Summary; Well, you could take a little break and visit fantasy land, where the grass is green and castles stand proud on the rolling hills . . Women are best friends and have beautiful babies . . .
The young ladies sat in the plush green grass. They lived in royalty and they were each expecting a child.
"The world today isn't like the one we grew up in," one of them said. "How are we going to know for sure that whoever marries our babies will be good to them? Truly love them and keep them safe?"
"We could swear here and now that our children will be betrothed and get marred. It doesn't matter to me with we have one boy and one girl or two of one. I don't think the world would give them too much trouble if they were both of the same sex. As long as they have a kind heart, we would be assured of our child's happiness."
"I agree. We should figure out the details," the first one went back to picking at the grass as she rubbed her growing belly.
The other lady with a considerably smaller stomach agreed. They only had a couple days before they each had to go back to their kingdoms. The childhood friends cherished every minute they had together. They were able to be lighthearted, smile, and recount their childhood memories with laughter. There had never been two better friends.
***
The first lady passed away in childbirth. Her father was so angry and hurt that he banished his grandson and son-in-law to the huts that surrounded the castle. They were still protected by the kingdom's walls, but they lived in the dirt, struggling to put food on the table.
The king's heart never softened toward his grandson. He regretted it as he laid on his deathbed. But, his stubbornness would not let anyone fetch his grandson for him. His birth killed the king's daughter. He never laid eyes on him.

The second lady gave birth to a healthy baby boy just a few months after her friend. She was sad that her friend was unable to experience the joys of being a mother. From the very beginning, she made it clear to her son that he was already betrothed. She gave him as much information as she could about his intended.
When Jensen was of the age where most men were married, his parents sent him on a search for Jared. There had been no contact with Jared’s family since his mother’s passing. So, Jensen packed some supplies and took two servants and two bodyguards with on his trek to the kingdom that Jared’s mother had been a princess in.
They rode for three days. They camped at night, Jensen in a tent and his servants under the stars. One bodyguard slept just outside the tent flap. The other kept an eye on the camp. One bodyguard was awake at all times. Jensen was a kind person. If it had been adverse weather, the servants and bodyguards would have been in the tent, too. He was not cruel, but he tried to keep the boundaries between them. They knew how lucky they were that he had chosen them to serve him.
On the third day of travel, they approached the castle walls. They were granted entrance but told that the person they were looking for did not live in the castle.
“Where is he?” Jensen demanded. “Wasn’t his grandfather king? Why isn’t he in the castle?”
“He and his father were banished from the castle after Jared’s birth caused the death of the King’s daughter. After the King died, his son, Chad, did nothing to correct the wrong that had been done. He’s left his nephew and brother-in-law struggling. I can get a servant to show you where,” the lady at the door told Jensen.
“Please,” Jensen sighed. “I have traveled a long way. I just want to rest before we head back.”
The lady called for a servant who stayed on foot as he showed them where Jared lived. Jensen gave the servant a couple coins for his trouble and assistance.
Jensen’s first thought as he looked at the hut was that it had to be a twisted joke. The roof was thatched, patched time and time again as was needed.
Jensen dismounted and knocked on the front door.
A haggard older man opened the door and invited them in when he remembered who Jensen was. He vaguely recalled Jensen’s mother laughing like a school girl with Jared’s mother. It was that carefree steak that had attracted him to her in the first place.
“Jensen, please honor us with your presence. I’m sorry that the house is a mess. We just sleep here. We’re usually working. That’s where Jared is right now.”
Jensen just nodded at Jared’s father as he stepped in to the gloomy, dirty abode. Jared’s father started to cough and spit up blood. He was hiding behind his handkerchief but Jensen still noticed the older man’s distress.
“Have you seen a doctor?”
“No, Sir,” was his reply.
"Why not?"
"Nothing to barter with, Sir. We don't have anything that we don't need."
Jensen gave him some coins and said, "Go see a doctor. I will wait here for Jared."
The man looked at him, unsure of what to do.
"I'll make myself at home. I'll be here when you get back. Just go see the doctor."
The man nodded and hurried off.
"Well," Jensen told his servants, "This is most definitely not what I expected."

Jared came in from work carrying a bucket of water from the well. He stopped when he saw Jensen.
"Who are you?" Jared asked.
"You must be Jared," Jensen held out his hand.
Jared just looked at Jensen's hand. "Where is my father?"
"At the doctor's."
"We don't have anything to give the doctor in return," Jared was suspicious.
"I gave him a couple coins, more than enough to compensate the doctor."
"Why would you do that? Just who the hell are you?" Jared noticed the others for the first time. "Why are you here?"
"Your parents didn't tell you," Jensen put his hand back at his side.
"Tell me what?"
"No need to stand in the doorway. Why don't we sit and chat?"
"You should get out of my home."
"I told your father I'd be here when he got back. He knew who I was, otherwise I wouldn't have been granted entrance. Sit and I'll tell you more about who I am and how our lives are intertwined."
Jared set the bucket of water on the table. "Okay. Talk."
Jensen smiled. "Our mothers were childhood friends," he started to retell the story that he'd heard so many times. "They were both with child at the same time. Knowing how mean the world and people in it could be, they promised their children to each other. They meant for us to be betrothed and get married."
"I think I would have been told about something like that. How could our mothers have been friends, coming from different classes?"
"Your mother was a princess, like mine."
"My mother died when I was born. I've never lived in a castle. You're lying."
"No, I'm not lying. When your mother died in childbirth, the King banished you and your father to where you are now. He never even laid eyes on you. He blamed you for your mother's death."
"It wasn't my fault," Jared's voice cracked.
"I didn't say it was. It was just the grief of the King that made him see it that way. Anyhow, I've come to fetch you to come to my kingdom where you will be treated as you should have always been. Your father can come, too, of course. I'll make sure he gets the best medical care."
"What's the catch?"
"Nothing. We're just doing what our mothers promised each other. They swore to raise their children to have generous hearts and then they would be good spouses, loving and faithful."
"You want to get married?"
"I want to get to you to my kingdom first. Then, we'll work out the details. First, we have to see what your father finds out at the doctor. Then, we can get ready to depart. Once we arrive at the castle, we can have the royal doctor care for your father and move both you and your father into my quarters there."
"Both of us?"
"I have plenty of room," Jensen smiled. "You and your father will want for nothing."
Jared just looked at him.
"My mother is looking forward to seeing you. She can tell you all sorts of stories about adventures she had with your mother."

Jared's father came home to find Jensen and Jared at the table.
"What did the doctor say?" Jensen asked.
"Just a cough, nothing else, Sir."
Jared looked at his father. "Why did you address him as Sir?"
"Because I know who he is, Jared. I always wondered if he'd come for you."
"Why didn't you tell me anything about this?" Jared had tears in his eyes.
"Oh, Son," his father put his arms around him. "I just didn't want you getting your hopes up and then maybe have him not show. He's your ticket out of here, Son. To live the life you were meant to lead."
"We also planned on taking you, Mr. Padalecki. You'll have the royal doctor to look after you."
"That is too generous," he was stunned.
"Nonsense. You're family now," Jensen waved it off. "Unless Jared doesn't want to do this."
"Okay. Yes. I'm fine with this. It just took me by surprise. Here I didn't know a thing about it and now you're here," Jared was rambling nervously.
"It's going to be alright, Son. Life will be easier from now on," his father tried to assure him.
Jared wished he felt the same.
***
It didn't take long to pack up their meager belongings. Jared looked around the empty hut and felt homesick. It was the only home he'd known and now he was leaving to go to a place far away and unknown to him. As long as his father wanted to go, he supposed he could at least try to make the best of it.
Jared and his father didn't have the luxury of horses. So, Jared rode behind Jensen and his father behind one of the servants. While his father didn't complain, Jared felt a little awkward wrapping his arms around a man he didn't know. Then again, Jensen was his intended. Riding on a horse behind him shouldn't feel so odd.
Jensen had a certain smell to him that kept wafting up to Jared. It was a pleasant scent and relaxed Jared a little. His arms were wrapped around Jensen's waist and he could feel the hard muscle under his clothing and tried not to picture what they would look like because he had to concentrate on staying on the horse.
When they stopped for the night, Jared's father told him, "Jensen is a fine young man. He didn't have to offer to bring me with. Taking care of your ailing father wasn't part of the deal. I remember his family as the generous sort. He'll be good to you, Jared. Remember that."
Jared nodded as he listened to his father. He gave the older man a smile and tried to hide his apprehension.
Jensen had the tent set up for him and Jared. Tristan, Jared's father, decided to sleep under the night sky. Jared was more than just a little uneasy about what the evening was supposed to bring.
The servants prepared a wonderful supper over the campfire. Then, they set up their beds along with Tristan's around the fire.
Jensen said his goodnights and motioned for Jared to retire with him. Jared said a quick goodnight to his father before nervously going to Jensen, who put a steadying hand at the small of his back as he led him to their tent.
Jensen drew back the flap and revealed the inside which was softly lit by a lantern. There were piles of pillows and blankets. Jensen took off his shoes just outside the tent so Jared did the same.
Next, Jared stepped inside and waited for Jensen to tie the flaps closed. He heard the bodyguard lie down outside the opening to the tent.
"There's a basin over here," Jensen led him to a basin with a couple cloths. "I like to get the dirt of the road off before going to bed. The servants have laid out a cloth and towel for you, too, if you'd like them."
Jared nodded but made no move toward Jensen. Realizing Jared's hesitation, Jensen just continued his nightly ritual of removing layers of clothing, laying the outer ones in one pile and the ones that were closer to his skin in another. When he was down to just a pair of shorts, he started to wash.
Jensen slowly washed each part of his body, feeling Jared's eyes on him the whole time. He dipped the cloth back in the water and wrung it out.
"Come here, Jared," Jensen's voice was soft as he held out his hand to Jared. "This is new for both of us. We'll be fine."
Jared took Jensen's hand and moved toward the basin. Jared removed his clothing and would have put it in two separate piles if he'd had that many layers. Jensen's piles were of clothes made of expensive material. Jared's clothes were patched, worn and made of whatever they happened to be able to afford.
"We'll get you some new clothes, Jared," Jensen wrung out the cloth and started with Jared's face and neck. "We'll get new ones for Tristan, too. There is no excuse why your uncle didn't reverse what his father had decreed when he came to the throne. No one will hurt you like that again. I won't let them."
Jared had a shaky smile on his face. He was trying to relax. This man was going to be his husband. He was just gently washing him, surely he should be able to stand still and not shake.
Jensen noticed the trembling and put a hand behind Jared's head, pulling him down so their foreheads touched. "I'm not going to let anyone hurt you, remember? I'm the last person you have to worry about, Jared. Give it some time, you'll get used to my touch. No pressure or anything. I'm just helping you clean up."
Jared gave Jensen his best smile and he went back to washing. Jensen hung the cloth over the edge of the basin and rubbed Jared dry with a towel before climbing into their bed.
"What has you so nervous?" Jensen asked in the soft lantern light.
"I've never been with a man before," his eyes flickered up to Jensen's face and then back down. "I've been with a few ladies, but never men."
"Ahh. So you're wondering if this marriage thing is something you want to do?"
"It's not that--"
"You'd like to know what you're getting into?"
Jared shrugged.
"I've been with both men and women, Jared. I know I could be happy with you. Do you want to try and see if you like being with me? If you don't, we can turn back around and bring you home or we can have a marriage for appearances only and have ladies on the side. Whichever will make you happy.'
"Maybe we should--try, I mean. I don't know," Jared was flustered.
"We can try, Jared. It's okay."
"Are you sure? Does it hurt?"
"I'd never hurt you, Jared," Jensen's eyes proved that he meant it.
"Okay. What do I do?"
Jensen carefully moved Jared so that he was lying comfortably on his stomach, surrounded by pillows
"First, these have to go," Jensen pulled off Jared's shorts and removed his own. He sucked on his fingers, coating them thick with saliva before circling around Jared's entrance. "Now, when I press in, try not to tense up."
"Okay."
Jensen moved one digit in.
"Not working," Jared said through gritted teeth.
Jensen rubbed Jared's hip and small of his back. "There, Jared. That's better. How does it feel?"
"Different."
"Well, different isn't exactly bad," Jensen said as he bent his finger to prod Jared's pleasure center.
"Ahh!"
"Good?"
"Yeah, good," Jared was breathing heavy.
Jensen added another digit and it went in smoother than the first. The third, well, didn't go in.
"Just you now, Jensen. Just you."
Jensen talked Jared through it, how he needed to picture himself relaxed and open.
He put his tip at Jared's entrance and slowly added pressure so see if he would fit. Jensen was holding his breath.
Jared didn't say anything until he started to panic, "Too much. Too much," and scramble out from underneath Jensen.
Jensen quickly pulled away, "Okay. It's okay, Jared." He moved around to help Jared settle back in.
"It's over now," Jensen brushed back Jared's hair. "Just lie here a minute."
He came back with a washcloth and held it on Jared's red hole. "Does that help?"
"Yeah. This is so embarrassing," Jared covered up his head.
"Why?" Jensen asked. "It's just the two of us here."
"I couldn't even go through with . . . I couldn't even . . ."
"Your body just didn't cooperate today, Jared. You've had quite a few changes in the last twenty-four hours. It's hard to relax when you don't know me that well."
"But I should have just let you--I shouldn't have stopped you."
"No. That's not how this works. There's no letting me or not letting me. Either we're both there or we're not. I'm not going to push myself on you." Jensen flipped the cloth to apply another cool part to the sore opening.
Jensen put the cloth away, covered them up and realized that Jared was crying.
"What's wrong, Jared? Where do you want it to go from here?"
"Don't send me back. My father would be so disappointed in me."
"I'd never send you back," Jensen wiped away some tears. "I only offered it as an option in case you wanted to go."
"I don't want to go back."
"So you want to get married and we can decide later if there are ladies on the side? Or does being with me totally turn you off?"
"You're so tender and caring. I'm fond of you but I don't know how the physical part will go."
"Being fond of me is good enough," Jensen smiled. "We can work our way slowly from there."
Jared gave him a genuine smile and won Jensen's heart. What Jensen didn't know was that he already had Jared's.
