Lysa, when moving the comms, there is a way to move all the entries at once. A bulk move similar to LJSec, only the problem is that it moves every entry into one "account" so to speak. I don't know how to do it, and couldn't if I wanted to since it's a Mac program, but if your users don't mind, you might look at that as an option. What we did for

slash_heaven was to set up dummy mod accounts so that if I need to have multiple people editing or deleting entries, I can do that.

Anything that gets fandom off LJ as soon as possible, I'm all for it. I'll be moving my d_d entries today.

Yeah, I have seen it. The only problem is the copyright, one has to tag everything by hand (ad the real username in the post) or? Does it follow the post automatically?

It could be cool to use for DD, but it means that people lose control over their posts and I dislike that a lot. Also, not everyone might want to have their things on IJ at all.

I have access to Mac, so it is doable, but I think we move by hand to DD. I'm glad to hear it went smoothly with your comm move, I am so going to try for the comms where it doesn't matter who is the owner of the post.

The program puts in "Original poster: *username*", which was actually a happy discovery for us as we had just decided to do that by hand after transfering everything. I really don't know how to use it, but nessime_lisen on LJ (can't remember if that's her IJ name or not) did it for me and she could probably tell you exactly what she did.

Moving by hand to DD is probably best, simply because no one would have more than fifteen or so posts to move (with exception to those who have multiple posting dates and are multi-talented *so jealous*) and could do it faster probably than the program. It does take time for setup before you can push the transfer button, after all.

Also, did you want us to lock the posts as we transfer them, or are we going to try for an open comm again?

	I know, just throw them in there and give pr0n to the people! :D We do this out in the open, all Squeaky asks for, is that we post under cut and with a user info warning (I'll put that up a little later). So definitely not locked. Good, with the user names added, that's a cool feature. (Reply to this) (Parent)

	Are you thinking of using a tool to move the contents of d_d on LJ over here? Or just leaving it up to people to move their own pieces if they want? I'd like to see the entire contents of the comm moved, for the sake of preservation, personally, but that's just my own inconsequential opinion. ;) (Reply to this) (Thread)

	I would love to move everything in one go. Only we can't unless all members give their consent. At the moment it is only possible to move things so they are posted by one account, even if they will be tagged with the original poster's name. I'd personally never give my permission to that, and I understand why people wouldn't. (Reply to this) (Parent)
