It had only given him a mild surprise to get the owl from Tara. It wasn't that he thought his absence had gone unnoticed, more like he thought it would have gone unsaid. Nevertheless, Phoenix toed his trainers back on and found his leather jacket, pulling it on with a little smirk. A little stroll about wouldn't kill him and it certainly wouldn't kill him to be accompanied by someone as lovely as Tara Nott. Checking the watch at his wrist absently, Phoenix took from his dorm and down the hall to the common room.

It didn't look like she was here yet, then again looks could be decieving. blue eyes flitting about for a moment, Phoenix leaned back against the wall behind him, arms folded over his chest while he waited for her to appear.

Tara wasn't the type to just let things slide, really when she was a little bit more curious about it than anything else. Phoenix vanishing was one of those things she wouldn't let slide. He was too interesting to just vanish.

Tara was pleased he finally 'asked her' for a stroll. Not that he had really asked her, she sort of pushed him to it. Tara wanted to go on a stroll, and she surely didn't want to go along. Besides it would be nice to actually see Phoenix. Perhaps he'd tell her why he'd vanished for so long.

She grabbed her black wool jacket and her Slytherin scarf before making her way to the common room. It didn't take long to see Phoenix he sort of always stood out. She smirked softly before heading towards him. "Ready?" She wasn't about to ask him what was on her mind in the common room.

Phoenix would have been more than willing to take her for a walk, of course, he just liked to play around with things, as everyone knew. He would have asked more sincerely, with a bit of time. Oh well, they were going now and there was time for plenty of sincerity later.

"Where to, love?" He asked with a quirk of the brow, offering his arm to her as he headed for the entrance of the common room.

Tara smirked slightly taking his arm. She wasn't surprised he offered it, at least someone had the right amount of manors in this school. It was wonderful after all that some men where still of nobel birth, it was a shame Phoenix's older brother wasn't more like him. She wouldn't say that out loud, at least not at the moment.

"Perhaps outdoors, chilly, but refreshing." She said with a small shrug while her eyes looked up a little to go along with it. Once they were out of the common room and little bit down the hall she figured she could speak a little bit more. "So where is it you've been hiding?" Tara might admit to actually missing seeing him as much, but at the moment she would just try and get an answer.
