I'm being let out! I have to go back up for checkups but they're letting me go home in time for the weekend. Does anyone feel up to a little Christmas shopping?

I feel useless. There are things happening, yet I am powerless to do anything despite how much I desire to help. The one person I could be of any use to, tells me she does not need me. I can only stand aside and wait for news while others actually do something.
And as much as I want to do everything I can, I am ashamed that my mind still strays elsewhere. I am disgusted with myself that I could think of anything but the situation at hand. But it seems I have as little control over my thoughts as I do over what goes on around me.
And they are such pointless thoughts...A waste of my time as nothing will come of them.

Sometimes travelling for business can be quite a welcome relief. Nothing can make one appreciate the beauty of Chicago like seeing the horror of that is half the other cities again.
Downside, of course, is delays in traffic and the annoyances of holiday traffic making one miss their holiday plans.

A call to all Chicago Musicians: Alaine Locke Elementary Needs Your Help! Alaine Locke serves hundreds of children (Pre-K through grade 8). Due to budget short falls, they believe they will have to cut their music program. For many of these kids, the school program is the only avenue for developing their musical talents. Musically talented? Available December 8th? In honor of Imagine Day, please join me at the Chicago Jazz Club. All proceeds will go to benefit the Alaine Locke Music Program. ( Happy Holidays ) |
