Rating: NC17
Kinks/Themes Included: Incest
Other Warnings: NWS
Artist's Notes: Regulus has always broken my heart with how alone he seems, and I don't think it would have been a great stretch to have him fantasize about Sirius. Even if only to embrace the one person who was strong enough to leave the Black family, to be protected and loved by him. Being a simple soul myself, I needed some help getting that message across and while I am lucky enough to have had several DD writers answer my request, [info]florahart was the quickest, and was kind enough to write me the drabble to get my thoughts across much clearer. Thank you so much Flora! And thanks, as always, to the mods for their tireless work in keeping this community going.

Family reunion.

It's a phrase that doesn't make sense any more, and Regulus finds himself pulling back against a wall that feels cold and unwelcome.

There is no family here.

Bellatrix's rambling monologue is too fractured to follow, and Narcissa's attention is all on her peacock of a husband. Mother is still full of rage she hasn't let go of in five years, over Andromeda and her blood treason, and now over…Sirius.

The wall isn't what shudders a tiny quake as he thinks about the brother that he can no longer claim, the one that chose a family of a whole different kind. The one that left.

He edges further away from Father's ongoing (never-ending, ever-present) diatribe, which everyone else in the room is eating up, and sidles around the corner, into a space he and Sirius used to share, heads bent close, secrets whispered, bodies aligned. He didn't know his family was a fantasy, until Sirius left, and now all he has is the shape of him, the memory of smiles and bright eyes touching and dragging him gasping along after ideas that he can't catch any more.

He doesn't know what he might have done to keep Sirius--he thinks of things, and he wants them, wants to offer them, if they'll bring back Sirius, but whether they'd have worked is a separate question, one he can't answer.

When he eases the door open and slides through, he knows it will be only a matter of time before Mother sends for him, before Kreacher comes looking. If he wants family, if he wants this reunion to be one worth remembering, it will have to be on his own, with the Sirius of his best imagination.

He lets his eyes lose focus, and unfastens the buttons of his robe.

OMG, this is gorgeous! Absolutely. Gorgeous. I love the panel in the centre especially - such desperation and love and hotness. :) And the one of Regulus - so heartbreaking! But besides the subject matter, I'm in love with your elegant lines of their bodies, and the way you've drawn their hair, especially Sirius's longer strands.

The ficlet is wonderful, too! A perfect companion to the art.

I LOVE this. :)

This is gorgeous. The story is so heartbreaking, and with the beautiful art, this just makes it more hard to take. Regulus breaks my heart, with his loneliness. And Sirius in the picture is so caring of Regulus. AH, I wish I can embrace this. This is just...GAH. So wonderful! *CRIES*

Poor Regulus! *cuddles him* Love that middle frame of he and Sirius, the last one is completely heartbreaking. Great job.

Oh gosh, Regulus' feelings of loneliness and having been abandoned are palpable here. I so want him to go after Sirius, but I know he won't -- doesn't.

I adore how tender and protective Sirius looks as he cradles Regulus and leans down to kiss him. And Regulus looks so trusting and surrendering. Sirius' hair is fantastic too, and his face -- he looks just as I imagine young Sirius.

The art and the ficlet match so well; wonderful collaborative work!

This is so poignant - lightning fic sketches of the Black family in all its monstrousness, so complemented by the tenderness of the art. Beautiful pairing of artist and writer.

And mystery author, you captured the tone of this art so well. Your words just made my heart break into a thousand tiny pieces. Just fantastic.

Thank you both!

Gorgeous! The art goes so well with the story. Regulus's loneliness his broken heart is so clear on the last image. The come still on his hand and the tears dripping off his face. It's all so very sad. The center image I can see a very tender Sirius, I love his face. Beautiful art as always :)

You made me angry with Sirius, how could he not see, how his little brother adore him, and how he needs him more than anyone...
