Republican "questionnaire" received

I admit I don't normally start topics in this community, but I read it every day, and I always enjoy what all of you have to say. Occasionally I comment, but mostly I just enjoy reading. But this is really bugging me...

Above all else, I am a defender of the Constitution and of the civil liberties that Americans are seeing disappear every day.

Yesterday in the mail I received something called "Ask America -- 2006 Nationwide Policy Survey". It said that I was "chosen", in addition to 1000 other people in my town, to participate. It's clearly a propaganda piece from the RNC. The funny thing is, although I have voted in every major election, I have never voted in a primary, which means I have never "declared" a party, yet this questionnaire not only asked me 58 questions of what I thought about Bush and his policies (with a heavy slant in favor of him and them), but they also asked for me for MONEY to "help stop the liberal Democrats' obstructionism and keep Republicans in Congress this election day".

Like, WTF?

Whatever made them think I was a neocon, I'd like to know? Or are they just "phishing" here in a desperate attempt to hoodwink people to their side? A couple of the questions were clearly religious in nature, such as "do I favor a constitutional amendment banning gay marriage". The answer of course was NO, circled 800 times, and a comment that the government should keep their stinking noses OUT of people's personal lives.

I finished the questionnaire and gave them quite an earful. I bet when they receive it, they'll instruct the CIA to start a file on me as an "enemy combatant", aka "dissenter". If they don't have a file on me already, that is. Bastards.

I'm curious--did anyone else receive this questionnaire?

I was watching an abortion argument on a forum, and someone made a very interesting claim.

The pro-life crowd usually yell about abortion = murdering babies, et al. But the real source of their argument isn't the concern over the fetuses themselves.

While Catholics believe (IIRC) that a child must be baptised for it to get to heaven, Protestants are of the belief that a "grace period" or lee-way is permitted to those who die who had no chance to be accepted by Christ. Thus, the soul of an aborted fetus goes to heaven.

What's got the Pro-Life's panties in a bunch is that, if a woman who gets an abortion does not repent, she will go to hell for murder.

Another RightWingNut with frontal lobe damage

Yes, kiddies, this person believes The Onion to be a Bastion of Truth... and fails to understand the Nature of Satire

from her blog comes this:

Here are some quotes from a pro-abortion person, Miss Caroline Weber, who wrote an article at The Onion online magazine.

The Onion Article

When referring to the killing of her child she said:

"I am totally psyched for this abortion!"

"Those pro-life activists made it pretty clear that, unlike me, they actually think abortion is bad and to be avoided. Are they nuts? Abortion is the best!"

"It wasn't until now that I was lucky enough to be pregnant with a child I had no means to support."

"I just know it's going to be the best non-anesthetized invasive uterine surgery ever!"

Miss Weber, you have killed your child, which you admit is a baby/human being, intentionally. That does make you an admitted murderer. I'm not going to "condemn you to hell", I'm going to pray for your forgiveness and for the suffering which you will endure when you realize what you have done.

Apparently, she, unlike the jackass who thought The Onion was indeed the Paper of Record, and posted their post-9/11 stories as the real thing, cannot be forgiven for not understanding American Humor. Shjust doesn't get it
