herself. "Me?! Fishing for compliments? No! Never! If I want a compliment, I'll just ask for one." Ginny looked around at all the muggles eyeing the two beautiful girls. She got an evil grin on her face and she walked ahead of Lavender quickly. As she passed she smirked at Lavender and whispered quickly. “Or I’ll just do this.”

Ginny started to walk in a way that swayed her hips. If her brothers ever would have seen it, they’d hex her for trying to attract attention. Which is what she did. Ginny looked over her shoulder at Lavender and raised her eyebrow. “Won’t you join me? Turning heads is so much fun.” Ginny held out her arm for Lavender to link with her.

“I haven’t always been gorgeous. I used to be a mess at school. Remember how many times you tried to get me to do my hair instead of wearing it in a single braid? You said I’d never get a guy if I didn’t act like I wanted one. And look at me now! Single! You were right. Dang it. I will gladly accept any help you could give me. At least now I’m willing to accept it than willing to push you down the stairs when you came at me with a brush.”

Ginny felt proud when Lavender liked her idea. “We can call it the Planned Accidental Get Together for Adult Girly-ness. PAG-TAG! Yes, I think that would be lovely. But let’s do it in about a month or so. And make it once a month. We can’t always get away every week. So how about the second Wednesday at 8:00pm? Sound good?”

Ginny snorted after hearing Lavender snort. She was sure people would think them crazy and pissed, but Ginny didn’t care. She was sure they would be worse after some drinks, but she enjoyed being able to act this way with out. “Yes, they all do. But the only thing about Harry was, was that he was gentle! Blast he was great in bed. So do tell Lavender, who was the best in bed for you?” Ginny wiggled her eyebrows at Lavender and started to giggle again.

Lavender laughed as Ginny went through her possible names. “Take your name! I always knew you Weasleys were trying to take over the world.” She pretended to eye Ginny warily, before batting her eyelashes prettily, “But since I love you all so, I’ll be spared… right?”

She put on a terrified face and shook her head, “No way that I would last with Malkin for a week. I’d throw a fit with her picking me apart. I am quite impressed that you’re doing so well. After all- she’s still intact and without any attacking bogies, so I’d call that excellent restraint on your part.” Lavender nodded firmly. “Beside all that though, you like it right? You are learning from her? Fashion’s what you want to do still? She hasn’t managed to kill your dream?”

Ginny certainly knew how to attract attention. Lavender didn’t think that a single man –or many women for that matter- passed without nearly giving themselves whiplash watching her sway. Linking her arm through Ginny’s offered one, Lavender laughed and winked, “Just try to keep these hips from swaying. I haven’t been much of a head turner lately.”

“Ah, but that was just because you had such potential, that you just refused to accept. And I’m still single too, so fat lot of good my advice did me.” She gave Ginny an appraising look, “… Stairs huh? Well, remind me to stay on your good side, won’t you? And I promise to warn you before I attack with a hairbrush,” she added solemnly with a raised hand as if making a vow.

“Perfect, absolutely perfect,” Lavender beamed. “Second Wednesday it is. I will be there.”

Laughing again, she ran a hand through her hair, and said, “Ah, Ginny Weasley, the girl-who-shagged-the-boy-who-lived! Brand new moniker for The Prophet. I’d imagine he’d be great… all that intensity directed straight at you… Not that I’ve been thinking about it, really,” she shifted her eyes, looking guilty, before giggling some more. There was something very wrong in her head about thinking about how Harry would be in bed… “Hmmm… my best shag? That sounds like a conversation requiring a few drinks,” she evaded with a wink.

"What is it with people thinking my family is trying to take over the world? First Draco Malfoy, then Greg, and now you. I'm getting a bad vibe from this. Of course I'll spare you." Ginny said with a side look.

"Doing so well? Did I just not tell you about my stress level being so high I can barely stand it? I am learning from her, but some days I wonder if it's really worth it."

"I'm not about to stop those hips. I want these hips to sway away too."

"I only had that potential because of you. But I promise to let your brush my hair now. I won't push you down any stairs." Ginny said laughing.

"And so will I." Ginny said with a smile.

"Don't you dare give them that. Harry would kill me."Ginny didn't even want to think about what Harry would do if that came up in the Prophet. "Are you kidding? Sometimes I still think about it. He was a great one. I should owl him. Haven't talked to him in a while."

"And a few drinks we shall have. And you can share it all."

Ginny and Lavender continued on walking and they enjoyed the rest of the night. Drinking and laughing and having fun.
