I know I said I'd probably be bringing in a second character soon, but you guys know how things get when it's busy. When it rains, it pours, etc. Anyway, this here is Owen Sherman, also known as the reincarnation Roy Harper, aka Speedy, Arsenal, or Red Arrow. That bratty kid sidekick of Ollie's. In this life, he's about as different in temperament from Roy as he could be, but they have a lot of other things in common. His mom re-married a member of the Navajo Nation police force when he was a kid, so Owen grew up on a res in New Mexico. He went to USC to major in Native American Studies and was being a rockstar in his field until he decided he wanted to be an actual rockstar in a band, which ended badly when he spiraled into a black hole of drugs and debauchery, of course. He got straightened out by his family and was able to patch up his education before his career could get shot too, and now he teaches at Columbia and moonlights with a few cultural museums as a consultant. He found out about his reincarnation and the Crossover sometime last year, but Nic kind of botched it and he's refused to have anything to do with them until...pretty recently. Personality-wise, he's an introvert and kind of a loner who tends to crawl into a little academic shell unless dragged out kicking and screaming. Which is just great for him, because look at his comic connections and try to imagine them leaving him alone. >:( Damn Arrow family. And Titans. September 23rd, 2009 10:31 pm Introduction. [ ] knilb Hi, everyone! My name is Mimi, and I am new to Crossover. I've stalked it a lot before finally deciding to apply, and I'm glad I did! I'm not that interesting. I have a really mean cat and I'm studying film! plum is my journal if you want to add it. I will be playing Viola Barker, the reincarnation of BLINK (Clarice Ferguson), or that purple girl that can teleport. Viola is twenty, she works at Blockbuster, and she's attending Columbia University. She is currently studying Astrophysics, and kind of having a hard time with it. Fortunately, she's a workaholic in both school and work, and thus refuses to allow her professors to win. Personality wise, she can be judgmental and standoffish. She appears to care very little about keeping/making friends, but she's also extremely emotional, and when it comes down to it, she's super lonely. She's often whispered about by her coworkers at Blockbuster who hate her guts because she's a huge pain in their ass. Viola, surprisingly, really likes hip hop and R&B. In addition to that, she enjoys classical music, since her mom and dad always played it for her to try and mold her into an intellectual. She's not really that intellectual, unfortunately. September 21st, 2009 12:21 am [ ] matzoman HELLOOOOO XOVER! I (Shay) have been working on this next dude for like A BAJILLION YEARS so I am proud to announce the ~grand entrance~ of MSSR. BEN DONOVAN, AKA NELSON GARDNER, AKA CAPTAIN METROPOLIS. Doin' it Watchmen style since the '09 earthquakes, when his neighbor/the previous Captain died before ever realizing who he was. Ben, however, figured it out almost right away, and has been chillin' out quietly for the past few months - he introduced himself shortly before all the rioting and madness and the boards shutting down, so no one really noticed him, and he'll be re-introducing himself like... really soon. :D ANYWAYS about him: from Syracuse, where his mom teaches bio. His mom is Jewish and his dad is an Irish expat who is a marginally famous novelist, and they're kind of wacky. He served one year flying helicopters in the Navy before he was injured (he still has to walk with a cane sometimes. It is his PIMP CANE. Legit.) and then did some other shit before finally going to culinary school to become a pastry chef! Now he works at a bakery in the west village, but he lives in Brooklyn (Greenpoint), so if anyone's characters frequents either of those places, they might know him! Re: personality, Ben is like super duper super friendly and nice and helpful, which is really sweet, but also really annoying. Also, he is FIERCE LIKE TYRA. And will make you laugh :> OH LOL ALSO HE HAS A DAUGHTER. Rose is like six and adorable as fuck. She is Ben's world. And a total angel-hell-on-wheels package deal. I've obviously been made of some very extended fail and I am SO sorry for that, you guys, but I'm finally getting back on this Crossover horse -- which means you'll be receiving a looot of commentspam over the next 24 hours. ♥ I'll pick things up via reading, but I'd also really appreciate if someone could help give me a lowdown? Either via comments or by pinging me, I'm indiscriminate! ALSO, I feel like y'all should basically treat me like a new player, because I've been gone long enough that I should re-introduce ALL MY CHARACTERS. So you and me can refresh our memories on where our interactions and plot currently stand. Please please please help me with this! (Plus, I'm bringing in a new character.) So, without further ado, here is an epic list: ELLIOT GRAHAM-SMITHE (REED RICHARDS) [NEW CHARACTER!] yielding SUMMARY: Nervous 34-year-old high school science teacher! Reincarnated bendy superscientist! He grew up in South Africa, went to university in Australia, and eventually ended up in NYC. He's a bit of a wet blanket, and not at all Mr. Fantastic's optimum choice for reincarnation, but beggars can't be choosers. He manifested sometime after the last Reed got killed in the earthquakes, and it's pretty much all been trauma from there on out. He's pretty stoked about being a reincarnate, though, because at least it injects some change into his life. FRIENDS: lol no one. He is VERY new to the community. Like, brand-new. He'll be accidentally bumping into Margot, but that's all I got. NEEDS MORE: Everything. :( His life is sad and sparse and kind of depressing. He's lived in New York for several years now (he lives here with his longterm gf), so maybe a few people who might have known him before Reed manifested? Either way, he will definitely need people to welcome him to the community (once he posts, har har) and helps him get acclimatised. Needs friends eventually, plz. AND DO WE HAVE ANY HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS HERE? Because I am so putting him in your school, if so. PLOT: MEETING THE F4. And dealing with his sudden IQ growth and Reed's manifestation. Another thought: I'd really like him to take up a brief friends-with-benefits sortofthing with someone in present time, since holy crap, the man needs his basic fix while he's waiting around for Lorelai. PLOT: His sporadic but increasing vigilantism is the only general plotline that I've been running with him; if anyone has any use for a gruff ex-military bastard in their plot, oh my god please let me know. Other vigilantes? Awkwardness with other Watchmen characters? GABRIELLE LAMONT (GILDA DENT) ibelieveinhim SUMMARY: Friendly 27-year-old installation manager at the Met. Formerly Harvey Dent's wife. With Issues. FRIENDS: ...Eadweard is like her only friend. She also lives with Fen, and is dating Matthew. Paulina and Joseph now maybe? She also has a pseudo-friendship with Jacob, mainly spurred by the reincarnate in her head. NEEDS MORE: PAST FLINGS, because I never ever manage to establish those properly; she also used to skank her way around Crossover's older male population. And I NEED FEMALE FRIENDS SO HARD IT'S NOT EVEN FUNNY. Gaby is 27, artistic, and a total sweetheart with a lurking uninhibited/tempestuous~ side. ...I sound like a dating ad. PLOT: She works at a museum. You know, if you have any museum needs. 8| BUT MOST IMPORTANTLY, an overarching plot I want for Gaby is her slow befriending of villainous characters, which would increase her sympathies for them and forge more of Gilda Dent's moral greyzone. HELP? Also her entanglement with the Maximoffs. Also, Krys, we should devote some time to Gaby and Matthew in general. ♥ JACK COLLIER hellblazes SUMMARY: Lazy unemployed 27-year-old layabout, soon to be Ghostbuster. Reincarnated working class magician. FRIENDS: Lives with Zara and Chelsea. Knows Moffat, Leo, Nic, Blair. Used to date Vanessa before he fled the country to get away from their breakup. Buys supernatural supplies from Honey. NEEDS MORE: Batfamily interactions! He's obviously around you guys a lot via extension (see: living at St. Follier), so I want to see what he's like around those characters. :> PLOT: Now that Allison and I are back from our nomadic wanderings, Moffat and Jack should eventually be starting up their paranormal investigations bureau. SO IF ANYONE WANTS TO GET IN ON THIS PLOT -- i.e. experience some problems with ghosties and foul beasties from the beyond, who I guess slipped through the cracks of comiccdom -- I think you should totally experience some problems that these fine gentlemen can help you out of. Cough. MOIRA HUNTINGTON withscience SUMMARY: Workaholic 29-year-old PhD student and TA. Reincarnated human genetics whiz and mad scientist (but for the power of good!). Also formerly Professor Xavier's fiancé. FRIENDS: THE COUNCIL, MAINLY. Anne and Georgia are her dearest friends. She also knows Nic, Caro, Dean, Fitz?, Paulina?, Eadweard?. And I get the impression Asher tolerates her presence. NEEDS MORE: More interactions with ALL OF HER FRIENDS. She is such a recluse. D: Also, I should roll with this 'helping people practice their powers' plotline more. PLOT: Investigating people's powers: their extent, their source, their practice, their development. I think I could make her post about this. Her greatest dream, too, is to motherfucking EXPERIMENT on people to figure out how this whole reincarnation schtick works. She also TAs at some university, possibly NYU; any other university characters out there? Who's where? See, I'm not entirely sold on which uni she should work at, so if there's a plethora of people at one or the other, I am enough of an interaction whore that I will shunt her to the place where more students will stumble across her, idk. Also, people should tell me what sort of details have been established about the Crossover gala. ALEXANDRA HOLLOWAY typhoids SUMMARY: Mentally insane 28-year-old who takes the metaphorical trash out for Orbis. On the road to mend, thanks to them. Reincarnated sociopath-for-hire. FRIENDS: Sal and Eddie, mainly. Probs KC. Possibly Bert, a little. NEEDS MORE: hahahah idefk. Alexandra is batshit crazy, so it's hard to say what she'll be doing: lurking at people on the journals, drinking at bars, causing trouble. Maybe she'll start taking classes part-time, and all you nice young impressionable folks can be freaked out by the sociopath-trying-to-live-normal? PLOT: She's Adrian Wilcox's granddaughter and works for Orbis, so PLEASE HANDS UP from other Orbis people out there! (Or if you're apping one, idk.) TOM HARPER (JASON BARD) gumshoes SUMMARY: Laidback 36-year-old FBI agent. Reincarnated detective/private investigator, FRIENDS: His fiancé, Cat. Anne. Lives in the same building as Leo and Vanessa, I think? NEEDS MORE: FRIENDS FRIENDS FRIENDS GIVE THEM TO ME. No really though. Cat and Anne, while delightful ladies, do not a well-rounded male social circle make. PLOT: Knows Beatrice's dark and crimey history~. He will also start compiling dossiers on all you folks soon. There are a looot of characters here that I don't have any definitive interactions with, and that is a CRIME. I have three characters at this XOVER SHINDIG, and I've decided to get back on the Multiple RP balancing bandwagon tonight! SO PLEASE, ALLOW ME TO INTRODUCE MYSELF THESE INDIVIDUALS AND WHAT THEY'VE BEEN DOING THIS SUMMER. Without further ado/caps: GEORGIA BRADFORD/AQUAMAN (cleito) started out our restart with a broken hip and angst! But happy news on her part: after taking a tiny break from Council duties/the network, she's doing a lot better! Hip is kind of stiff and she's taken to using a walker, but still better! The only people he seems to get along with is Alexandra and Camilla, and he's been lurking around for a couple of years now. She is also the incarnation of the Thing, and now that she's actually put down ~roots! in New York she's going to wander in and see what this whole Crossover thing is. She's the new owner of an esoteric bookstore in Woodside, Queens. Think Giles' bookstore in Buffy. She is a ~free spirit~, though not of the vague hippy sort. She just marches to the beat of her own drum. Independent, blunt and sometimes a little left of centre, she is good at organizing people.
