"You always struck me as a sort of free spirit," Alphonse commented. "One that would never cease to run wild, much less settle down. Though, marriage doesn't mean there's no room for traversing the globe together, I suppose." He could envision it already, the newlywed couple hovering above the world in a hot air balloon or something of that sort. One might think that he'd have a sense of envy to balance his enthusiasm for his colleague, but Alphonse held nothing but joy. It truly was heartwarming to see Austin with someone he loved.

He held the door for Austin and insisted that he head on in first. The place they had agreed upon was a small establishment, nothing glitzy or overwhelming in its presentation. In a way, it was actually rather homey. The lights were dim and the chatter stood between quiet murmurs and raucous laughter. All they needed was a drink or two.

Austin waited for Cas' arrival. He had saw the boy's post about home and that tugged a string in his heart. He understood what it was like to miss the places you called home. He knew that feeling all too well. In his lifetime, Austin had called a lot of places home, and he understood what it meant to leave it. Which is why he had always kept a part of it with him. He collected sand in Georgia, chipped a bit of rock from the Grand Canyon, he had stolen water from the lakes and each one of these souvenirs had a story to tell. He kept most of his things at home, although a few had found their way into his classroom. San Francisco was one of them.
