Who: Fletcher and OPEN (Someone needs to save him!)
What: Another suicide attempt at Dalton.
Where: The indoor pool
When: Around 9:50 PM, Monday April 18th, right after his most recent journal entry
Fletcher was on a mission when he posted that journal entry just a few moments earlier. Sure, it could have been seen as a cry for help, but to him, it was one last rant to end them all. Finding out about Jakoby abandoning him as his roommate was the last straw. That, combined with everything else that was going on in his life, was just too much for him to deal with. He was finally at his breaking point. Before he had left his room, he downed a good amount of Nyquil. Fletcher couldn't trust himself to stay completely under if he wasn't at least little out of it. He opened the door to the pool, silently thanking God that the room was completely empty. He glanced around, taking a deep breath and letting the chlorine fill his nose.
Being constantly around the pool, it was one of his favorite smells. It relaxed him, and that is exactly what he needed to be at the moment. Wearing only his sweatpants and a t-shirt, he walked to the edge, staring into the clear, blue water. He'd be lying if he didn't admit that he was terrified. He was shaking from his head to his toes, but in his mind, there was no turning back. Fletcher was never going to be fucked over by Jakoby or anyone else again. Slowly sitting down on the edge of the pool, he dipped his legs in, soaking his sweatpants. Fletcher could feel the nyquil he had sucked down earlier starting to take effect on his body. His mind became fuzzy and he knew he was getting tired. He closed his eyes, and took one final breath, then slid off the edge, submerging his entire body under water. As he started to feel his body float back up, he weakly grasped onto the edge, pushing and keeping himself down.
Being on the swim team, he was rather good at holding his breath, but even after about a minute, he could feel his lungs starting to burn. "Just stay under," he thought to himself. "It'll all be over soon."
