There was a timing to comfort. It wasn't something that could be rushed. Nor could you be too slow... though comfort was forgiving if you erred on the side of slowness. Sebastian didn't say anything for a bit, just letting Raf cuddle up against him as he sipped at his Courvoisier and occasionally let some chocolate melt in his mouth.
When he judged enough time had passed, Sebastian spoke up again. "People get angry," he said thoughtfully. "The whole world over. But one thing I've found is that if people start on a foundation of liking you, their angry doesn't tend to last long. I don't think you're as fucked over as you're thinking you are. Don't give up hope until tomorrow at least. Let everyone sleep on it, yourself included."
