Entry tags:! thread, # pairing: benji/gavin, # pairing: benji/gavin/vince, # pairing: benji/vince, # pairing: gavin/vince, @ character: benjamin dubois, @ character: gavin sinclair, @ character: vincent mcleary, status: complete

Who: Benji, Vince and Gavin
What: They talk. AND WHAT IS DECIDED?
Where: Gavin's room
When: Tuesday, April 12th. Evening
Rating: Should be SFW

And so it was finally time. Gavin had told both Benji and Vince to show up at his room as soon as they were both ready to come and talk. Out of all possible roommate intrusions, Raf seemed like the one who would cause the least problems, so the other two agreed.

There was nothing left but to wait. By the end of the night, some sort of conclusion would be made and this mess would be put away as just another memory... Although whether that memory would be remembered as good or bad had yet to be determined.

Vince's heart was beating out of his chest. Somehow - somehow - he'd managed to keep control of himself around Gavin earlier, and with equal difficulty he'd stopped himself from trying to drag Benji's decision out of him and just enjoy his birthday. As he held Benji's hand while they walked to the room directly below his own, he wished the contact would enable him to read the boy's mind or... something to make it easier to wait.

Regardless of the end result, he knew two things: he was sticking by Benji no matter what, and it would be impossible to be 'just friends' with Gavin - he'd already let himself get in too deep with the boy. As they reached Gavin's door, Vince turned to Benji and kissed him quickly. "N-no matter what, Benji, I - I just, um..." The blonde took a deep breath and looked his boyfriend in the eye. "It's you. I love you It's always you, whether it... whether it g-gets to be him too or not." His voice faltered at the end, but he meant every word.

Benji was nervous, to say the least. He knew this wasn't the sort of decision he should have rushed, and he was well aware that he'd promised Ron he wouldn't agree to anything that he wasn't completely positive about. He also knew that he should've talked a bit more with Vince, one-on-one, but it was a little late for that now, as they'd reached Gavin's room. Returning the kiss, Benji bit his lip nervously as they pulled apart; he stayed quiet as Vince stammered through his preface, his heart fluttering a little at the promise being made to him. He knew that, with Vince, a statement like that wasn't just empty words and it helped to settle his nerves a little bit. He caught his boyfriend's lips in another quick kiss before pulling back, a soft smile on his lips. I love you, too. Why was that so hard to say? He was nearly certain that it was true - it had come up time and time again over the past two days as he thought this whole thing through.

Knowing this was their last moment without Gavin, he hesitated, one final question weighing on his mind, but he shook it off. It could wait. Right? "It's you for me, too," he promised. It may not have been as big of a promise coming from him, but he had a feeling that Vince still felt a little unsure about the Del situation. Throwing Gavin into the mix, too... well. He wanted his boyfriend to know just where he stood. "We should, um. We should go in," he added, his voice betraying his nerves. With a slight nod of agreement from Vince, he turned, knocking on the door - just to alert Gavin - and then opened it a moment later, stepping inside with a quiet, "Hi."

Gavin jumped off of the bed when he heard the knock, even though he had been expecting them to show up, his nerves were still all over the place. The door opened, but Gavin was too busy scurrying back and forth, trying to make places for Vince and Benji to sit. "Uh... H-Hi." Gavin stuttered, deciding that even though things weren't set up exactly how he'd wanted them to be he would just have to deal. Nervously, he threw himself back onto his bed and motioned for the two to... erm... sit, or something.

"I-I just want to.. um..." Gavin began, but the words caught in his throat. "I-I want to reiterate how I w-will respect whatever decision you've made a-and anything you've discussed, even i-if that means..." His vision shot to Vince and he sighed. "I-If that means not talking to you..." It then shot to Benji. "Either of you." Although I am convinced that would hurt me deeply... "B-But as we know... I-er... I like both of you as more than a friend, a-and Vince..." another pause. "Er... Yeah..." He finished by staring down at his hands.

Vince was blushing the second he saw Gavin. The last two times he'd been around him, the circumstances had been... awkward, to say the least, for a plethora of reasons. This was about ten times as awkward as either situation was, however. It didn't help that Gavin was clearly nervous beyond words. A pang of hurt run through the blonde as Gavin mentioned not talking to them. He wasn't sure what would hurt more - being around Gavin without being able to have him, or not being around him period.

Vince took a deep breath, thrown off by the added mention of his name. "I - well, uh. You... you b-both know how I feel about, ah, how I feel towards both of of you." He blushed deeper and looked at Benji carefully.

Benji really, really didn't want it to ever come down to Gavin not talking to either of them anymore and he couldn't quite refrain from pouting as the other sophomore suggested it. He hesitated for a moment before crossing the room to stand in front of Gavin; he pulled him into a hug a moment later. It just hurt to see him so hurt and unsure. Pulling back, he smiled a little sheepishly before taking a seat on Raf's bed. "I know," he confirmed, giving a slight nod about Vince's additiona comments. "I wish... I wish that I could say I, um. That I feel the same," he started, biting his lip as he paused, looking from Vince to Gavin, "But for all the thinking I've done, I can't... can't figure out how I feel about you, Gavin." A blush dusted across his cheeks as he looked down, "I think it could be labeled as a crush." He fidgetted a little with the comforter, not looking at either of them as he admitted, "I'm scared of what starting so unevenly matched would do."

Gavin accepted the hug, which did manage to do a little to calm him down, but he was still nervous as to what Benji was going to say. Even once Benji did say something, Gavin didn't calm down much. What exactly was Benji saying? Was that... Was that a yes? "W-wait, what?" Gavin stuttered, his mind trying to catch up with Benji's words. Benji said he might have a crush on him, and wasn't that the final piece of the puzzle? "D-Does this mean...?"

Vince's mind echoed Gavin's words. What? He... what!? He looked from Benji to Gavin and back, baffled, before sitting next to Benji. "So you - well, um. I, uh, r-remember that there - o-one of those s-site that I - it said that, uh, y'know, you shouldn't - in, um, triads and stuff, you can't always... not everyone is going to f-feel the same about everyone else r-right away." I love Benji. I don't love Gavin - yet... "It t-takes time. We can, I don't know, um, uh, like, go on dates and stuff, l-like, all three of us or just two at a time or both or I don't even know I'll stop now." Vince panted, sightly out of breath. He looked to Gavin with a tinge of a smile on his face as he slipped his hand into Benji's, squeezing it reassuringly.

"It means... I'm not saying yes or no just yet," he said, glancing at Gavin. Nodding along, Benji listened to what the Vince was saying, and attempted a weak smile when the older boy took his hand. "It's... That..." he sighed, a little bit frustrated. "I know that the relationships would never be the same," he started, "And that's... that's normal, it makes sense. I'm just... I'm-" scared. Afraid. "-worried." Had he ever come out to Gavin? He remembered discussing aromanticism, but he couldn't recall if the conversation had gone beyond that. He didn't think so. "I-I know that... it's, it's normal for the... the feelings to be different, but..." Benji gave his boyfriend a helpless look - surely he had to have some idea what Benji was struggling with? Taking a deep breath, he closed his eyes for a moment before looking at Gavin, "I'm... I'm d-demisexual, and it complicates... things."

"As in sex?" Gavin asked bluntly. He looked up, as if searching his brain for a memory he couldn't quite access on demand. "Demisexuality: a person who does not experience sexual attraction until they form a strong emotional connection with someone, often--but not always--in a romantic relationship. The term demisexual comes from the orientation being 'halfway between' sexual and asexual." Gavin looked back down at Benji and gave him a small smile. "I-I studied up, remember? And it is not like I would have anything to miss, since I have never had sex anyways." He gave a small shrug. If Benji needed time to adjust to things, he could have it. Hell, Gavin was still getting his mind around the idea that he was going from being single to a point in a three person relationship.

Vince listened and watched Benji carefully. He wasn't really surprised that Benji's sexuality came up, but he hadn't exactly thought of that. It was never an issue with just the two of them, but Vince didn't know if Gavin was sexually active whatsoever. A smirk twitched over his face, though, as Gavin seemed entirely unfazed - he was obviously as adamant about this somehow happening as Vince was, which made it all the easier to chime in. "And it's n-not like the lack of, uh, that stuff has, um, has given us any problems."

Benji blinked a little, at first surprised, and then just a little amused, at the fact that Gavin was giving him a definition of his own sexual orientation that was nearly verbatim off of the AVEN website. His lips quirked into a faint smile and he reached up, running a hand through his hair. "Impressive," he responded, a slight grin still in place. He nodded at Vince's input, smiling slightly as he considered how true that was; he and Vince managed quite well. "I know," he conceded, "And you know how much I've appreciated your patience."

He was silent for a moment, then, before speaking up again, "There is... more to it than that, though. Especially when bringing in a third party." It was true; a 'textbook' definition couldn't even begin to cover all the ins and outs of it. What may have looked simple on paper wasn't so easy in practice. "It's... very, very likely that those attractions won't develop at the same rate, although it is possible for me to, eventually, feel that way about more than one person at a time. It's also... it isn't simultaneous with f-falling in love. It just means that... that once that connection has been, uh, established, that's when there really is a chance that I'll feel that attraction." He took another breath before continuing, "And there's a difference between attraction and arousal, and I'm scared that all of that could build up to... uncomfortable situations where people wind up hurt whenever the three of us would be.. um. Together." There was no hiding the deep blush spreading over Benji's cheeks as he spoke, and he had to physically restrain himself from turning to hide against Vince's shoulder. "AndI'mafraidthatyou'llbothforgetaboutmeifyou'rereadytobetogetherbeforeIfeelthatway." He spoke quickly, quite obviously embarrassed and uncomfortable - but also afraid and insecure.

Okay so that was a lot more information than Gavin was prepared to get. Doing his best to follow Benji's line of thought, Gavin still felt like what he'd said had, for the most part, covered the basic principle. Difference between attraction and arousal, not simultaneous with falling in love, yadda yadda yadda, Gavin knew that much. "I understand the idea, and I am not going to ever try to force you into something you're not comfortable doing, nor would I feel offended if you're uncomfortable." Gavin said just as simply. Treating it like it wasn't a big deal felt like the best approach... Until Benji dropped the bomb. Momentarily stunned by the confession, Gavin stared at Benji blankly, then rose from the bed and crossed to where Vince and Benji stood. Hopefully what he was about to do would not be taken negatively. Carefully, tenderly, Gavin pressed his lips to Benji, kissing his crush for the first time since the day Gavin realized he had a crush in the first place. "I think I speak for both Vince and myself when I say that you will not be forgotten."

Vince blushed in response to the mention of all three of them like that and fuck if he didn't have dirty images running through his mind, but all of that was driven out as soon as Vince comprehended what Benji said next. The first thing he felt was confusion - then a lot of hurt. He watched Gavin kiss Benji and nodded emphatically at his words. "No." He spoke with complete certainty. "Of course not." It was obvious how hurt he was in his voice; he placed a kiss of his own on Benji's lips. "I - I c-could never. I love you. You know that."

Gavin's easy acceptance definitely relieved him a little, on one level, but he was still concerned. But maybe that was something they'd all have to confront when the time came. The kiss was something that he wasn't expecting, and he blinked, quite clearly perplexed, as Gavin moved to stand in front of him. Eyes widening, it took a moment for Benji to return the kiss, his eyes misting over a little when the other sophomore pulled back and spoke again.

The hurt in Vince's voice made his heart sink a little; he wasn't trying to be hurtful. This wasn't about doubting either of the other boys, not really, it was just... It was a fear he had, a feeling of inadequacy, and this situation magnified it tenfold. Because, really, once the others were ready to be more intimate... Well. He was just worried that he would seem to have less to offer. Returning his boyfriend's kiss as well, Benji closed his eyes against the show of emotion that was threatening to spill over. "I love you, too," he whispered, low enough that Vince may not have even heard. I just don't want to lose you. Opening his eyes again, he looked at Gavin, offering a nervous smile, "Th-then... I mean. If you still want... still want us, now that you, uh. Now that, I think, everything's out in the open..."

Gavin tried to hesitate to seem at least a little less eager than he was, but it didn't work. "Yes." He replied almost before Benji finished speaking. "Yes. I do. I... Yeah. I do." As he spoke Gavin was grinning and laughing and all together looking like he was really really really ridiculously happy. He gave Benji another quick kiss on the lips, then turned to Vince and hesitated, even though it was okay now. Even so, it still felt a little taboo when he pressed his lips against Vince's.

Vince's heart soared as he heard those three whispered words, but he tried his hardest not to let it show for Gavin's sake - he definitely, however, couldn't conceal his joy when Benji continued speaking. D-does that mean- Before he could even really process anything, Gavin's lips were on his and it was perfect because it was finally okay. He looked up at Gavin as they broke apart, eyes twinkling, and then to Benji. "We really - you mean-" he cut himself off and tackled Benji in a hug, then waved Gavin over. "C'mon!" He pulled the third boy into the hug, grinning like an idiot.

The jolt of jealousy that he felt actually seeing Gavin and Vince kissing was, thankfully, quite short lived. Was jealous even the right word for the feeling? He wasn't entirely sure.

Benji couldn't help but give a startled laugh when Vince tackled him, returning the hug easily, even after shifting to account for Gavin, as well. He thought maybe it was worth it, just to see how happy the two other boys looked in that moment; Benji wasn't sure he'd ever seen either of them grinning so widely. They both deserved that happiness, too - there was no denying that. Pressing a light kiss to Vince's cheek, he nuzzled into his neck for a moment, just enjoying the hug. This seemed like a promising start.
