Previous Entry  Add to memories!  Tell a Friend!  Next Entry
Who: Vince and Gavin
What: Vince visits Gavin in the hospital ;_;
Where: Gavin's hospital room
When: Monday, May 16th immediately after returning from Nationals
Rating: SFW, though mentions of Gavin's parental abuse

For Vince, the win at Nationals, as exciting as the whole experience had been, was entirely bittersweet. From the second he and Benji had gotten off the phone with Gavin on Saturday, all he'd done was worry and panic. Hell, he was shocked he was able to focus long enough to perform. One of the boys he loved - yes, he definitely loved Gavin now - was hurt, and where was he? In New York, singing and dancing. I shouldn't've even auditioned, he never would've got hurt if I was there to keep him safe. The ride home was torturous. All he wanted was to see Gavin. As they got home, Vince told Benji he wanted to go see Gavin alone and the other boy reluctantly agreed. He practically ran to his car, still in full Dalton uniform - he'd forgotten to bring any other clothes to New York. The drive to the hospital was just as bad as the past weekend, but at least he knew he would be able to see Gavin soon, and that was what was important.

After a string of minor traffic violations that went entirely unnoticed by the Westerville police force, Vince pulled into the hospital parking lot and opened his glove compartment, pulling one of two identical silver boxes out, and left the car, jogging towards the hospital. He was panting as he opened the doors and stopped at the lobby, looking helplessly at the attendant who asked him what the problem was. "I'm looking for Gavin." She opened her mouth and he blushed. "Sinclair. G-Gavin Sinclair." The attendant nodded and after a few painful seconds gave him the room number, which he sped to. Taking a deep breath, Vince knocked the door twice before opening it slowly. "G-Gavin? Uh, it's Vince."

Gavin was anxiously awaiting someone’s arrival, though if you had asked him twice who he was expecting he would’ve given you two different names. All he knew was that any minute now there should be someone showing up for him… They’d promised. His mother had left to go back to their house to sleep (she’d been in the hospital with him since she’d returned from her business trip, so Gavin did not blame her for leaving for a bit of time to rest) so whoever it was who did show up, there would be no need to hide their true feelings, which Gavin was grateful for. After all, he’d been (almost literally) dying for either Benji or Vince to show up. He was just so scared…

Eventually, the knock he was expecting came just as the pain meds he was on started to take effect. “H-Hi.” Gavin stuttered, trying to look as energetic as possible, knowing that his general condition didn’t lend itself to looking well. His eye was still puffy and bruised, and the long stitches on his head extended down to around his eyebrow. And surely, the brace up on his nose wasn’t any help; his face still looked broken. He made an attempt to smile, but it was doubtful that it worked. “I-I’m h-happy to s-see you.” Gavin’s stutter only got worse when his tears of fright started to press at his eyes. God, crying made his head split, even with the beginning effects of his pain medication.

Vince burst out into tears the second he saw Gavin's state. "G-Gavin! Oh, G-God, Gavin-" Forgetting the small silver box in his hand, he rushed over to his boyfriend's side, wrapping his arms around him for a split second before recoiling instantly, realizing how much he had the potential to hurt him. "H-he did thi-your dad!?" Vince fell backwards into a chair, nearly missing it entirely, and adjusted himself before he slipped off. He was trembling, tears falling rapidly from his eyes. "I-I'll fucking k-kill him." Escalating into a sob, the blond buried his face in his hands, his head sliding down against them until hands clutched hair and eyes distorted by a thick layer of tears stared at the floor. Bringing his head back up, he looked Gavin in the eyes, grabbing his hand and holding it tight as he brought it to his mouth and kissed the fingers. "I'm s-so s-sorry." He bit his lip hard, tears still falling down and off his face.

Gavin flinched as soon as Vince came towards him, an involuntary response that flooded Gavin with a wave of panic that only went away when he felt the pain caused by Vince's well-intentioned and brief hug. Gavin could barely keep his eyes following Vince as he sat down, cried, moved forward. After a couple of days laying in a bed, this was the most action happening around him in a while. "Vince, d-don't." Gavin quietly replied to Vince's threat. Fighting fire with fire is just a bad rule. Somehow, Gavin managed not to pull his hand away when another flush of panic threatened the contact between him and Vince. "S'not your fault."
