Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
WHO: Adrian Higgs and Dallas Whitby
WHAT: DATE!
WHEN: Saturday
WHERE: Restaurant then Ice skating then possibly ice cream
WHY: INTERACTION!
RATING: TBD
STATUS: In progress and Closed to all but those two

Dallas arrived at the restaurant Adrian and her had agreed upon earlier that week early. She had been suprising even herself lately, wearing a dress to the ball, arriving early instead of ten minutes late to everything. It was a good change. Butterflies swarmed in her stomach. She was really excited about this date, which again was not like her. She was definitely interested in Adrian. It was amazing how much they had in common. The waiter sat her at a table for two and she sipped a glass of water, waiting. She looked back at the door, wandering if she should leave and walk around the bloke a few times until he arrived first, but she decided to stay put. Dally traced her finger around the rim of the glass, making a high pitch ringing sound. She was easily entertained.

Adrian was a little nervous about meeting Dallas. He had told her about meeting at the restaurant and was still early. He was wearing a nicely pressed black shirt and white suit ensemble, not sure if it looked okay. Nevertheless, he had to leave eventually.

Picking up a small, half-dozen boquet of lilies, he Apparated to the restaurant. Grabbing the attention of a waiter, he described Dallas, short of using adjectives like beautiful and charming because it wouldn't help much. But it was weird that he thought that about her. He barely knew her, but knew that she was an amazing person as far as it went.

Being directed to a table, he heard a small ringing noise, assimilating it with someone's fingers around a glass. He didn't think much of it and saw that it was Dallas who had originated the sound he heard. He held back a blush as he saw her. She looked prettier than he had expected and immediately offered her the lilies. "I'm sorry, in relative time I'm late," he said with a grin as he sat down.

It seems like his tongue had swollen and he ran out of what to say to her. She was definitely someone Adrian could see himself. He quickly shook that thought from his head, knowing that he shouldn't had been thinking like that. It might not even get past this first date and he was already planning. He was finding himself to be a little ridiculous. Smiling, he asked, "Have you ever been here before? The food's amazing."

She hadn't been sitting there long at all, before the waiter came back around. This time Adrian was by his side. It felt as though her heart leaped into her throat at the first site of him. She felt her cheeks grow hot. Dallas smiled, exstatic to be in his presence.

She wore black pants and a very flattering blue blouse. Her first choice was a little black skirt, but as soon as the thought of ice skating popped into her head, she changed her mind.

Dallas bit her lip as her hazel eyes drifted towards the lilies. She took them and put her nose to the flowers. "Oh these are beautiful, Adrian. Thank you so much!" She stated, feeling the butterflies swarm faster in her stomach. "Oh you are not late, I was just early," she brushed off his comment.

It was amazing how comfortable and yet how nervous she felt all at the same time. Conversations were easy to strike up with him. She didn't have to think about topics to bring up or how to say somehting before she said it. It all came so natural. "You know, I've never been here before," she stated clasping her hands together and leaning her chin against them, elbows on the table. She gazed into his eyes. Her stomach growled loudly and she covered it up quickly. Her cheeks turned red. "I'm starving," she stated, thinking back that the last thing she ate was a banana for breakfast.

He flashed her a charming smile. "Of course, I can't be late," he said jokingly, "Just in relative time. But it's okay, it's fine." He shrugged at the flowers. "I'm glad you like them," he said with a smile. He was glad that she liked them, really. It was a good way to start off the night.

He couldn't help but watching her as she looked at him, smiling back. Everything that he could have thought to say sounds totally ridiculous, but it wasn't. It was just him trying to impress her that was the problem. "It's great here, really," he said with a grin. He observed her stomach growling and laughed a little.

"I guess it's time to call the waiter," he said to her comment. And she was cute when she blushed, he couldn't help but notice. Flagging down a waiter, he handed them two menus and he looked his over for a moment. "The usual, with a bottle of red wine." He had been there so many times that they knew he ordered the same thing, shrimp fettucine alfredo. They always had the best pasta dishes. He looked over at Dallas, waiting for her to make her choice and admiring her all the same.

Dally watched him flag down the waiter. She loved how he didn't even have to look at the menu to order. Biting her lower lip, her hazel eyes scanned the menu. "I'll have the same thing," she stated closing the menu slowly and handing it back to the waiter. She would trust his food choice. Dallas smoothed her hands over her pants. She looked up at him with an award winning grin. "I'm curious to know," she said with a smile, "What's the usual?"

They hadn't known each other long, but Adrian had already become one of her favorite people to be around. "So tell me," she stated wanting to know more about him. "What's it like after the Hogwart years?" She asked assuming the same position with her elbow to the table and leaning her chin on her hand. "I can't imagine it... no classes or homework." She shook her head slowly, "Man, wouldn't that would be nice," she said, talking to herself. Her dark eyes soaked in his very handsome features. Many htoughts ran through her mind, one being that she could totally see herself dating him...boyfriend/girlfriend...going steady...whatever it was called...they would make a good pair. Of course it was only the first date and it was way too early to be pondering on such. They still had to go ice skating and there's no telling how much of an idiot she will look like falling all over the place. But she bubbled with excitement.
