Who Cameron & Cross
What Getting Shitfaced
When Thursday Evening
Where The Lantern
Status In Progress
Rating R? Cross has the mouth of a sailor and blunt as cow shit.

Looking down at her phone she'd nod to herself as she shifted to slide it back into her back pocket once she had got the last message. Good thing he wanted to meet there, because that is where she already was. Things had been quiet on her end, which made for some pretty dull times as well. Of course there was plenty going on over at the strip club, and she'd keep her eye on those girls when she was working as best she could. Still didn't manage to get her into the same mood that fucking some poor guy's face up could.

Cross was sitting towards the back of the establishment tonight, a little more quiet back there and up until the spur of the moment decision to get shitfaced with him tonight, this seemed like the place to be. Legs clad in black leather stretched out beneath the table as she sat back in the chair now. Curious eyes glanced around from time to time as she seen a few faces that were familiar, but no one worth her time at the moment. Thick lips curled into a smile at the thought as she brought that pint to her lips and waited for Cameron to show.

Things weren't going that well in the world of Cameron Drake lately. Aside from really enjoying whatever was happening between him and Ash, anyway. Riles was not happy with him. Pico didn't seem very happy with him lately which was awkward considering she was living him currently. There was the "incident" at the strip club Monday night, not to mention Rory's need to poke at the batshit crazy Russians. All these things had Cam feeling just a little on edge and more than ready to forget it all by getting as shitfaced as humanly possible. Good plan, yes? Yes.

He was glad Cross had sent him that text, glad she was in the mood to drink (when wasn't she), and glad that they were doing it at Lantern. If he went back into the strip club too soon, he might get an earful. He wondered if Cross knew about it or if she'd been there that night. He had been too preoccupied with nearly naked Ash to notice much of anything else.

Cam was clad in his usual casual affair; jeans, a long sleeve black t-shirt, jacket to hide the guns at his back, and heavy black boots that would have sounded against the wood floor if not for the regular bar noise. He stopped at the bar first thing, getting a cold beer from tap and then looked around for Cross. Spotting her near the back, his brows drew together, wondering why she wasn't seated at the bar tonight. He headed back, nodding in response to a few greetings, and plopped down in the chair across from her. "Cross. I see you plan to get me drunk and seduce me. Again," he teased, taking a swig of the beer before setting it down.

Had she known thing's weren't doing so hot, she would have ordered a round of two for when he got here. Then again these two hadn't done too much talking since the last time they got drunk at the bar. Cross tend to do that though, vanish for a while. She kept her where abouts known to those that she had to, but other than that she was easily off the radar. This time she had gone and done a job, conning was just too fun and came all too easy for her not to pass up.

She had heard about the incident at the club, or at least bits and pieces of something that had happened. Not the full details though, not yet anyway. Tonight she was feeling a bit on edge, so the drinks would hopefully break that down for her a little bit. Otherwise nothing much was going to be able to lift her moods from the momentary funk that she was stuck in for no reason at all.

Long strands of hair fell from her shoulders and framed her face as she looked at him once he plopped down. Always a smart ass, she grinned as she shook her head. "Hmmm, am I that easy to read? I must be slipping," blowing him a kiss and winking before she let out a bit of a laugh. Sitting up from her otherwise slouched position she would take her glass into her hand and have another healthy drink from it. Those leather pants she had on were topped by the black long sleeve shirt she had on and the heeled boots that were of course a bit of a trademark. She'd bashed many a balls and skulls with them, they went with everything.

"So how the hell have you been?" She even sounded like she cared.

Cross was gorgeous, sexy, she could kick some ass and drink him under the table if he was having an off night. She was basically everything Cam found attractive in a woman. But more than that, he actually liked her. She was exactly the kind of woman he'd enjoy in his bed. Or she was the kind of woman he'd enjoy getting shitfaced in a bar with and accept the fact that she wasn't going to fall into his bed. Not that he was looking to get laid tonight anyway. If he was, he had a petite little blonde on his brain. It might be fun if Cross decided to kick his ass though, or share in some snarky banter because she was fucking awesome at that. All in all, Cameron just fucking liked her.

He laughed when she winded and blew him a kiss, watching her momentarily as she took a swig of her beer. He did the same then, draining half the mug before returning it to the table top. She asked how things were and he replied with, "I shouldn't complain, it's not sexy." A smirk touched his lips briefly and then vanished. "I dunno, shit's been crazy. I feel...out of control?" That one almost made him laugh out loud. When was he ever in control? There were definitely times when Conor would need to reign him in before he went apeshit. Which was nothing like batshit. Batshit was reserved solely for the Russians.

"What about you? You went away. What were you doing?" he inquired, figuring she wouldn't say but asking anyway. He turned abruptly in his seat as a waitress passed, caught her attention, and ordered them each a shot.

Letting out a small chuckle at the mention of complaining not being sexy before she focused a bit more on what he was actually saying now. Nodding her head lightly now, of course the feeling of being out of control had been felt by her. As it is with most people at some point in their life. Had Cameron been anyone else besides himself, this would have been the point that she left it at that and just took a drink from her beer.

"Out of control..." She let her mind roll over that for a moment. "Care to elaborate on that one, sweetie?" She asked as her interest pulled enough, not to mention that his smile had nearly dropped off the planet once he spoke as well.

"I was out of town for a little while, a side business proposition I wasn't about to turn down." Glancing over at the waitress as she was told to bring around two shots before she looked back towards Cameron now. "I also had some personal business to take care of back home." Offering the slight of a smile as she cleared her throat and took another drink to top off her now empty pint glass as she set it down.

"I would elaborate if I even knew where to begin. Let me just say this," he paused for dramatic effect, "women are nuts." He gave her a wink and smirk lifted his beer to chug. After all, he had to keep up with her. But knowing Cross, she wasn't on her first beer like he was. Oh well, his advantage. He wasn't sure why drinking with Cross always turned into some kind of competition. Probably because she could out drink him every now and then. Maybe always but he wasn't counting the times they ended in a tie, both stumbling out of the bar at closing.

Were women really the sole source of his lack of control lately? Yeah, pretty much. As far as he could tell anyway. First there was Pico and getting mixed up with her family feud with her brother who just happened to be Italian affiliated and in a major way. Of course all of that included Penny the Italian affiliated drug dealer. Then there was Ash and fucking all that up and upsetting his sister, not to mention busting some bones and breaking some teeth (not his own) at Holy Ground. It wasn't that nothing like that had ever happened with Cameron before though. He just had few boundaries and when there wasn't anyone around to tell him no, he just kept going.

He shrugged, glancing up when the waitress sat their shots down. He gave the woman a grin and then turned his attention back to Cross. "Side business proposition, huh?" he asked. "I'm betting there's a lot more detail to it than that. Cheers?" He lifted his shot and tossed it back.

Her brow raised curiously at the crazy statement. He better have something to back that up, considering he was talking to a woman for starters. This was far from the first beer that she was having, though that wasn't for him to know either. Cross led a very interesting life, and today her life consisted of sitting at the bar for the better part of it as well. Served good enough fair, had a paper earlier, went for a small walk, and then she came back. Happened to be one of the prices of not having a social life was spending far too much money on pints and thoughts.

"I really hope...for the sake of your balls which are in perfect alignment with the heel of my boot right now, that you have something to back up that theory of yours." Her lips pulling into a wicked grin as she went ahead and lifted her foot under the table and tapped against his thigh. Of course, she wouldn't really kill his chances of ever reproducing, but it was fun to tease at the thought. Kept it interesting.

"Mmm a lot more. Cheers." Lifting her shot up she would take it back now and let it burn the back of her throat as she put the shot glass back down on the table now. Taking a moment as she let it warm her insides up before she spoke again. "I was - out of state, handling a gentlemen that thought he was dealing with a diplomatic wife for blackmail and woke up on morning very alone, and very poor." There was no smug grin on her lips though, it wasn't a joy to ruin lives, it just business and it kept her lifestyle in tact.

Cameron laughed out loud at her threat but not because he didn't think she might actually do it. He just loved her for making the threat in the first place. If Cam was ever going to get into a bar fight with a female for backup, she'd be the one he'd want having his six. Cross was badass, no doubt. He felt her tap his thigh and he responded with, "Watch it, you're turning me on." That wicked little grin on her face just made it all that much hotter. She was sexy.

He nodded at her explanation of her business trip, his expression just as solemn. Cam understood the serious nature of business though he preferred to joke even when it was inappropriate. Even if someone was pointing a gun at him. And the fuck if he shouldn't have just ordered about a dozen of those shots for the two of them. Damn.

"Were you at the ball? Did you hear about the shots being fired. I haven't heard what that was all about. Probably the crazy Russians." Actually Cam had no idea and had no plans to worry about it until he was given a reason to.

That earned him a roll of the eyes. "Wouldn't want to do that. Walking around a pub with a hard on, might offend one of the waitress' unless of course - they've already had the pleasure." She posed that thought with a smirk on her lips once again. Fingers swept back the loose strands of hair as she sat back comfortably in her chair once again.

The more shots the merrier, wasn't that the saying? Maybe not, but could be for these two at this point. "I wasn't at the ball, no. That was a nice night in for me, woman doesn't go to something like that without a date." She paused for a moment thinking she may have given away too much information their, and possibly ammo for him to fight back with if she picks on him.

"I heard a little bit about what happened though, the news and papers are good for making it out bigger than it really was though. Russians are good for being crazy though. You hear anything from Conor about it?" She was antsy to torture people..she couldn't help it. She hadn't done anything 'exciting' in months...nothing.

Yes, some of the waitresses working there had already had the pleasure. What could he say? He was a manwhore. A guy had needs right? And the "right girl" hadn't come along yet. Funny how that thought made him think of Ash. Too bad that wasn't gonna work out so well for him. He caught the attention of the same waitress again and held up his hands to show her wanted ten more of those shots. Cam didn't have twelve fingers. Bummer. Ten would have to do for now, five for each of them.

When Cross mentioned not having a date, Cam just stared at her. How did someone like Cross not have a date? She was fucking smokin'. "What? Bullshit," he barked. "You could have any guy you wanted as arm candy." Unless of course the guy found her intimidating, which Cam could see. He might be intimidated too if he was smart enough to be.

He shook his head at the mention of word from Conor. "Nah, haven't heard much from the boss lately." The shots were delivered, set on the table one by one, between them. Cam eyed them and then shot a challenging look at Cross. "You up for this?"

Of course some of the waitresses working there had already had the pleasure. Look at him, well built, handsome, sense of humor, not to mention Cross' favorite attribute being that he loved using guns, not to mention he actually knew how to use one - the right way. She was pretty damn fond of him if she was honest with herself, but he didn't need to know that information. He knew he was good looking, and she didn't feed ego's.

Guys, girls, they all found her to be intimidating though she didn't mind all that much either. Kept things more simple for her in the long run. "I shit you not, but it's no sweat off my back." Literally, actually. "Did you end up going?"

Watching as the shots were sat down at the table now, she sat a bit more upright as she counted them quickly and nodded her head. Looking up and over at Cam now as he challenged her after mentioning nothing heard from Conor these days. "Your kidding right?" She cocked her head to the side a bit and smiled at him, "I just hope your up for this, kid."

"Yes," he replied. "I did go to the ball. Got all dressed up in a penguin suit and everything. I escorted my sister and Aislinn." And shots being fired in any generalized area that his sister occupied was not cool. He'd nearly tackled her to the floor in his panicked need to protect her from any stray bullets. As far as Cameron knew, no one was hit. He was almost surprised he didn't get shot in the ass. That would have completely put a damper on his evening with Ash. He shrugged and added, "Eh, it wasn't that bad."

Cameron laughed when she tossed the challenge right back at him. He was definitely up for it. Whether or not he'd still be upright at the end of the night would remain to be seen. But he was in a mood. A drinking mood. So, bring it on!

"Ready?" he asked, reaching for the first shot. "Here's to good Irish liquor and decent company to share it with," he smirked, lifting the shot in a salute before downing it. "Oh it burns," he joked. Lucky for Cam, he actually had an iron stomach. "Second one. Here's to the two of us being hot. Cheers."

Her brows lifted in a bit of amazement when he said he had taken his sister, and not a date. "How come your sister and not..." She wanted to go ahead and say something along the lines of a busty tramp or something distasteful like that but she didn't. "...a date?" That worked better, much better. "At least you had a good time then."

"Of course I am." She smiled wickedly over at him as she looked down at the shot glasses now. Picking up the first she'd hold it up at his words. "I can drink to that," she quickly commented before downing that first one - well with him - and letting it run down the back of her throat. Mixing beer with shots, oh this might turn out to be a very interesting night. She could handle her alcohol like a champ, as long as she didn't mix it with beer, which she was now doing.

Setting the shot glass down she smiled over at him as she shook her head at his messing around. "Your probably not lying either," teasing back of course. Grabbing up that second shot glass now she would hold it up as well. "Mmm okay I think I'm going to drink two to that one." A slight of challenge as she picked up the second shot glass in her other hand now and went one after the other.

Cam lifted a brow in question when Cross let her question trail off. How come his sister and not...what? He had a pretty good idea what she was thinking, what most people thought about him. Why not some cheap tramp? It was his own fault that he had the reputation that he did and he didn't really care that much. But if he ever did decide to do the domestication thing, it would be with a woman he actually respected and not the typical girl he took to his bed. But it didn't matter to Cameron whether anyone else knew that about him or not. And yeah, at least he had a good time. With Ash in the coat closet. But again, that was going no where now. Cam was being the bigger man and putting his sister first.

Cameron gave little thought to the fact that they were mixing and really he'd only had one beer. He didn't know how many Cross had and if she got falling down drunk like he planned to get, then they'd be each others unstable support on the way out at closing. Cameron could be half passed out and still make sure she got a cab safely home.

He laughed out loud and lifted the third shot. Yeah, why not drink too to their hotness? This would leave just two shots left and he was already trying to decide if he should have another beer or if they should get another round of shots.

It wasn't a bad thought, certainly not the ones she had about him. Though if she had gone and he had with some cheap tramp she'd probably have asked him what he was doing at the ball with a slut in front of the girl. That was Cross though, never really knowing when to bite her tongue about too many things. At least, not when she didn't want to anyway. His brow lift had been noted though, and her own arched as well. Matching stance with him really.

"Mmmm, now that....hit's the spot." She grinned pleasantly as she pushed the shot glasses a bit forward on the table. Licking at her lips a little she could still taste the alcohol on them, and it was a sweet taste she adored. Leaning forward as she placed her elbows on the table now she raised her hand over towards the waitress as she motioned for eight more shots to come their way. Looking back to Cam she batted her lashed at him sweetly, "Not going too fast for you, am I?" Teasing as she let a small laugh slip.

Well he wanted to get shitfaced and shitfaced was exactly what he was going to accomplish. Cam should have known that drinking with Cross could have no other outcome anyway. She was just as insane as he was or more. It was really a toss up but then there were a lot of crazies wandering around Chicago.

He watched her lick her lips, those goddamn kissable lips. Well they looked kissable anyway. He wasn't sure what they actually felt like or tasted like since he'd never partaken. She'd probably kick his damn ass if he tried. But then, that could be fun too. She motioned for more shots and he grinned, laughing even at her question. "Maybe. I guess if I end up on the floor, you'll know if you're too fast for me." Cameron paused, thinking. "I'm not even going to be embarrassed to admit that makes me think of Prince's Little Red Corvette. Baby, you're much too fast." He gave another laugh and tossed back another shot.

What did he expect to just have a drink or two and the rest would be just their friendly banter? He had to know better than that. A snicker pronounced from her lips as she shook her head at him, "If you end up on the floor that just means I'll have to drag you home with me." Which only after she said that she thought about how she had worded that. Shaking the thought that filled her head at that point she stretched out her legs beneath the table and reached for another shot as she tossed it back now.

Thankful for the comedic spurt from him as she let out a soft laugh as she flipped her hair over her shoulders before finally giving in and wrapping it up and into a ponytail. "The fact that you even had the balls to mention that without being embarrassed...I'm not sure what to say about that." The waitress coming over now with the shots that she had ordered. Flashing a large smile to the woman as she nodded her head in thanks and helped her stack up the now empty glasses before focusing back on Cam now. "So..what should we drink to next?"

Cameron couldn't say that he would protest Cross dragging him home with her. In fact, he was thinking maybe that was just what he needed to get a certain petite blonde, who he could not have, off his mind. Then again, Cross probably wasn't offering what it sounded like she was offering. Wishful thinking on his part, no doubt.

"Hey, there's nothing wrong with Prince. That Doves Cry song is awesome," he said with a smirk and chuckle, making it hard to tell if he was serious or not. He waited for Cross and the waitress to get the table in order and then he reached for another shot and paused. What should they drink to? "How about we drink to my awesome?" He quirked a brow as if to challenge her to argue that. "C'mon, I'm pretty badass. Say it, Cross. Say it!" he yelled in jest, a few heads swiveling in their direction. But Cam was only joking, he had no illusions about his own level of awesome. He just was who he was, take him or leave him.

"Let's drink to the Irish and their awesome. Of that we can agree on, no?" He lifted his shot and downed it.

"Mmm, right nothing wrong with Prince at all. No, of course not. Not if your the furthest thing from masculine anyway." She paused for a moment as she leaned forward on the table now. Her hand sweeping to grab one of the shots placed there. Shaking her head as she did her damned best not to laugh as he tried to get her to say that they could drink to his being awesome...or badass for that matter as well. Managing to ignore the turned heads as she continued to lean halfway across the table now, magically keeping good balance.

"I'll drink to your being incredibly bad ass - when you admit that your balls have shriveled up and your dick has fallen off - because you listen to Prince." Her tone had been low, and a bit more friendly than maybe what he was used to hearing even with what she said. "Unless..you swing that way too hmm.." She couldn't help but smile at that one though. Waiting a moment there as she brought the shot to her lips as she held her look at him and then finally leaned back and downed the shot.

Of course once the mention of drinking to Irish became involved, she was sure enough to scoop up the next one and throw that down the hatch too.

Cam tossed back another shot for the hell of it and then stared at Cross, his brows raised in incredulity. "My balls and my dick are just fine, woman!" he declared. "If you'd like to inspect them for yourself, that can be arranged. And I only bat for one team." Cam wasn't a homophobe by any means but he definitely was not into dudes. Just...no. No. "You should just admit that you watched Purple Rain a dozen times when you were 10." Although Cameron would swear on his life that guy was indeed gay. But that was Prince's business.

He was beginning to feel the warmth from the liquor creep into his limbs and that was always a sure sign that he was close to feeling just damn alright. He should probably consider handing his keys over to the bartender now and making sure a cab was called for the two of them at the end of the night. Otherwise he might be stupid and insist on driving. Cameron liked to think that age thirty he was smart enough not to but then he was not smart enough not to play with guns and shit so...

"Jesus, I'm bored," he said, lifting his dark eyes from the shots on the table, to Cross. "You know what I mean?" He lifted another shot to his lips and downed it just as she had.

She had to laugh at that, there was no way that she couldn't. "I'm sure they are just fine." Leaning over again she flicked at him however, "..call me woman again and they won't be fine." Batting her lashes at him as she smiled as well. Prince, though seemingly very gay, was a complete womanizer. That in itself told everyone that he was at least Bisexual if not gay. Lord knows he gets more women than most.

Cross had long been feeling comfortable in her skin, and she dare not say it but the buzz was heavy on her. She could still keep her balance and maintain a self security if needed though. Thats what mattered at the moment. Lifting that next shot to her lips as she dipped her head back and let the liquid slide down her throat.

Putting the glass down she slid it to the rest as she looked over at him now. "Bored hm?" Biting on the inside of her cheek a little bit now as she looked around the pub some. There were plenty of reasons to be bored, nothing was really going on as Conor wasn't making moves on the Italians yet. Drinking only sufficed so much, even with company.

"What do you want to do about it?" She waggled her brows at him now and snickered.

Cam asked a passing waitress for another pint and then turned back to focus on the sexy woman across from him. He couldn't help but laugh when she asked what he wanted to do about it, wagging her brows playfully. Cam could think of a few things; one of which he was currently doing. Drinking would work for a night, for tonight. Sex was helpful but no way in hell he would seriously pose that offer to Cross and risk her kicking him in the balls beneath the table. He liked his dick in tact. "I wanted to blow shit up but Fee is fucking killjoy. I'm thinking of just finding my own damn recipe for some fuck fireworks." He grinned and reached for one more shot, probably his last. He'd drink the beer the waitress was bringing and probably a few more after.

"I think I'm heading out of town Saturday. I have a friend who needs some...something," he said vaguely. "Anyway, I have no goddamn idea what to do to kill the boredom. Everything I think of gets blown out of the water so... If someone would just piss me off, I could shoot them and that would be fun." He was joking. For now. Until someone really did piss him off.

Cross' sense of fun could often be considered sick and twisted. Though there was any guess as to what exactly she had meant with her brow waggle there. Sitting back as she slowed her drinking down a little more now. The buzz was getting a bit more than heavy on her and she wanted to be able to hold a little pride when she walked out of here tonight. "Blow stuff up. That's your solution to boredom?" She was slightly amused by this, though wondered what the hell he was going to come up with as well. You could find a recipe to blow up the entire world on the internet if you looked hard enough.

She gave him a look now, catching that slight slip of tongue. A brow raising as she tightened her jaw slightly, yes she was giving him a stern look which was horrible considering her limbs and face felt tingly from the buzz. "A friend who needs some...?"

He'd like to use sex has his solution to boredom but that wasn't really happening for him at the moment. Blowing shit up seemed like a good alternative and besides, he wasn't talking buildings or anything. Or even Italians. He just wanted to go out in the middle of BFE and let off some explosives. What was the big fucking deal? Fee was just a spoil sport. The girl forgot how to have a good time. "I'm thinking arts and crafts style explosives," he said with grin.

Cam took a drink from his pint, washing the taste of the whiskey down, and shrugged his shoulders. "A friend who needs some backup. No big deal." A friend in Detroit. It was going to be a quick ass trip, not a lot of time for fun but oh well.

"What's your solution to boredom?" he asked.

She pressed her lips together as she looked across the table at him a bit more seriously now. He was talking about playing with explosives after all, a certain level of seriousness had to be involved. She was done with the shots, that she knew, and she had nearly finished the pint in front of her and thought that it might be a good time to nurse the last of it before she threw in her towel. She had two hours of prior drinking before he even showed up.

"No big deal," she raised her brow at him and one could swear that might have been a bit of concern behind those eyes. Better not to question it though. "My solution to boredom," smiling lightly as she had to think about this one. "Besides a thought that involves a good bit of sparring done...in various positions --there are plenty of things to take one away from boredom." She paused for a moment as she looked at him and then had to look away so not to show the apples of her cheeks had grown a rosey color. Clearing her throat and continuing now, "Drinking. Fighting. Gun Range...possibilities are always endless if you know what to do with what you've got in front of you." She had to stop herself from all the double meanings, but they were too fun.

Hold the bus! Was Cross talking sparring or was she talking sex? Or did they go hand in hand? Cameron imagined that could be a shit ton of fun if they did. Was she blushing? Was Cross fucking blushing? He was pretty certain he'd never seen the woman ever remotely close to blush about anything. It softened the smile that tugged at the corners of his mouth. Was that...? Was there...? Shit.

In most cases, more often then not, Cam was an idiot. He'd never claim to be a genius but he'd always gotten by. He figured it was luck. But when a woman sitting across from him was possibly hinting at a roll in the hay, he was so stupid that he'd fail to pick up on it. Flirting was kind of his forte, after all. It was like an art. Or a sport. Something. "You want in my pants, don't you, Cross?" he asked, his smile turning teasing once again despite the fact that it was an entirely serious question. "You wanna get naked with me."

That brow raised curiously as she looked at him now, letting that rose color drain from her cheeks as much as possible. She was never the type to excessively flirt, not unless she was doing it for a job, otherwise she could be considered a little on the 'cold-hearted bitch' side by many that know her. That know Cross anyway.

Pressing her lips together for a moment as she thought about how to answer his question, though lips quickly curled into a devilish smile as well. "I'm wondering if you know what to do with , and can handle what's in front of you." She was pretty damn sure that he knew how it went, but it was just much more entertaining to tease at him about it now.
