Fred smiled at Rupert as he told her she was part of him now. It was the most wonderful thing anyone had ever said to her. And, it made her feel a lot better about what had happened earlier. She was still pissed off at Ethan and still planned on making him pay with his life. Smiling, she kissed his again.
Snuggling against him, Fred laid her head against the crook of Rupert's shoulder. As he spoke, she nodded, thinking it was a good idea. She looked at him again and smiled. "I like that idea," she said before furrowing her brow in thought. "I think it'll be best if my parents didn't come. It's just... I don't want them to be a part of this life. I know they would support any decision I make but they're a farmer and bus driver from rural Texas and I don't want them to know about things like this. I rather they just not know at all."
Fred kissed the side of his neck and sighed. "And please don't think I'm embarrassed by you or this because I'm not," she said.
Suddenly, Fred could hear the bell on Brahms collar making noise and knew the cat thought it was time for all of them to be in bed. She slipped off Rupert and picked up her robe, and put it on. She went to the door and opened it, and Brahms can trotting in. He jumped up on the bed and curled up next to Rupert.
"I'm going to clean up," Fred said with a soft laugh. She turned and went to the bathroom.
