Although we had fewer total pieces this time around, we had a wider range of characters and pairings than in previous years -- even a number of characters never before featured in Kinky Kristmas -- thus proving that Daily Deviant continues to produce some of the most interesting, unsual, and varied fic and art to be found in the fandom. A huge round of applause to all of this year's fantastic authors and artists! These are to be used by both members and watchers who are participating. Please use a "highlight to read warnings" bar only if you are warning for a potential plot spoiler. Remember, pieces are to be submitted to us at dd.mods at gmail by Friday, November 30. Send fic as a .doc or .rtf file; no Googledocs please. | Below you'll find a list of all the wishes submitted by our members. There's a huge variety: het, femslash, and slash, all sorts of pairings, threesomes and moresomes, romantic themes to dark ones, and, of course, dozens of different kinks. They range from a little bit naughty to thoroughly filthy. Something for everyone! In order to make a claim, simply reply to this post and tell us the number of the wish you'd like to fulfill. Comments are screened to preserve anonymity. Each wish can be claimed only once, and as they're taken they'll be struck off the list. We'll be monitoring the post closely and crossing out wishes as they're claimed. If the prompt you pick has already been taken, we'll let you know right away; otherwise you can assume you got the wish you wanted.Members, you have a 24 hour "head start" to make your claims before watchers join in.
Watchers: a post will go up at noon (U.S. Eastern time) tomorrow (September 30th) to let you know you may begin claiming wishes.Completed pieces are due by Friday, November 30 and should be emailed to dd.mods@gmail.com. | At last, all the down and dirty info you need in order to play in Kinky Kristmas 2012! In keeping with the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it" school of thought, we're keeping things essentially the same as last year. For those who are new to the game or who just need a refresher, here's how it works...
The Basics
Our members work hard all year 'round to provide the fandom with quality kinky pr0n, and they deserve a reward in December. They'll be making smutty wishes for fics and art that would make their holidays happy, then both members AND watchers will get to claim and fulfill those wishes. We're excited to give our watchers an opportunity to take part in thanking our members and to participate in the comm with us. And who knows -- we might even find a talented new member or two!
Additionally, Kinky Kristmas is going double-blind anonymous once again this year. The wishes will be posted anonymously and the claiming will also take place anonymously. All pieces will be submitted to the mods (dd.mods@gmail.com) for anonymous posting throughout December. Author/artist reveals will take place in early January.
The Details
Tomorrow -- Wednesday, September 19 -- we will put up a post asking members to begin submitting their wishes. This will be done through screened comments to the post. We'll continue collecting wishes for one week.
Saturday, September 29 we will post a numbered list of all the wishes and claiming will begin. Claiming will also be done though screened comments to the post. Each participant may claim one wish to fulfill, and claiming will be on a first-come-first-served basis. Once claimed, a prompt will be struck from the list. Our members will have a 24 hour "head start" to make claims before watchers may begin.
Participants will have all of October and November to create their works. All pieces are due by Sunday, November 30. Requirements for fic and art are the same as all other months on the comm. Fic must be a minimum of 1,000 words and art must be a finished piece. Both fic and art must merit at least an R rating. Watchers' fics must fit into a single IJ post. No crossovers permitted. Headers and other submission guidelines will come later.
Both members' and watchers' pieces will be posted anonymously throughout December. At this time the names of the wishers/giftees will be revealed, so everyone will get to find out for whom they've written/drawn. Author/artist reveals will be posted in early January.

Before we get to the big reveal, we're going to take just a moment to extend some very heartfelt thank yous. Once again, Kinky Kristmas was a smashing success, and none of it could have been possible without you. - Thank you to everyone, both members and watchers, who read, viewed, commented, and recced throughout December. We're all here for the interaction with like-minded fans, so without people like you, there'd be no Kinky Kristmas or Daily Deviant or HP fandom at all. I think most of us have noticed that there's been a bit of a drop off in commenting across fandom over the last year or two. Nonetheless, this year's KK generated more than 1,200 comments on its 70 pieces, and we've had enough recs to have 37 pieces (one more than last year!) listed in the Daily Snitch!! We truly cannot thank you all enough. - Second, huge thanks to the members and watchers who contributed fic and art to this year's event. You all clearly put your collective best foot forward, as the response proves.
