Happy Halloween! We've got both party threads up. Both parties are costume parties, so if you go otherwise dressed don't be surprised if you get an odd look. The school party will be more relaxed, but still fun. The gentlemen's club party is mandatory costumes and masks. The costumes are easy to fudge and if you don't have a mask, you'll be given one at the door. Have fun! ;)
Go ahead and post here what you'll be dressing up as so we all know as players and we don't have to worry about links in posts and stepping on toes. Easy reference! ;)

Hello there!
I have a question that I would like to post to you!
Demi will be going to the secret masquerade and I as her writer would like if if someone would like to do a thread with her and a guy. It's one of those things where they would never get together but they can't see each others faces. If you would like to do this, let me know! I don't think that the thread will be anything higher than a PG-13 but we can discuss if you want to do that as well!
Hope everyone is doing good!

Not everyone in game has told us if you want to be in our big plot yet! :( If Millicent, Demi, and Ron are interested still, let us know in this post! Speaking of the big plot, it's going to start today! :) How it'll work is that we'll be sending out emails to you on any given day. About three to four will go out in each round of emails. The deal with this is that you have three days from getting your email to write about it. You can do a journal, a thread by yourself, or a thread opener. You just have to express somehow what is happening in game to your character. This plot will last a little past Halloween and end on November 12th.
Other plot points you might want to know is that making potions and working in Herbology has been okayed! However, wand usage has still not be okayed by the team from the the Department of Mysteries. The school is still planning to carry on with their traditional Halloween dinner and a lovely bash is scheduled for afterward. If you're one of the more adventurous or naughty ones, the town's local "cabaret" AKA the gentleman's club AKA whore house is throwing their annual secret masquerade. ;) You'll need to be tricky and sneak to the party. We suggest going in pairs. Costumes and masks are required because what happens behind closed doors stays behind closed doors so the masks help maintain the secrecy. We'll have two posts up. One for the people who decided to be goodie-goodies and stay at school and one for the naughty ones that sneaked out to town. They'll be posted the day before Halloween because we know some people might have parties to go to, but it will still take place on Halloween. You don't have to join it within those two days, so don't feel like when November hits that you can't reply! In the end, the kids that sneaked out will be busted. Even if you're not caught, they'll know you were there ;)
For Quidditch plot, if Quidditch has been okayed then there will be a match between Dark Claw and Jabberwockies on November 7th!
Monthly activity check-ups. We want everyone to know that this month we are not going to be checking up on journal activity, but remember that after this month there will be and you'll need to make 3 journals per character. Please remember to reply to everyone that replies in your journal, no matter how late they reply to your journal or how long it's been since they've replied. Don't just come and make a journal for yourself and reply to people in your journal. That's all nice and well, but please remember to reply to other journals on the front page since they've given your the courtesy of replying to your journal.
Secondly, we are going to do check-ups on threads this month. That's one for each character and remember that doesn't count group threads. So that means that the two party threads coming up will not count as a part of your activity check as we encourage those for interaction between characters and players who haven't threaded with each other yet. We know there's not that many days in the month, but here's what you can do: an open thread (like Isabel's who's still open ;)) or do one by yourself. The alone threads need to be longer than four paragraphs. Regular threads need to go back and forth at least three to four times for it to count as activity.

Sorry I've been so...not here at all lately! It's been crazy the last couple of weeks. After this weekend everything should slow down a lot more because I know for sure that I owe replies/need to start threads/do journals. So! Those shall be done once this weekend is over. Sorry for the inconvenience. Let's just say...Kit is avoiding everyone somehow because she's her and just dislikes people and Maisie is sick.

Okay, sorry it took so long, but now we're here with all of the island information you need. If it's not enough then give us a poke and we'll give you what you need.
The island is a big place, relatively 78 square miles. The island itself is a thinly shaped ragged coastline crescent facing toward the west coast of Scotland. At the southern curve of the crescent lies the village. This will be an entire post within itself that we'll try to condense here for you all. The town with a current number of 150 residents sits at the open mouth of a small river that winds itself up half the island. A small bridge connects the southern and northern ends of the town that during floods can sometimes be seen sloshed by the high tide. On the southern side you'll find a host of what the staff would like to consider more "family friendly" establishments. The majority of family homes are on this side are one story spread out on decently sized lots with the most colorful assortment of doors imaginable. The mayor's wanna-be stately manor with its garish yellow siding and ornate gingerbread trim make it pop from the rest of the islands architecture. A small shrine to the sailors past of the village sits in a small wooden rotunda in a overgrown traditional english garden only minutes from the towns craggy two story courthouse/town hall which has regular meetings every Sunday evening. A small grocer supplying the island with a few needed goods not found from the sea sits near the bridge; inside is the crammed 6 by 6 foot store stocking their Victorian shelving and woven basket filled with cheeses, fruit, veggies and mainland animal meats. Don't be surprised to see some chicken with the feathers still hanging on. This isn't your local super market! Across that shop flanking the other side of the bridge is a small shoppe that's ridiculously baroque in interior and almost not noticeable from the outside. Inside it's at the whim of it eccentric owner Madame Lillana (aka Molly Pike and captain's widow) the menu always varies but a good cup of herbal tea and decent hot chocolate are always available.
Moving to the north side of the town there lies a whole lot more activity. The hilltop manor, equipped with a lovely basement bar red lights, satin sofa's and a fabulous mint cocktail, but be warned many of the village women claim that it's a more sinful place then just a gentleman's club, leaning more towards a whore house than any dance club. But that's a decent walk away from the rest of that side as a row of ghost homes and shopped sits between it and the fish market, burned one hundred and fifty years ago in a lover spat. Deadly Deana and Loose Louis still roam the area, sometimes if you're not careful you'll get caught in one of their other worldly fights. The fish market only open between 2am and 8am is a perfect cold warehouse job for anyone looking to make extra cash, but of course you have to be able to strip and gut the creatures of the deep! Further down along the small windy paths of the northside you'll find a fisherman's club only open to those who brave the rough seas, but next door you'll find a darkly light, nautical themed pub serving traditional fare but also some fairly odd dishes and drinks. Do you think you can drink more gilly weed beer than the local pub crawler Dan? We wouldn't try it. An apothecary shop, hanging alligator and odd things in glass jars included care more old school potions and cures than you'd find in Diagon Alley. Finally a store that's large and two stories filled with knick knacks, floor to ceiling, this shop can get you whatever you're looking for, whether it be your favourite chocolate bar or an oddly shaped glass door knob, they'll get it! Though it may take a few months ^__-
Alright so soon we've noticed this post is going to be HUGE if we keep going so the rest of the island will be mentioned in another post hopefully by the end of the week!!! If you have any more questions about the village feel free to poke us anywhere! (Here, aim, email)
If you've noticed the shops are not named, this is an opportunity for you to be involved in the games plot and suggest names and later we'll have a voting poll!

Bea here! I bring you everyone's least favorite Gryffindor: Jack Sloper. He's passionate, full of fire, and an ass to more people than he isn't. He'd a halfblood who's mother is a Muggleborn, so they were all brought in under charges of stealing magic. Jack was on the run and in hiding during the summer and doesn't like to talk about it. If you persist, he'll just make something up. Jack's a Seventh year this year and is struggling a little to catch up, not that he'll tell anyone. His sister is a Fifth year Slytherin and his other siblings are too young for school or aren't magical.
As usual, let me know what your characters think of him. He could use friends right now, even they aren't real friends.

Hey everyone! I'm Nijhia and I play Millicent Bulstrode. This girl is someone who has a problem with herself and alot of anger that she can't really deal with. While she prefers to work alone, she is lonely most of the time and feels like she's not good enough for anyone's company.
There is so many plottings that people could do with her! If you'd love to plot, IM me on her riddle >_>!
Oooo! Modlies? May I please be added so I can run the friend button?

Brit again! I am here with Kit Bundy! She is a 7th year Slytherin and quite the bitch.
A few tidbits of information about Miss Kit: 1. She is a pureblood but was raised in the muggle world by her Aunt Dorinda. 2. While at school she was prejudiced against muggleborns but her best friend was a muggle who ended up getting killed. 3. Kit never believed in relationships and the first time she got into one she was burned so now she's even more against them. 4. Has a bit of a reputation but ever since her last relationship ended she's been acting like a prude. 5. Suffered a mental break down at the beginning of the summer and was committed for a month but she's better now.
She's rude, crude, stubborn, will do whatever she wants. Kit wears her mind on her sleeve and she doesn't have a muzzle for that mouth of hers.
If you can handle her be my guest to be her friend!
Friends, enemies, frenemies, former flames...

The Sangster Institute |
[04 Sep 2008|06:27pm] |
Hey everyone! We’ve got the low down on the school for you here :) Here’s anything you need to know and even a few things that might not have occurred to you.
The staff and the Ministry have really tried to make the school feel at home and bring back they could to Hogwarts, including statues, tapestries, paintings, but there are still items from the former owner. Many of these range from strange to creepy or even scary. Though they've tried, the school is still sparse of knit-knacks and decor. This school is much smaller than Hogwarts and though the students should not feel cramped, the extra space is obviously no longer there.
The castle consists of three buildings: the prison building, the main building, and the attached building. Then there's an obviously smaller detached building connected by a small unenclosed roofed bridge on the third floor. This was the prison building. The third building is an add-on to the center building from the last century. It includes four towers and is a rectangular building with an incredibly large courtyard.
( Prison Building )
( Main Building )
( Attached Building )
( School Grounds )
*The class schedules will remain the same as before, so please check out the Plot Extras post for that information. The classes for alumni will be posted there before the weekend. Information about the island itself and the town will be posted on this weekend. Everyone make sure you run the old friend button, we'll post another this weekend. Have fun :)

Alright everyone, this is it. The kids are going back to school! Tomorrow afternoon, a starter thread will be posted. You can post your character anywhere from before they get on the train to inside the ship, to getting off and going to the school. This post is just going to be about the students’ first view of the island and the castle. By Wednesday there will be another post describing the island and school arranged similarly to the Hogsmeade and Hogwarts post in the mod journal. There will also be a post in the Great Hall thread where Headmistress McGonagall will be giving a speech explaining the new circumstances of the school. This will be for explaining purposes solely.
As you all know by now, the students will not be returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Instead they are going to the island of Coróinbáis to be taught at the Sangster Institute. As per normal routine, the students will go to Platform 9 and ¾s, leaving King's Cross station at 11am. They will reach the Mallaig docks in Scotland at 6pm. From there, the students will leave the train station and walk a good mile to the docks. Anyone who is wearing good summer attire for the nice London weather earlier that day will note that it's a much cooler 60 degrees. At this point, the sky is already dimming.
The students will be boarding the ship in fours and must sign their names off to keep a head count. The ship itself was donated by Durmstrang in a generous offering in sympathy for the destruction of Hogwarts. The ship is a massive wooden vessel somewhere between a Viking ship and a seventeenth century British freight. Don't be surprised to find stuffed busts of woodland creatures or intricate Nordic carvings to depict scenes from Beowulf to the valkyries to the battle of St. George and the dragon mixed in with youthful vandalism. This gift is actually several centuries old. The magic used to keep it afloat and avoid ripples isn't always stable so those on deck may find themselves soaked. Along with that, anyone feeling a chill run along her feet shouldn't worry. It's just a group of ghost rats. Dinner will be served in shifts in one of the storage compartments that's been changed into a small dining hall. Expect to be served a hardy, thick brunswick stew, crusty bread, and yes, ale as this meal is also courtesy of Durmstrang. Anyone with an urge to get drunk and sea sick, go for it. The ship will then arrive at the island on the opposite end of the school at the fishing docks. These docks are used by the island natives who are majority magical. It should be known that there are Muggles living there who are either family members of magical people, people who could not be deterred in thinking there are magical people, and old fish folk who just don't care.
The students will then file out and their luggage will be transported to the castle. They’ll be walking a dirt path uphill to the edge of the island until they come to a field of red poppies. There they’ll find floating circular carriages that are being carried by pixies. Some may notice that their pixies are more rambunctious and will move them faster, while others are not as strong and may have trouble lifting. They will be carried over the thick, dark woods that aren't forbidden but have created quite a paranoid vibe among the villagers. Should you think you see something, well that just might have happened so go with it! Once at the front grounds of the new school the students will enter through massive metal doors, currently covered with cloths, but if any dare peak they'll see metal work depicting scenes of torture and demons ruling over human subjects.
The castle is full of light, almost as if glowing in welcome to the students. First they'll enter a large open foyer decorated in large tapestries depicting the victories and accomplishments of Hogwarts. Two large halls on either side and a sweeping staircase at the far end with four small doors on either side are all to welcomes guests. Following up those stairs is a hall that was visible from the foyer but instead of separate off to the left or right they enter the pewter doors into a vase great hall but instead of the normal four tables there are two ridiculously long tables to take up the space of the castle's former ballroom. Like at Hogwarts there are still floating candles and the ceiling of the room is actually one large dome with frescos depicting the night sky. Once seated the students can easily see that there is a second floor to the room where guests could once watch the dancers below but now it's used for extra study space for the student, with gothic arches with smiling demons sprouting out from the tops of columns, allowing peek-a-boo views of shelves filled with books and small wooden tables for lone study or a tutor and student to catch up on Potions.
Finally McG will make her welcoming speech from the staff table still at the head of the room, while students indulge in chocolate cake, apple tortes, raspberry trifles and bonbons. So if you think the kids are being buttered up for something, you might be right. McG has a couple of surprises in store.
Please take all of this in and have fun with it! Again, that opener will be up tomorrow, so any threads you might want to happen before school you should hurry and get starters up for. And don’t forget to run the friend button!

HELLO! My name is Amber and I am 22 years-old. I'm a college Junior at Old Dominion University and am majoring in History. SOMEDAY I'll be a history teacher, but for now I'll have to settle with being a substitute teacher. The character I'm playing is Demelza "Demi" Robins, but I'm hoping to get more characters later.
Contact Information:
E-mail: Golden_AmberRose@yahoo.com AIM: TrueToMyself2007
NOW.. HERE'S THE INFO ON MY CHARACTER:
Demelza "Demi" Robins is a seventh year student in Gryffindor. Her birthday is on January 6th and hates it when people remember but there have been times when her friends have surprised her with a birthday party and she wanted to kill them. Her mother is a witch and her father is a muggle. She still can't understand how that one happened. Demi is the kind of girl who loves Quidditch and isn't afraid to get her hands dirty.
Right now, Demi is going through a lot of emotions. You see, because her father was a muggle, her parents made her keep her head down as much as she could a Hogwarts. She did as much as she could without "making waves". She feels as though she could have done more to stop everything that happened at Hogwarts. The first time she really made the decision to do something radical was during the fight at Hogwarts when she decided to stay and fight. This decision made her feel the best she felt in months but had its effects later. When her parents found out they weren't exactly happy. Her parents are barely speaking to her because they are still afraid that the Dark Lord is still alive and that Demi might put their family endanger as well as herself, but Demelza can take it no longer. She must take a stand for what she believes in even if it is a stupid cause.
Demelza Robins is passionate person... even for the most stupid things.
I am looking forward to working with you! *hugs*
