After the Second Wizarding War there was a moment of calm, of peace and serenity. It was soon interrupted as people began to worry about what would happen next. No one wanted to risk the a slide back to what had happened during the war, but with public opinion split on the direction of wizarding society, there only seemed to be one solution - elect a new Minister of Magic. It was all very clean cut, very democratic. There were speeches and town hall meetings. The people came out and spoke their mind and in the end they picked the side that was safer – the older side of the coin. The party made up of mainly Pure Bloods – Puritas – was elected into the Ministry of Magic over the more progressive Allied Party. However, it wasn’t one of the old hats, nor was it someone that people would always look at and see the Dark Mark. They had been smarter than that.
Chance Warrington, now the newly elected Minister of Magic, was left to set up his cabinet, name his advisers and his ministers. Since he was elected to the position by the majority of the magical society in England, there is no reason to think that they would object to him, his choices, his policies or his staff….right? The press, the pundits, have openly criticized everything from policy to the color of his tie at brunch. With the fate of society resting in his hands, which way will it go?
The Ministry is a post DH, non epilogue compliant game set in 2006 that centers around the Ministry of Magic and the political struggles of the wizarding world. Inspired by shows like The West Wing, the focus will be on the internal struggles and mechanisms that drive the Ministry of Magic.

I'm something of a newb when it comes to coding, and my knockoff PS program isn't the greatest. I'm open to any and all feedback! I haven't yet started advertising or anything, and I'd really love to get some opinions before I put it out there properly for people to take a look at.

BOOKS = KNOWLEDGE = POWER = (MASS x DISTANCE) ÷ TIME Welcome to L-Space. That is to say Library-Space. The above principle illustrates the theory of this L-Space: large quantities of books tend to warp time, space, and reality. Pockets of L-Space usually manifest themselves in those improbable little bookstores which are far bigger on the inside than their appearances on the outside say they should be. L-Space links every library and every book, and ever world contained therein. It is highly unstable.
Usually, the tenders of L-Space can keep on top of things. Up until now, they've managed to keep it from tearing the very fabric of reality, or making the universe as we know it implode, but things have recently gotten a little... strained. L-Space has started bending in on itself and drawing in people from different realities. So if you're stuck here, we're afraid you'll be here for awhile. But not to worry! There are others about to keep you company, and a few librarians who are tinkering with the fabric of this new little world to try and make things more comfortable for you. So relax and try to enjoy your stay. Chances are, you'll be here for a while.
End Pages is a multifandom RPG of sorts, with characters from literary works. Opening soon!

Presenting the Triwizard Champion...
It's 2049 and Hogwarts is about to host the Triwizard tournament. With students from Beauxbatons and Durmstrang soon to arrive, the population of Hogwarts are convinced that this time it's their turn to win.
However, not even enthusiasm about the tournament can make people forget about the squabbles over Muggle rights and the recent threats of violence against the pureblood community. It seems that Britain is being targeted by a radical anti-pureblood organisation that will stop at nothing to get their point across.
Applications open, play begins 1st October.

Mainly I would really like setting, premise and potential gameplay critique. If there is something absolutely, positively horrid about the layout/graphics, by all means, tell me. I'm not exactly the best HTML coder in the world so I mainly went with InsaneJournal templates.
Thank you very much.

They say that hell is a place, a fiery pit where unearthly creatures delight in the eternal torment of human souls - but I doubt that there can be a more cruel and keen torture than that which humanity has inflicted on itself throughout history. If you seek demons, you need look no further than your own reflection.
Hell? Hell is other people. |

The Serpent's Game is an original personal horror free-form RPG. It is set in a Kafkaesque city where the characters participate in a game of social intrigue and moral corruption in order to win power, prestige, and eventually their freedom. However, their game is deadly serious - there are no safe words, no taboos and no limits. It's not about eroticizing power, it's about power. Who has it, what they do with it - and what they will do for it.
Therefore, players must be 18+. |

Hi! We'd like some feedback on our community as a whole (not just the graphics). We've been adveritising for a couple of weeks and haven't quite had the response we'd hoped for (not that we thought the game would be the best thing since sliced bread of course.) We're wondering if there is something that is off-putting or confusing or perhaps something we need to change to make the game more appealing to possible applicants.
If there is anything you see that concerns or bothers you (be it graphics, rules, premise, etc) please let us know.
Thanks! ( Ad Behind Cut )

Hi, I would appreciate some critical feedback on our multi-fandom city game, Panopolis. The moderator who was responsible for the bulk of the visuals has had to withdraw due to complications in life, so a constructive feedback with a focus on the content (i.e. feasibility of the game's premise) as opposed to graphics would be great. I sincerely hope to keep the game going long-term and to avoid it dying out in five days, or worse yet, withering out over time due to inactivity.
Said moderator and I have been juggling several ideas for the specifics of the premise and so far have settled with what is published in the journal now. But essentially, the core concept is to have the characters we have grown to know and love live as ordinary people in a city parallel to ours. There will also be political intrigues that lead to this ideal city crumbling apart. I realise that there are lots of multi-fandom games out there, but we wanted to try crafting something with a little more realism. The concern is that I don't have the best means to market the concept, so any advices and suggestions would be welcome. Thank you very much for your help.

We have done a complete overhaul on the advert, and left in-depth review for three other games' posts as well, so hopefully it's alright that I deleted and reposted. If not, let me know and I'll wait until the 2nd when it would actually have been a month!
Any and all feedback is appreciated, on the ad and the game, but given that there are so many Harry Potter games, we're especially interested in feedback on the actual tone/quality/appeal of the game. In the vast quantities of games out there, we had a hard time finding a simple, community-based, third-person game, so we've worked one up, but given that the premise is so very simple, we aren't a game with a "gimmick," so to speak. If there's anything that you think should (or should not) be mentioned in the advertisement to draw some interest, that would rock.

Welcome to Tinworth, a small seaside hamlet on the north coast of Cornwall where wizards and witches live alongside non-magical folk in relative harmony. The citizens of Tinworth have fairly ordinary lives, sometimes busy and fraught with gossiping, sometimes comforting in the humdrum of day-to-day routine. They are a tight-knit community of people with special talents, and just the same is true for our group of players. We're looking for quality writers who enjoy role play as a hobby; for people willing to contribute their thoughts, time, and pens to a small community-based game and have the game moderators commit in turn to keeping Tinworth a special place that's a pleasure to play at. If this interests you, please look over our guide for prospective players. We look forward to getting to know you soon! about tinworth ⊗ rules and faq ⊗ characters ⊗ players' guide |

Quidditch players are the celebrities of the wizarding world. Every child grows up wishing they could be the next Oliver Wood or Aiden Lynch.
With the 2004-2005 season starting soon, the entire league is abuzz with activity. Coaches are preparing their teams for the new year and a new hopes for the league cup. With many old players out with injuries, fresh faces, some of them unlikely, now grace the rosters. This could be anyone's season, even the Cannons.
Quaffle is a soap opera style game focused on personal plot that was inspired by the British TV show Footballer's Wives. It follows the lives of the players from the Wimborne Wasps, last years league champions, Puddlmere United, their biggest rivals, and the Chudley Cannons, the worst team in the league, as well as the lives of their families, significant others and others involved with the quidditch world.

Brand new comm for you all to look over! :D
 | Welcome to St. Kilda, the most happening place in the wizarding world. It's 2024 and the war is a distant memory which the current young-in's are tiring of hearing. No, everyone is much more interested in watching the latest bands, wondering who will be the subject of the new Gossip Witch update or catching a quidditch game.
St. Kilda is a fun place where something is always happening: whether it be a bonfire down in the Cove, a party up on Gilderoy Point, a bustling market in the square, live bands in Snape Park or the fact your neighbour just had an affair with the hot guy from the bakery. We promise you won't be bored.
Why should you pick Labile Galamatias? » No character limit. » No update limit. » The promise of juicy, IC drama and plot to react to. » A system which means that wanted player storylines have a good chance of being filled. » Great mods! ;)
Why Inksome? » More Icons (150!). » More reliable. » No advertising. » More layout options. » You can get rid of the fugly blue. » We've even made a handy 'handbook' for customising inksome, you've got no excuse. » An invite it inksome will be given on acceptance.

A boarding school RPG with a literary twist.

|
| RULES ₪ FAQ ₪ APPLICATION ₪ CASTALIAN SPRINGS ₪ LOWOOD ₪ MOD JOURNAL |

It's a game of unanswered questions. A game of intense interaction. It's quite often too charming for it's own good. It's a game of talented writers written by talented players. It's an original game of authors.
The school of Lowood in the tiny town of Castalian Springs is an intensely private school hidden away near the West Coast. The students and staff of this school are unusual--each of them is the reincarnated soul of a long-dead author. But there's more to the game than that; for some time apparitions have been appearing in the Springs, in the form of characters, places, and items straight from the original stories of these authors.
This RPG has a lively community of friendly players--and talented writers to boot. Play is most frequently done through IM, and there's plenty of room for plot development with literary apparitions. Questions, if not answered by the links above, can be directed to castalianmods@gmail.com. |

Constructive criticism requested in particular in regards to the accessibility of the mod journal, where the information is kept, and, of course, the community as a whole. Thank you!

On 9/9/2006, the United Kingdom wakes up to an unusual sunny day, but the mood changes swiftly. Water plants throughout the country are attacked simultaneously. Hours later the BBC report biochemical attacks with unconceivable consequences.
The Wizarding World lives unaware of what's happening for the time being. Wizards and witches are facing their own problems, but soon death befalls upon them. Is it connected? How will they fight a Muggle attack? Will they face extinction? Will they join the Muggle world or cut all ties? Will they be able to break down the traditional barriers between Pureblood and Muggleborn in order to survive?
Every decision could lead to the end of the Wizarding world.

| September Advertisments |
[13 Aug 2009|03:19pm] |
Hi everyone! charing_cross is a sort of unique game where each month we introduce new plots to keep the game spicey. For September it's going to be an outbreak of Dragon Pox. We like to make new ads to compliment the major plot going on each month, which is why I'm here today. We'd really appreciate some feedback on this ad (and the game in general if people want to poke around, though we haven't changed anything since the last time we posted a few months ago.) What we're trying to convey is still a sort of fun atmosphere, even though there will be a sickness running rampant through the magical community, so I'd like to know how well that comes across here, if there's anything we should add and/or subtract. Also, does the color scheme work? And anything else anyone thinks of. Thanks in advance for any help!

| Akedia: A dark supernatural RP |
[30 Jul 2009|09:13pm] |
| Akedia |
Aliens are on Earth. Not your typical, green Martian. No, slugs that can crawl into your ear and control your every move, read your every thought. And large, blue man-horses who can morph into any animal. And then there are the Animorphs... humans who have the ability to morph into animals.
New York City is a corrupt place. Even without alien invasions, rapists, murderers, and con-artists roam the streets every day. So really, Earth is screwed. A silent war has broken out. Which side are you on? Or are you just an innocent bystander?
Akedia is based off the Animorphs series, but is not in any way for children. This game will explore dark themes, explicit sexual content, violence, and supernatural plots. There will be no fluff and the ratings will be high. No previous knowledge of Animorphs is needed to play.

[30 Jul 2009|10:48am] |
So I don't have an ad to post (well, I do, but that's not why I'm here) but I have another request. My game has just reached about 50 characters. The current Cast List looks very cluttered and messy, even though I have minimal information on it. I have a list of Available Characters with links on the ones that are taken, bolded for holds, etc etc. And then I have the Cast List which has icons, character names, and pb names for each character. I'm not sure how to make that more aesthetically pleasing. (I also have a player contact list, so there's no need to include that info anywhere else.) I've debated using a PB List only. I thought about separating the characters on the cast page by gender (but it still looks cluttered) or by series since it's a cross-over game (except that we have a couple of characters already who are cross-genre and I suspect we'll get more). So I'm really desperate for ideas. I've looked around at all the ads communities to try and find something that I could mimic, but none of them have the expanse of characters that I have. So, anyone have any ideas or suggestions?
I'm sorry, I know that was a lot to read. I'm just trying to explain myself fully.

Hi, a friend pointed me in the direction of this community. I haven't actually gotten the community up and prepared yet. I would very much appreciate critique on the advertisement though. I'm having a bit of trouble with the html/tables in IJ for some reason, random extra spaces and the nested tables not showing up the border properly.

The nation was stunned when it was revealed that Graydon Creed killed Professor Charles Xavier on live television to prove he was a mutant. Public outcry against the acts perpetrated by the organization known as the 'Friends of Humanity' allowed several laws to be passed in favor of mutant rights. That was more than a decade ago, in that time the realm of politics has come to an impasse. Amidst the political stalemate there was a heavy push by many parents to have mutant children removed from the school systems. The Xavier Institute could no longer provide the necessary facilities for so many mutants, adult and child alike. Ororo Munroe, the new head of the Institute, and Hank McCoy went before the Senate and House and asked that a second school be funded on the West Coast. Senator Raymond F. Donaldson, a democrat from California and the first mutant on the senate, helped to push the funding through. Thus the Xavier Memorial Institute was born.
X-Memorial is an AU X-men game set in modern day California. It is meant to be a place where OCs may flourish, new stories can be written and those who have moved to the west coast may begin again. The school grounds, commonly referred to as Mutant Island, house both a high school and a university as well as a training facility. The game is open to mutants age 16+, canon and original characters are both welcome. The game hopes to combine the social and political aspects of life as a mutant with the dangers that come from living in a world where humans, mutants, and things only classified as 'other' coexist.
