Announcement: Daily Deviant@LJ is Moving!
Dear members and watchers,
Since LJ has now clarified that we are personally responsible for what we link to on externals sites, we have decided we would like to find a more welcoming environment, which seems to be this place.
Daily Deviant is moving, and we are moving fast. From 1st September 2007, daily_deviant on InsaneJournal will be our official home. We will continue to have an open community on Greatest Journal, for those who wish to store their work there as well. Whether we are posting a monthly masterlist to DD-LJ remains yet to be decided.
The LiveJournal community will stay in place as an archive of our past efforts and work, but it will be locked as it is now and no new work will appear there. Membership (but not posting access) will be open to all watchers over 18. daily_deviant@LJ will stay here for your reading pleasure until LJ ToSes it. Anyone who wishes to delete their work are free to do so.
While it's sad to leave the place that's been our home these past 18 months, those of us who have already spent some time on IJ have found it to be an open, lively, and inclusive environment.
We do realise that not everyone will make this move with us, and that will be our greatest loss. This place is not a true community without the individuals who form it. Still, we hope that the vast majority of our members and watchers will take this opportunity to get things back to normal and make daily_deviant bigger and better than ever.
So, in the future, posting of fic and art will take place on InsaneJournal. Everyone who wishes to keep their current posting date will of course do so. Please, let us know if you wish to have a different date from now on. We hope as many as possible will follow us to InsaneJournal, but if you cannot, please tell us as soon as possible so that we can free up that date on the posting schedule.
The community on IJ will be unlocked, just as it used to be on LJ, before the 6A began their small crusade. Also, we will ask those of you who want to transfer your fics to IJ to do so before the 1st September. We will open the days where no one is posting to archiving, but we ask you to respect your fellow artists and authors and refrain from archiving on days with a scheduled poster.
Lee has, due to RL demands, chosen to resign as a mod, but luckily she stays on as a writer when time permits. We are very sorry to see her go, but understand the demands of the real world. We wish Lee all the best in the future, and thank her for all the work she has done. Daily Deviant wouldn't have been as successful as it's been without her tremendous efforts.
Thank you, Lee! You will be missed! Also, we have a small gift for you, that can be found here. We ask all our members and watchers to go and add to it.
It will of course be impossible to replace Lee. But we did our best, so we present to you a new face on the modly team: r_grayjoy. She will be in charge of tagging of posts and can be reached on dd.tags@gmail.com for questions about tagging. Welcome, Rowan!
The calendar with posting dates is now handled by ragdoll (ragdoll on IJ), ragdoll can be reached via dd.dates@gmail.com or by commenting in the calendar thread (linked in the side bar on both DD-IJ and DD-LJ). snapelike is in charge of themes and coding. If there are specific questions about themes or codes, please use dd.themes@gmail.com. As usual, dd.mods@gmail.com forwards to all the maintainers.
If you have questions regarding the move, please use this thread or mail to dd.mods@gmail.com
