If this is not an appropriate post for this community, please feel free to delete it. I've been a member here for a little while and while reading have found that at times what I've really wanted is a place that supports those who have left the very type of christianity that this group keeps an eye on and tries to expose. I do believe it needs to be exposed, and I hope that people take seriously the threat that this particular religious mindset poses not only to the US right now, but the entire world.

at the same time, I find reading about the things they do more depressing than anything, because I grew up with it and it seems to me like we are beating our heads against a brick wall. so I looked for an ex-fundamentalist community on lj, and there wasn't one, really. if you don't mind, I'd like to announce it here. I'm not crossposting this, in case anyone cares about such things, but I might announce the community in a couple of other reactions-to-religion type groups that I belong to.

but so the community is x_fundies. it's so new I haven't even put a welcome post there yet. I guess I'll do that before I go to bed.
