As they left the townhouse, Rupert put a glamour on himself and Fred so that they wouldn't be noticed. He didn't want anyone to have noticed them once the house went up in flames.
Back at the penthouse, he changed out of the clothes he had been wearing, into something lighter-colored. He also grabbed his suede jacket from the closet and slipped it on. Once Fred was ready, they headed out and down toward Rodeo Drive. He was turning a corner when she started talking about getting a television and a DVD.
"Well, I never really did have much time for television," he admitted. "When I wasn't at the brothel, I was usually researching. And when I wasn't researching, I was sleeping. So yes...the television is rather old. If you'd like, after the jewelry shop, we could look around. See what's available."
Reaching Rodeo, he found the shop he was looking for and pulled into the parking area around the back. They went into the shop where a young woman immediately asked if she could help.
"Yes, we're looking for a engagement ring for my lovely fiancee here," Rupert said, smiling at Fred.
"Oh! We have a wonderful selection!" The woman then showed them to the counter with the diamond rings. Rupert looked at them, then over at Fred.
"See anything you like, love? Or did you want something different from a diamond?"
