Man On A Mission: Tom DeLay Says God Has Sent Him On A Crusade To Save The GOP

It’s good to know that TV preacher Pat Robertson isn’t the only one who gets messages from God these days. The Almighty has also been talking to Tom DeLay, the former majority leader of the House of Representatives.
God is apparently worried about the rough patch the Republican Party is going through, and he’s tapped DeLay to fix it up.
DeLay explains it all in the latest issue of The New Yorker.
“God has spoken to me,” DeLay told the magazine. “I listen to God, and what I’ve heard is that I’m supposed to devote myself to rebuilding the conservative base of the Republican Party, and I think we shouldn’t be underestimated.”
DeLay said the GOP’s minority status is not such a bad thing.
“I see this as a cleansing process, where you can return to your principles, which are order, justice, and freedom – the basic principles of the conservative movement,” he said. “We have to redefine government based on conservative principles, we have to win the war against our culture, and we have to win the war on terror.”
Personal Comments: Why is it the biggest hypocritical nutjobs are always hearing from "GOD". I'm trully amazed that DeLay wants to restore the GOP to its former glory. This guy broke most of the 10 Commandments and has the nerve to say that he wants to do "GOD"'s work now. I think he need some special medicine like they give to Oral Roberts to keep him and others like him from hearing "GOD".
I have no problem that people talk to "GOD" I think though when they hear him and have dellusions of power, then someone who is alot more in touch with reality needs to step up and use a "Clue by Four" to help them see the light. DeLay should be doing a few years in a prison uniform and getting some male on male bonding in prison to make him a bit more humble, and not trying to fix something he himself fucked away to begin with.
As for being pragmatic person Tom DeLay wouldn't know pragmatic if it hit him in the head with a "Clue by Four". and was wearing neon yellow sign explaining it to the someone who is that dense.
Oh and the other reason this is Dominionist/fundie related is in the article and mentions Reverend Ken Wilde; another evagalical leader who has ties to Fundies and the National Prayer Group that is part of Pat Robertson shtick.....
