9th January 2014 00:00 - Kinky Kristmas 2013 Statistics
...And we're back with this year's Wacky Stats! The tallies this time around are quite interesting. Some things have remained consistent from previous years while others have changed considerably...

This year we ended up with a grand total of 56 pieces -- an increase of 13 over last year!

Here's a breakdown:

Slash: 26
Het: 18
Femslash: 7
Mixed: 5 (those containing some combination of slash/het/femslash)

Or viewed another way:

Pieces containing slash: 31
Pieces containing het: 23
Pieces containing femslash: 8

Femslash, which has been quite popular in Kinky Kristmas over the last three years, saw its best year yet! 12.5% of the pieces were exclusively femslash. As a matter of fact, the love of ladies was up in general. 50% of the pieces featured females in flagrante delicto while the other 50% were strictly male/male (or male/male/male, or male/male/male/male...).

Speaking of groups... threesomes and foursomes were a hit this year. 10 pieces contained three or four partners practicing together, and some of those configurations were very interesting indeed.

What about specific characters?

Across our 56 pieces, we saw a total of 47 different characters -- 45 canon characters plus 2 OCs. That's only 1 fewer than what we had in 2011, and there were also 14 more pieces that year!

Ten of those characters were completely new to Kinky Kristmas! Warm welcomes to Aberforth, Amelia, Daphne, Dolohov, McNair, Oliver, Peter, and Rosmerta -- who appeared twice!, and to (the elder) Sirius Black and Hester Gamp, who came all the way from 1897 to participate.

So which characters were most frequently featured?

There was a tie for first place. Snape reclaimed the top spot after having been pushed down by Harry last year (tee-hee). However, he has to share the stage with Draco. Each of them were featured in 14 pieces. As a matter of fact, 45% of the pieces featured one, the other, or both of them. Extra congrats to Draco, because we're fairly certain this is his first time scoring first place in this particular category!

Harry dropped slightly in the rankings from last year but still claims the second place spot with his 12 pieces. And just behind Harry with 11 pieces is Sirius.

Fifth place goes to Ron, who had his best year yet with 7 pieces. Charlie and Remus were each featured in 6 pieces. And what about the women? Minerva, Pansy, and Hermione were in 5 pieces each.

The Weasley siblings were down in popularity last year. So how did they fare this time around? Never fear, Weasley fans; they're back up! 17 pieces -- that's 30% of the total -- featured at least one Weasley. However, it seems that bookends have fallen out of fashion. Fred-n-George were entirely absent! We assume they've simply been getting up to perverted antics someplace secret. They're sure to pop up again... The question is, do they do it in unison? Hmm...

Also conspicuously absent was Luna. Our one-time winner of the "Most Adventurous Sex Life" award didn't appear at all this year! Perhaps she's busy learning some new techniques with the Weasley twins someplace...?

Sadly, there was also not an animal, magical creature, or sentient plant in sight this time. Woe!

Well, never mind our preferences! Which characters were the most, er, popular with each other??

We have a four way tie!! Harry, Draco, Snape, and Charlie all had 10 partners apiece!

This is Charlie's first time to hit the top spot in the particular category. It's especially impressive given that he only appeared in 6 pieces! Does this mean Charlie is the "quality over quantity" sort..? Perhaps not, since he was in three threesomes and a foursome...

Well, at least Snape's sensibilities are easy to figure out. It seems that he prefers his own sex on the whole but has a special fondness for older women. His partners included men of ages ranging from Harry and Draco to Moody and Aberforth plus two older women -- Minerva and Pomona.

Draco also has a clear preference for his own sex, with Hermione as the only exception. Although it appears that he enjoys dressing as the opposite sex on occasion...

The next closest contenders were Sirius, Kingsley, and Neville with 6 partners each. This may have been Kingsley's best Kristmas yet, by the way. Several other characters enjoyed the company of 5 or 4 partners apiece.

The most popular pairings look a bit different this time:

Harry/Draco - 4 (including 1 threesome)
Sirius/Remus - 4 (including 1 foursome)
Snape/Draco - 3
Snape/Sirius - 3 (including 1 threesome)
Sirius/James - 3 (including 1 threesome and 1 foursome)

Harry/Draco and Snape/Sirius being on the list is nothing new (and yay for that, say the Snack-loving mod and the H/D-loving one). However, this is the first time we've seen the other three pairings here! This is also the first time that Snape/Harry has not appeared on the list -- although they were together in two pieces. We also counted seven other pairings that appeared twice.

Most Adventurous Sex Life? Well, no one was terribly adventurous given the distinct lack of animals, magical creatures, plants, tentacled beasts, dark lords, and ghosts. We'll give it to Draco, though, for tackling all three members of the Trio, two Weasleys, an Auror, his former Potions professor, and a foursome with three highly dangerous Death Eaters -- one of whom was his own father. He also gets bonus points for some very convincing crossdressing.

And the award for Most Unusual and Unexpected Pairing...? It's pretty tough to judge this year, but we're going to have to go with Regulus/Scorpius. Given a double generation gap and a canon death, that's a pretty difficult pair to put together! Our runners up, however, have to be Snape/Kingsley/Aberforth and Minerva/Rosmerta.

Congrats, everyone, for a most unusual and diverse collection of great pieces this year! See you back here tomorrow evening for reveals...
