Hello, everyone. I've spent the better part of my night reading back through whatever I could find on here, and I think I've got a fairly decent handle on everything so far. Some of you I'm familiar with (or at least I think I am; that seems to be a matter of some debate, I see) but I've done my best to keep track of names even for those of you who are new to me. So as not to put you at a disadvantage: My name is Jean, though some of you may know me better as one of the X-Men.
I read a little about plans for an in-person meeting, but they seem to have fallen through. Is anyone willing to revive them? On the list of all the crazy places I've wound up in my life, I think being stranded in the age of the dinosaurs with an entire city to protect is definitely up there. Seeing you all would definitely help me to take stock of things, and it might do the same for you. I see someone's even found a good location. (Good work there, by the way.)
I can also tell that you're all trying to do your best for this fractured city and the people in it. If your hands are too full, or if you're concerned about face-to-face meetings for other reasons, a group meeting on here is a possible alternative. But however we do it, I think pooling our collective knowledge, skills, and resources is the best advantage we can possibly give ourselves right now. Meeting with the chief of the NYPD and the mayor would also be a good idea; if we include them in our plans, hopefully they'll return the favor.
If any of you want to throw out some other ideas, please do. I'm even happy to be your sounding board if you want one. I'm not sure how or why cell service is still going, but we might as well take advantage of it for as long as it lasts. To contact me outside of this forum, use [a phone number.] If you can't reach me, try my husband at [a second phone number.] He's out in the jet surveying the area, but we have some limited medical supplies aboard the plane if you need them. I'll see about getting some more from one of the local hospitals tomorrow.
